Inkulinati

Inkulinati

Inkulinati is an ink-based strategy game straight from medieval manuscripts, where a rabbit’s bum can be deadlier than a dog’s sword.

Take your turn in Inkulinati duels filled with unexpected tactical depth (and humour!). Embark on an ever-changing journey, build your own bestiary, defeat medieval superstars and collect perks to unleash special powers.

Become a master of the Living Ink, grab your quill and build your unique strategy time after time so that you can be named the greatest Inkulinati of all time!

INKULINATI IS INSPIRED BY REAL-LIFE MEDIEVAL MARGINALIA

700 years in the making, finally these bizarre art pieces can come alive in a video game and show that medieval people also had their “memes” and that they laughed from the same silly things that we do today. You’ll see sword-wielding rabbits, dogs with spears, trumpets lodged in bottoms, human-eating snails, and more. Much, much more…

FIGHT LIKE AN INKULINATI

Inkulinati are a legendary group who battle one another on the pages of medieval manuscripts. They fight by drawing Beasts with the Living Ink. Thanks to this magical substance, those creatures come to life and an epic battle ensues.Move your Beasts across the battlefield, perform actions on or with them, make tactical use of obstacles and collect more Living Ink to draw new Beasts which allows you to gain an advantage over your opponent.

MULTIPLE DEADLY (AND BIZARRE) BEASTS TO UNLOCK

Donkeys playing trumpets with their bottoms, bishop cats vanquishing heretics with prayers, heavy but deadly snails that eat units alive, and more. Much, much more. They all have their special skills and are waiting for your command.

SPECIAL, BATTLE TIDE-TURNING ACTIONS PERFORMED BY THE INKULINATI

It’s not just your Beasts that can cause havoc and damage. Use your fists to smash your opponent’s units, draw obstacles to create barriers, relocate your units with a move of your finger, or explode your troops to create pure, pure chaos. Just remember - your opponent can do it too.

ADAPT YOUR TACTIC TO EVERY BATTLE

Each Inkulinati has its own army, with different Beasts, who in turn, have different abilities, strengths, and unfortunately, weaknesses (or fortunately - depending which side you’re on). But it’s not just the armies that can influence who will win any given duel. Each Battlefield is its own domain, with its own particular dangers that you should watch out for, and opportunities that you can use. You will have to use your wits and adapt your strategy to beat the opposing Inkulinati’s army on each specific Battlefield.

A SINGLE-PLAYER CAMPAIGN

Uncover the mystery and secrets of Inkulinati and face such opponents as Death, Dante Alighieri, and more. Go out into the world and start your adventure! Fight the biggest Inkulinati masters in the land, tame the untamed Beasts, build your ultimate army, try to bring back your Master from the clutches of death, and most importantly, finish your grand quest with the biggest party that the middle ages have ever seen! Howza!!!

CREATE AND DEVELOP YOUR OWN CHARACTER

As any aspiring Inkulinati Master, you will get to create your own Tiny-Inkulinati. During your journey you will learn the secret techniques of drawing new Beasts and Inkulinati Hand Actions, allowing you to choose the composition of your army. You can be a brave knight that has no fear and will send his loyal troops straight at his opponents. Or perhaps you would like to play with a bit more tact? In that case, you can be a nun who with the power of prayer can confuse her enemies and heal thy own servants. Those styles, and more, are waiting to be discovered and made your own. Express yourself!

EVERY BATTLE HAS ITS OWN STORY

To mark every battle in history books for all future generations to see, a procedurally generated text describes the dramatic (or hilarious) events in detail just above the battlefield.

LOCAL PVP BATTLES

Inkulinati will bring you back to the Golden Era of hot-seat mode.

Altwaldheim: Town in Turmoil

Simple game. Yet rng, 5 factions, random events, riddles make it complex with deep strategy element.

I love city builders and making units in general. Game is very challenging I’ve played 17.5 hours a few days into purchasing and even though made it to final boss twice i still have not beat the game yet. Addictive game play and replay value is high.

Key to starting is focus on 1. gold 2. food 3. wood. i do not make any units until i’m attacked at the start. when i am attacked I focus on making a few units ie 20 archers maybe 10 thugs 10 militia then attack the small camps ie peasant militia and archer camps. make iron and stone mine and the remaining buidings. pick one faction to focus on and maybe have a subfaction as 2nd ary. for me i choose military and later capitalists. but there are relion freethinkers and nature ie guardians.

I’ve been playing games from a very young age. This game will work for you if you like a chill relaxed management game that will challenge you.

Graphics are minimalist but it doesn’t matter.

I recommend the game because the developers did a really really good job in pulling this together in a way that it will keep you entertained while really focusing on you management and decision skills.

Well done, it’s a buy.

Knight VS Giant : The Broken Excalibur

Knight VS Giant : The Broken Excalibur

Camelot was destroyed, by the Giants. You, an unknown knight, just revived by Merlin, The Wizard. Merlin gives you an important task: Restore the Kingdom of Camelot and defeat the Giants. The only weapon you have, a broken Excalibur.

Knight vs Giant is an Action RPG with rogue-lite elements that combine Kingdom Restoration with Procedural Dungeon.

#### KINGDOM RESTORATION

While exploring the dungeon, always look out for others in need. They will help you rebuild the kingdom, or even better, help you power up. Some of them may have a special quest for you and offer handsome rewards in return

#### KNIGHT OF THE ROUND

Yes, you hear that correctly. Your Excalibur may be broken, Knight of the Round may be all dead, but not their power. Borrow their power, and store them in your Excalibur.

#### POWER SYNERGY

Choose the right blessing for your sword, some of them will have a synergy activated, and give you extra power for your adventure

#### ENEMY LEVELING

Your enemy also leveling up to match your skill. So, say no more to boring hack and slash games.

#### REALLY BIG BOSSES

Have you been bored fighting normal size enemies? Don’t fret, the big bosses here is so massive that they can break you with only a few punch.

Knight vs Giant is developed by Gambir Studio. We plan to release it in 2022 for PC and Mac, and hopefully on another platform as well.

See you soon, Knights!!!!

Been playing a few days now and its getting more interesting each time i play, not found any major bugs or game breaking bugs, just one thing that might need changing is when you eventually get killed you gota start again, theres no load game screen once you die so you need to go through the start again creating a character, maybe on that screen you can put a load game , but apart from that its great.

Nice idea, but not enough meaningful content

I enjoyed my time playing this, but the repetitive nature and lack of content makes this a: ‘wait for a sale’ game.

The gameplay is similar to tactical turnbased games like “Into the Breach” or “Advance Wars.” But what makes this game unique is that you only have ten seconds to plan out your moves, and then you actually control the character for x amount of time either moving, attacking, charging your shields (called dodge in this game, but it’s really just like shields) or more typically, a combination of all three. There are also special attacks that can attack multiple enemies in a row, etc. You can use the environment on the map as well to trigger attacks, or push an enemy onto a spike floor. There are also synergies to be had, and there are a couple different ways you can plan your run.

Lots of fun, the mechanics between the two characters is challenging and allows you different play styles according to what weapons and boons you select. Higher level floors are challenging and fun. Enjoyed collecting different charms and animals even though i was only able to collect 2 before beating the game,

This game would be one of my top ten Rogue like if more areas and characters were added. The limitation of 2 characters really doesn’t allow for any replay value unless you need to collect and unlock everything, I am usually a person that like to collect everything and get all achievements but didn’t feel the need to replay the game after 16 hours to collect a few more animals, a few weapons, and one more achievement.

Don’t Kill the King!

Don’t Kill the King!

Someone tried to kill the king, but fortunately they failed! However, the would-be assassin will return to try again, and it’s your job to catch them.

As a medieval gate guard:

  • Interrogate visitors and try to uncover any lies or inconsistencies in their stories.

  • Search any visitors that seem suspicious. After all, they could be smuggling contraband or worse…

  • If any hidden item is found, choose to confiscate it as illegal contraband, or discreetly take it for yourself.

  • After deeming visitors as innocent or guilty, choose to allow them into the city, deny them entry, or even throw them in the dungeon.

Do all the above while:

  • Trying to maintain the happiness of the visitors.

  • Earning gold to pay your bills.

  • Gaining reputation amongst the city guards in order to climb your way up to top.

Sometimes being a gate guard can be exhausting work, and quite frankly low-paying work at that. So a little bit of dishonest work to make some quick coin here and there wouldn’t hurt, right?

  • Gamble and play some relaxing Contraband Bingo with the contraband you confiscated from the visitors (or bought from the black market).

  • Invest in contraband stocks at the black market and check everyday to see if your stocks are climbing or dipping.

Features:

  • Each visitor will have their own set of occupations and personality types that will be randomly chosen each day which will affect their dialogue and how they interact with you. For example, one visitor may be an honest blacksmith one day and the next day you see them they might be a lying carpenter.

  • Special items can be bought at the black market which affect the number of visitors who are carrying items, decrease the likelihood of guilty visitors appearing, double the amount of reputation earned from your work, and more!

  • Achievements to be unlocked through special interactions and your hard work!

TL;DR This game is a mix of Noita and Rogue Legacy, very fun if you’re on a budget :)

I feel like I got off on the wrong foot with this game. Originally, the game didn’t work at all for me which led me to leaving a negative review (Initial Review can be found below) and also refunding the game. The developer then got back to me within a few hours of my review telling me that he had updated the game.

All excited I decided to purchase the game again and give it a second try. All the issues I had previously mentioned, were gone. I played a couple of games and had a lot of fun. The enemies were neat, the room layouts looked fairly unique and the particle effects were really good. I played a total of 5 runs (Including the tutorial).

I played it for a little while and I can say its vey fun to play, I honestly like it.

It gets a bit lagy from time to time, but its a first realese so it’s not a problem.

Shackled

Shackled

Shackled is the type of game that is entirely driven by the player’s willingness dive deeper into the world and uncover its mysteries. If you want to try and speed run the game without learning much about the world around you, you can with much greater difficulty than if you were to involve yourself in all of the side quests, strategic resetting, and world exploration to beef up your character.

Speaking of involving yourself, Shackled has tens of hours of content for a player who is looking to get the full experience per storyline (good, neutral, evil). The multitude of character interactions, environments, and quests questions your character’s intended purpose in the world and how much choice you truly have. Further lore tidbits are scattered around the world and require effort to both find and decode to understand the full story.

Real player with 7.7 hrs in game

Shackled has a lot to offer and is meant to be played several times to find all of the secrets and follow each path of the story. The game is tough and encourages you to find new ways to speed up and improve your character before continuing on to the next level. There are plenty of spells to use, each help out and allow you to adapt a run to a certain play style.

I tested this game during its development which is why I received a free copy

Death: The Ascension

Certainly not for everyone, confusing at first, but has plenty of unique mechanics after you get past the learning curve

Update:

After a few ascensions, I have a better idea now how the mechanics and concepts fit into this creative new game developed by a very friendly and responsive indie-developer who has updated the game in quick response to suggestions on the discussion forum.

https://youtu.be/44Fzz7bToSo

What is it?

I would describe Death: The Ascension as a card/puzzle life-choice simulator in which you aim to optimize your chances of a successful ascension by manipulating event probabilities. It has a deck-building type of mechanic in which you add cards to your deck, but the deck is not a draw-deck. Cards in your “deck” influence the chances of drawing cards into the player’s five card hand from an infinite pool. In other words, if you have only one card in your “deck”, you have a 100% chance of drawing five cards of that type. You are playing cards against Death as your opponent. Death has their own deck that has similar draw mechanics, but only draws one card per turn. Each turn one card from each deck is played with four possible events dictated by the player’s card with varying probabilities for each event known ahead of time.
