Rogue Aces Deluxe
Only just started playing, but loving it so far. Mostly because it’s a lot of fun, but a little bit because of the nods to Skystrike ;) (a game I wrote many many years ago on the ST). If I were writing Skystrike again nowadays, I’d be pinching lots of stuff from Rogue Aces as it’s an absolute belter :)
Rogue Aces is a properly difficult game, but you learn a lot in the early part of the game from your mistakes and immediately dive straight back in for another bash at it.

Review by Sven Evil - Steam’s best local 4-player curator!

Are you in the mood for some good old fashioned arcade fun? Then Rogue Aces is the right game for you. It comes with a single player campaign with random, short missions and three multiplayer modes for up to 4 local players.
In the single player camapign (additional campaign and arcade modes can be unlocked) you start your fighter plane from an aircraft carrier and fly missions against the enemy. The mission objectives, given to you by your funny commanding officer, are very simple and consist of destroying enemy planes, airships, ships, buildings, soldiers or vehicles. It is also possible to capture enemy airfields. A good pilot can return to the base after a minute in many missions, others take a bit longer. When you are damaged or out of ammo or fuel - just land on the carrier or your land base to repair and refuel. You improve your plane over the course of the campaign, for example with more bombs or tighter turns.

Sigma Impact
It is actually a very nice game, once you get into it. Provides very fun gameplay with a beautiful soundtrack, and I like the fact that it has local co-op to make the game more fun and a bit easier with the extra help. The game has a lot of potential to improve and add new things in further updates. I would personally recommend a third player local co-op option, and I think some other people would too. Thou I do understand that it would have to squeeze the players health and weapon stamina bars, making them very small. Hopefully there is an alternative solution to this problem. My second suggestion is just to add some new enemies, and maybe a weapon too. But all in all, so far this has been an extremely fun game for me and my friends to play together, and I hope that there will be updates very soon:)

This game is very fun and hard to master but once you get the hang of it. The game somehow becomes even more challenging as you try to beat the it under 10 minutes I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a casual play-through. I’m looking forwards to further development in the future.

Quick Rundown:
–———————-
The good: Gameplay mechanics are solid, if a bit simplistic.
The bad: Exceptionally difficult to find others to play with.
Verdict: A hopeful 6/10 in its current state. Fun for a quick romp but disappointed about not having enough friends to play with. Interface, matchmaking, and netcode need a few tweaks.
Potential: 8/10 with a solid-buy recommendation if matchmaking gets an overhaul. Once the multiplayer community gets up and running,

Monster Train
I guess hours played should really say what I think about this game.
I have a very specific morning routine. I wake up, start making coffee, brush my teeth and have a smoke. When coffee is finished I sit down and slowly wake up to a game or two of Monster train before starting work. Sometimes I play a game of Slay the spire but since that takes about 30-45 seconds to start I tend to go for Monster train (500 hours of SLS on Gog).
This is the perfect timewaster. Easy to get into and all the different races have so much variability. And deckbuilding is my favorite boardgame game mode ever.

Game is pretty fun. A bit more combo based than say Slay the Spire and a lot of luck can be needed on higher difficulties. That being said it is bright and fun and it’s enjoyable to take a train to hell.

Bloody Rally Show
200 character summary
Bloody Rally Show is an absolutely unfair rogue like top down racing game with very nice controls and 4 player split screen, earn money, Kill peds for nitro, use weapons to kill, Anything for the win.
Story & Characters 9/10
You wake up in 2084 as a custom protagonist You had an accident in 2021 and where put into a cryosleep, to pay it back you have to compete in the most popular form of entertaintment these days. It is a dystopian future and the global economy has been taken over in the year 2030 by that big tech company you should know about. When they focussed on Entertainment and noticed Rally was very popular in the 80s because of the high accident rate so surely enough Bloody Rally Show was born. It is very popular so social media influencers are always on top of the action to get those likes, no matter how dangerous it is.

Let’s backtrack a little bit, one year or so later, when I was bored out of my mind for games. I am a fan of top-down racers, things like the original Death Rally and others, and I saw this game. It looked really rough with sort of 3d car models in a 2d environment, but the game had something that stuck by me. Generated roads and a hint of rogue-lite. So, I was interested and unexpectedly, I was received a key, in return for something - FEEDBACK. So, I did my best I could. Let’s fast forward to where we are.

Urban Cards
Well, I first wrote a semi joking review about how this game was sucking up all my time and you shouldn’t get the game unless you wanted to be sucked into it like crazy but now that I’ve spent even more time playing it and the recent update came out, I wanted to change this review to reflect a truly positive view of a game that I enjoy a lot.
I play a lot of roguelites, no game genre speaks to me more than one where I can sit down, start a new run from the beginning, and either lose or win it within the hour and still feel satisfied with myself, even wanting to start another run out right away.

–The game’s alright. Very uneven gameplay. If you lose on debt it will feel super-frustrating, there is only one card in the game that can regularly clear more than 1000 debt at a time and if you miss it you will lose. This happens too often to recommend the game.
–The music is pretty good. Production values are otherwise indy. The voice acting on the Gamer and Harbor characters is so annoying it’s better playing against them on mute.
–Debt is the worst thing about the game at present. About a third of my losses have ended on “I’ve only encountered 1 card that can reduce my debt, and the hacker boss gives me debt every turn, so I have X turns to draw Money Laundering before I lose” or “this enemy has 2 cards in his deck that can give me $600 debt, if he draws both of them before I draw Money Laundering, I lose.” I don’t think I’ve gotten past day 2 of any of the Oper playthroughs where I’ve failed to find Money Laundering. The debt that I pile up is mostly from uninteractive enemy effects (the hacker’s boss inflicts a passive $100 debt per turn, and some enemies have multiple copies of the ****ing card that gives the other player $600 debt to the enemy). If you have to lose on debt, at least it should be from a lending minion, those are interactive.

When you start the game, the training section welcomes you and the training easily teaches you everything you need to know.

The graphic designs of the game belong to a full RPG world. The dark and jagged designs of the dungeons make you feel like you are on a real battlefield.
-
One of my favorite features of the game is that there are parry, block and Dodge mechanics in the game. It literally immerses you in the action. These are indispensable features for the rpg world.

After playing for around 5 hours (multiple playthroughs) I’ve gathered some thoughts.
It’s an okayish game right now. It needs more content and a good amount of polish but I’ve encountered no bugs that made it impossible to play. Also I’m giving a positive review because I like the concept and I hope, that there is more to come (more enemies, different locations, and I am especially looking at you Roguelike-mode!)
I hope to come back to this game and find a solid and polished game but for now, here are some things that I would change or improve a little bit and some bugs I’ve encountered.
