Remember PlayStation Vita? No? Well… you’re not alone. Many people don’t. And that’s the problem. Even though SONY reclaimed their fans with PlayStation 4, which is pretty much the only console on the modern market with both decent hardware and strong video games library, Vita ended up being forgotten and obsolete. Let’s not go too deep into the commercial stuff, though. Even though it’s completely beyond me how Nintendo can sell so many Switch units while it has even less games than Vita. Anyway, the important thing is – there were some publishers, who did their very best to support Vita. And since Vita failed… it felt like all those nice titles were supposed to sink with it. Thankfully, IF-chan (Idea Factory) decided to do their very best again. This time by porting all those Vita titles to personal computers. For everybody to enjoy. Naturally, here comes another one.

Beta Tester Here,

This might look like a cute story and it is but it can be at certain points hmm…creepy?disturbing? when dealing with people whom you know have a screw loose in the head. Some themes can include stalking as comedy so if you are uncomfortable with that, you have been warned.

I think the opening starts off pretty depressing and can be relatable to many people…

You’ll soon find an urgency to roaming the dungeouns in search of spices. There are many points I found laughing and embrassing(you’ll soon see why) to read it. To say anymore would be to ruin the chances of you enjoying it but I can still say the writing of the story is the strongest point of this game. The cutscenes are done in a visual novel way.

Time Break Chronicles

Time Break Chronicles

Greetings one and All,

For those interested in this game here is my review on it.

Time Break Chronicles plays like an old school rpg game. Those who have played older rpgs would enjoy it but it’s not your typically rpg. Those fans of Final Fantasy VII or VII New Threat mods or Final Fantasy VI Brave New world would find great enjoyment in the challenges of this game. Most fights are about thinking. The balance of the game is rather well done despite how many characters you can choose from. As writing this review we are at 48 characters available. My highest loop on my best save is loop 20. This game is about planning stuff out. Learning enemies and bosses strategy and how they react to certain attacks.

Excellent game even in early access

It’s basically a JRPG meets rogue lite. You’re stuck in an endless dimensional loop and travel from node to node towards the end boss. Think Slay the spire map layout except horizontal instead of vertical. Entering a node drains stamina from each character in your party and lower stamina equals lower character stats

Your main character Claire is stuck in an endless loop in a strange dimension. From her own little pocket in this dimension, she travels the map, rescuing characters to strengthen her party while fighting a nefarious cult. There are 24 characters at present with more to come. While there is some overlap between characters, each offers unique abilities and you’re free to form your party in any way you like with the only requirement being that Claire is present. Claire has 3 forms, tank, dps and healer and while she is not as good in each role as more specialized characters, her jack of all trades and her ability to switch form at will even during combat, makes her very valuable

Hero Soul: I want to be a Hero!

Hero Soul: I want to be a Hero!

Taken from the banned texts in the Imperial Library

Long ago, on the small continent of Altaria, two races mastered the art of magic. The first were the elves mastering the magics of life known as astral magic. The second were the demons mastering the magics of death known as umbral magic. The elves, fearing umbral magic, banded with the the other races on a crusade to wipe out the demon race. The crusade was all too successful, leading to the extinction of the demon race. The elves no longer contested, ruled Altaria forming the Altarian Empire.

Present Day

Knowledge of the demon race and umbral magic have all been forgotton. The elves rule over Altaria and occupy the nobility of the empire, while the humans and beastmen that helped them remain commoners in the empire.

Cecilia Grey is your less than average human commoner. Her father is a member of a civilian organization known as the adventurer guild, and unlike many girls her age, she wants to join the guild to follow in his footsteps. How will her adventure unfold?

#### Mixing Roguelite and JRPG Genres!

Ever wonder what would happen if a story driven JRPG mixed with a rouge-lite? Does that even work? Hero Soul started as an experimental project to explore this concept where I tried smashing the two together, and the result… well you’ll have to judge for yourself.

#### What can I expect?

Hero Soul is a 2D pixel ARPG, which incorporates traditional RPG/JRPG gameplay with rogue-lite elements. Like traditional rogue-lites, gameplay is broken into runs or small sessions. Each session will be similar but not the same as the last. The story will progress as you do more runs and Cecilia will grow stronger as well!

#### Features

- Procedurally generated levels

The landscape of Altaria is always shifting, and no two levels will be alike. Experience increased replay-ability with procedurally generated levels, quests, and monsters! No level or run will be exactly the same and no story will be either!

- Customizable spell system

In Hero Soul you can cast spells in addition to your normal attacks. As you play you will discover spell cards to add to your collection. You may then pick and choose which spell cards to use. Spell effects vary so experiment to find which cards suit your play style.

- Modular skill trees

While the game’s name is Hero Soul, the Hero Soul also refers to the modular talent tree system that handles your character’s skills and talents. This system allows you to mix and match different hero archetypes to create your ideal hero. Heroes are are discovered randomly as you progress thorough the game.

Battle Star

Battle Star

I played almost 40h and want to keep going. As a f2p I like that you can get all the characters without spending any money. The graphics are good, sounddesign is catching and the turnbased combat is right up my ally. The only thing I might add is the option to change gear during missionselection. Other than that I would also like to see a male character who talks more (srly girls are not in shortage but where are the men?). That aside, the combat is exciting and story interesting (at least for me). I do love me a good grind (I did spend more of less 70% of my playtime grinding ressources) but that might not be the case for everyone. You can take it ez though. I recommend you try it out for yourself. Can’t wait for more exciting updates. ;)

Summary: This is a pretty awesome game if you like SRPGs!

Story: It exists. It’s not great, it’s not terrible, just whatever. Pretty generic anime-esque stuff, a group of female fighters trying to take down the evil bad guys.

Artstyle/UI: Very good! The characters are clean and distinct, the attacks are flashy without being over-the-top. UI is tight and shiny, and easy to navigate. It’s anime style in the artwork, but chibi “big head” characters in the actual gameplay. It’s not distracting though, it’s very cute. Some character artwork is sexualized with huge cleavage, but compared to a lot of games of this stripe, it’s not over-the-top. Many characters are just badass/cool without being scantily clad.

Dungeon of Trials

Dungeon of Trials

Fun and nice game that still needs more development, but I’ll thumbs up anyway for its price and because we can see how much love and effort creators have put into it. I must mention though, I’ve refunded since it was glitchy (a bunch of blue lines in between tiles) and for some other small stuff that imo should be in the game from the start: options in menu to go fullscreen or even to exit game are non existent, and the guild improvement menu is lame - you have to enter each option just to learn what it is and how much it costs.

STORY: 10/20

You have been given charge of a guild, a poor guild that needs funds and building up. You delve deep into dungeons and dark caves to explore for treasures and gold, so you are able to make your guild the greatest guild there is.

You get a little story at the beginning of the game, and that’s about it. I did not come across any cutscenes or anything whilst roaming areas to bring you, the player, into the world more, shame really. I think the devs really need to revisit this aspect.

Simple and fun game. Very short, unless there is more stuff to do Im not aware of, but I found it enjoyable for how laid back the game is. The controls were hard to get used to, but once I did there wasn’t really any issue. Definitely an early access game as certain things don’t seem to be there or got weirdly cut off, but from what I see the dev updates the game often so Im sure it will be fun to keep up with. :)

NEOVERSE

NEOVERSE

At its core, Neoverse is a Slay-the-Spire-esque “roguelike” deckbuilding game where you play cards to clear combat encounters across three acts of increasing difficulty, each one capped off with a boss fight. It aggressively invites comparisons to its dark fantasy predecessor, being more similar than many others in the same narrow genre.

However, despite the fact that it saves a lot of effort by way of imitation, Neoverse is a rather different experience to play.

For one, Neoverse is more forgiving. Some negative reviews complain about the difficulty spike of the bonus boss, but while that encounter does require more care and preparation than anything else in Neoverse, it’s still nowhere near the teeth-grinding frustration that you get in many games with “Roguelike” elements that expect you to fail over and over until the RNG winds blow fair and you’re able to assemble that perfect winning combo. I’d go so far as to say that until you start pushing the harder content like higher-level Transcendent Universe runs or Challenge Mode, the game is actually pretty easy… at least if you have a good instinct, either learned from playing or transferred in from familiarity with the genre, for what to do in general. But, I would say instead that Neoverse feels much more ‘fair’ than most other members of the genre.

One of the best Spire-type games out there!

Without a doubt. If you like Slay the Spire, you’ll love this little gem!

The setting of the game puts us in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic “universe” where mankind stuck its d#ck in crazy when everything was fine and dandy as it was. As a result, humanity finds itself in QUITE the pickle with multiple realities slamming into each other like a night at the local rave club - only it’s not fun and drugs are nowhere to be found. Monsters, and God knows what else, start pouring through as dimensional shifts smash realities into each other and try to find a balance amidst the chaos. Naturally humanity was NOT ready for this level of f#cktitude, and - as could be expected - that which once WAS is now a complete, dilapidated mess.
