The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2

The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2

This game is even better than the first game.

Some new elements is added but not much. Can be ignored but still it is an improvement. There are some animation added to the game, a driving mini game is added.

The characters are lovely and have their struggles and backgrounds. It’s very attractive. My favorite main characters from the two games ranged as

Sachi Lucia Iris Patricia Nobuchina Asuhara Kuroki Euracia

The only thing need to know about the background is the main protagonist became a cat when kissing a female and it is caused by Patricia who is from the netherworld to destroy the world that humans are living in.

“Again happy cat experience, it’s a nice sequel! ヽ(=´▽'=)ノ”

+ Point: All ages, but you can experience it at a reasonable price.

[1] Intro

The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2. (Original Title: Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart 2) It’s a Japanese anime style visual novel originally released by Harukaze in 2017. Its R15+ version was released in February this year as the PS4 and Nintendo Switch titles. As you may know, there are the R18+ contents in the original Japanese version, but this global version is for all ages such as Trinoline(MangaGamer).

If you play with the restoration patch, I’d surely recommend the game.

The story itself is pretty decent, and it has a good quality, yet, I’ll agree with everyone who’s complaining, the normal version is really bad. I don’t know what they were thinking when they decided to bring such an incomplete game. This isn’t one of those eroge that you can easily play without the H-scenes.

With that said… I’ll give a review because I played it with the restoration patch.

First of all:

-If you decide to buy it, do it when it’s like 50% off, don’t even dare to buy this game at full price

Target Audience: Those needing a smile, or want good characters to connect to

Summary:

While I understand the controversy surrounding the “cut content” dealing with the console versions and the licensed work from Japan, I believe the strength of the game’s core story ends up overcoming that regardless: because it’s a series of characters that are easy to connect to, and touching scenes and moments in the story that end up pushing Stray Cat into a must get in the romantic comedy visual novel pool. Yes, the game may have reasonable line work, alright music, and can be all over the place, but it’s the charm that lifts it to new heights. There’s something down to earth despite some of the super natural elements of the game, and it’s thanks to some EXCELLENT voice acting that the game is able to sell the ridiculous yet emotional elements of the game. I’m going on record that the japanese voice acting is some of the best I’ve heard, especially from Yuuki and Michi. Which by the way, Michi is best girl and no one can tell me otherwise.

Love Spell: Written In The Stars - a magical romantic-comedy otome

*Note: I received this game as a gift from my sister.

tl;dr: This isn’t the worst game I’ve ever played. I would have given it a neutral rating if I could. But if you’re purely asking whether I would recommend it to someone or not, then this game has too many problems for me to honestly say I would.

Cons:

  • Writing: During the prologue, you barely spend any time with the love interests, so it’s hard to decide who you want to go for first if you didn’t read the profiles beforehand. Additionally, sometimes the writing was inconsistent or just didn’t make any sense to me. (Ex.

! Why is MC still auditioning for roles in student productions if it’s been “several years”? Why does MC lament “forgetting” the spell was ending in Florian’s route when Philia just told her ten minutes ago? She even told Philia she’d worry about the spell later, so we know she was paying attention! Why are Sergio and Marcello’s groups referred to as

! the mafia late in the route when earlier they tell MC

! they’re more like mercenaries/hitmen?) The writing in this game is also VERY trope-y and predictable. For some people, that’s alright, but it was just something I personally didn’t like. Sometimes the writing had some bad implications (like being single is the worst thing that could happen) and Enix’s route as a whole made me feel terrible because

! he doesn’t break up with Isla until WAY late. (Plus, MC doesn’t know the breakup even happened until after things got serious! And since Isla comes by later, it was apparently a one-sided breakup…). One of the characters is obviously meant to be the “true” route, which I personally dislike.

Love Spell is a beautiful, heartwarming, and funny game that I recommend 100%!

Each LI was enjoyable to romance, and even the ones I felt I wouldn’t like so much ended up making me love them! The two I was unsure about actually made it to my top two! And well, I’ll go ahead and name them, It was Marcello and Florian. I’m not one that typically enjoys the flirtier types because, most of the time, it ends up being that character’s whole personality. Since they ended up being my top two, I’m pretty sure It’s obvious that that that wasn’t the case for them, but I’m saying it just in case! I’ll go further into why I liked them later on when I start individually discussing the routes (I’ll also have my criticisms there too because I do have some.) Another thing I liked was how each route felt so different. Sometimes, it felt like I was playing a whole different game after starting a new route. (In a good way!)

Alchemy Absorption: Melody

Alchemy Absorption: Melody

I have started my journey through the endless stream of perverted games, visual novels specifically, and as I delve deeper and deeper into the boobie jungle I feel I have developed a taste. A taste for quality, a taste for beauty, of complexion, and of course, a taste for anime tiddie. Here are my thoughts on Alchemy Absorption Melody after playing the first 60 minutes of the game:

-Art (5/10): The style of the characters gives me early to mid 2000s anime vibes. it’s amateur art for a visual novel that is slightly above low grade. The backgrounds could use more depth and better lighting, the entire game appears washed out with a generic daytime mood. It’s not bad art, it does it’s job. I do however dislike the character designs, there is hardly anything special about the 4 characters that do have art to them, asside from the sister Asteria. Asteria’s design is done really well, it’s cute, iconic, and very well themed to her personality.

Wow, just like I expected I just really love RhinoGearz Visual Novels. The writing, story telling and just in general how he likes to form romance stories and relationships just really fits with my own personal likings. You play a young guy entering a magic academy and finding the love of your life in it. The relationship development is really nice and I also really enjoyed the overall story apart from the romance itself. Considering that you also get around 4 hours of story and that it is only 2 euro, I will never understand why his games dont take off more. For this price you wont find anything better on steam when it comes to romance VNs and just overall positive story telling.

I enjoyed this, but had to re-start a few times to get a consistent path through to the end. Just over 8 hours for 1 complete play including the re-starts. I DO understand where the negative reviews are coming from, but I think a lot has to do with how consistent you stick to your chosen path and faction. Personally I think the author did a decent job describing the choices so that you could identify which choice paired up with which faction. Remember, you are playing what amounts to an American freshman student in high school. Yes, the game gives you the OPTION to get involved with inter-faction politics, but how many young high-schoolers are involved with politics in any way? (Not many). THAT is a hint imo. Minor spoiler I chose to ignore faction politics except for a few actions on the fringes and ended up with the best ending (I think)

Out of all the choice of game games I’ve played this would be one of the least favourite ones. I was disappointed at how flat it sometimes felt, the rush in certain parts and lack of characters. I was hoping when I chose the opposite gender to play I’d get to have a different roommate instead of Jule’s just gender swapping. I don’t know, I perfered them as the girl. I get they can’t make the roommate different, that’d just be a heck of a lot more work on them but still. We had an array of other character’s that we didn’t really get to see more of. I also felt like the romance was kind of lacking in the game, being a gamer girl, I really like to have my character’s have some form of romance in games :P Good writing, just lack of anything.

Rune Factory 4 Special

Rune Factory 4 Special

The Peak of Farming RPG Game

Having played the game for countless hours in 3DS and the Switch, RF 4S is easily the best in the series and is the best RPG Farming sim out there, rivaling even Stardew Valley and easily outclassing the series this game is based on: Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons.

Besides as a Farming sim, the game is a great JRPG with nice and fluid combat, there are several weapon type which has different gameplay each such as short sword which is decently fast and will have 100% of your shield effect but it’s range is limited or dual knife which is extremely fast and have lots of DPS but the range is very short and you cannot have the shield benefit at all, my fav is great sword since it has a lot of damage and great reach but it’s slow and only have 50% of the shield effect, but you can use other weapon skill while benefiting the greatsword’s range and damage, yes you can use different weapon skill even if you’re not equiping the corresponding weapon but you’ll get double the MP cost penalty which is annoying early on but once you have lots of food to restore your MP it is not a big deal.

Written review below!

I was a bit iffy going into this one. Harvest Moon type games have always been a bit hit or miss for me, but with Rune Factory 5 coming out soon, I figured I’d give this one a shot.

Gameplay

Despite the simple graphics here - RF4S is a bit of a beast in terms of content. Not only is there the farming stuff, but you’ve got dungeon exploring, this extensive crafting system, a large map to explore, and a dating and marriage system on top of that. Up front, it seemed like I would get lost in all of this, but the game actually does a really good job easing you into it through its request system.
