Speed Stars

10/10 game what can I say. I am addicted and the game really is harder than it looks. If you’re competitive and love track & field this is the perfect game for you.

Super Dodgeball Beats

Great game, this game definitely deserves more attention.

The game feels well polished, and the art is really nice. It only has a few song, though it has just enough for a rhythm game. But the music is really energetic, catchy and really fun. But some songs are only playable in certain difficulties, which limits the amount of song even more. It would be great if these songs were available for each difficulty. There are 3 difficulties and each difficulty has 12 songs. But in total there are a actually 18 playable songs.

Super Dodgeball Beats is a tap-to-the-rhythm game at it’s core, with a heaping load of personality in design, animation, and artistic styling. The basic flow of the game is not exactly a game of dodgeball as we typically know, since the win/loss conditions of each match plays out more like tug-of-war, having a meter at the top of the screen that sways to either your team or the opponent depending on how well each team performs. Powerups are gained by filling a secondary meter, which increases as you hit notes with good timing, and are used to hinder the opposing team, or help your own when they unleash an attack on you. The goal of each match is to finish the song with the central meter leaning on your side of the bar, leading to victory by dealing one massively stylised killing blow and knocking out the other team and progressing up the points ladder to reach a bracket style elimination tournament, and eventually win the finals for each level of difficulty.

I’ve played a lot of vr rhythm games and this one is just so unique. I love it.

I’m glad there was a demo since my headset isn’t listed as one of the ones supported.

Try the demo, then buy the game. It’s very reasonably priced.

Full disclosure: I’m developing a VR rhythm game and a big fan of the direction VR exercise is going. The orbs will have your shoulders burning quickly, the way they are spaced. Pretty basic game, but I still want to train and continue the missions and progress. This RPG concept is onto something and needs further exploring. Didn’t find any bugs and nice to have custom music challenge generator on release (maybe add ability to add music by folder). Rhythm hits have great timing. The orb sounds don’t match any type of music I know of and it’s a delayed sound, so have the catch sound disabled. Played on Rift S

You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/wTl0PeFFdVA

Boom Dojo is an improvement of Groove Balls, the previous VR music rhythm game from this same developer. Unfortunately, as it stands now, this game is still inferior to the average VR music rhythm game. There are much better VR music rhythm games out there.

There’s a disappointing lack of content. The game only has 1 map and 4 in-game songs. The core gameplay is not as polished as in other VR music rhythm games. While you are punching the matching colored object to your red or blue tattooed hand (or optionally also dodging bars) with music playing, the procedurally generated beatmap doesn’t really go with the beat of said music. At least you can play your own songs by moving your mp3s to your music folder.

It doesn’t look like much and it won’t teach you technique, but I actually found this to be one of the best VR boxing punch pad trainers out there. The patterns have just enough variation to keep me on my toes and I like how the difficulty dynamically scales up as you do well. Many of the other boxing trainers I’ve played force you to break important habits or are too focused on being a rhythm game. I wish this was less bare bones, maybe have an option that adds a little circling footwork and blocking, but it’s a good start.

First of all I’d like to commend the developer for putting the time and effort in on creating this program. I used to use Fitness programs several years ago in Xbox and Wii (such as Yourself Fitness), and I have been longing for something similar for the PC. So well done!

Some aspects of the game, such as the interface and resolution feel very basic and rushed, but given the price it is a very good deal.

Overall the game does what it states, as it provides complete exercise sessions divided into three difficulties. You have the option to customize the kind of exercise that you want (e.g. disable strength training, enable abs training), even though this could have been more detailed. Also, you can set the duration of the session. Finally, the soundtrack is excellent and well suited to this kind of program.

This is a home workout game.

  • You can increase the resolution size by dragging the borders of the game window.

  • Only windowed mode.

  • The game has no advanced graphics and the graphics are simple.

  • There is no color blind mode.

I really liked Upgrade VR. Four awesome tests that improve my speed and memory skills. It’s great that there is a mobile application where I can track statistics.

Yes, I know that it’s early access, but in the next updates, I would like to see more tests for the training with my friends, synchronize my data activity with Apple Health, and also I want to see this application on Oculus Quest 2.

Pros:

-Good tests training reaction speed and memory.

-Beautiful VFX of holograms.

-Interesting gameplay mechanics.

If you like the idea of brain training and also extending that to reflexes and hand/eye coordination, this will probably look interesting to you. Unfortunately it’s not for me and here’s why:

First thing you’re greeted with is a screen telling you to download some random app on your phone so you can get a sync code. Uh, no thanks buddy. I’ve got enough spies on my phone trying to track my every move (and probably succeeding more often than not despite my best efforts). I don’t need another, and why does it have to be a phone app? Other programs let you use a throwaway email to register an account, but not here.

Viro Move

Viro Move

Viro Move is a very nice VR workout, if not the best I’ve seen so far.

It helps you to train your whole body in a very effective way, not only your arms like many other VR fitness applications do.

(The way you have to move in Viro makes you really train everything, legs, stomach, chest, shoulders, your back and arms.)

And besides being a very effective workout it is also a lot of fun!

I would totally recommend this!

This game includes some gaming features of Box VR, Beat Saber, and Pistol Whip. The visuals are highly variable, making it a less monotonous experience in the long term.

The boxing mode is very intense and the squats are deeper than other games. It’s the best mode for workout so far.

The swords mode is less intense, but it seems to require a lot of precision to hit the targets. In my first attempt, I had a hard time getting the minimum score to unlock the 3rd level because I couldn’t hit the targets.

I know I’ll get fitter playing this game.

What the hell is a burpee? What is this one handed push-up nonsense? Squats I’m good with, running is fine, jumping without hands above my head is great. Punching the discs is fine. The points system is mad, I couldn’t compete in a points table in this unless there’s a dad-bod mode tiered system for middle-aged e-sport leagues.

This game has taught me much about my fitness levels. 1) I’m not fit enough to complete 30 minutes inside this game with a high score. 2) it doesn’t matter, because even if I do half of what the game is asking of me, I’m still moving and that’s an improvement on sitting on my arse at the desk.

5/5! Great improvements, new features, and updated songs, thank you!

VALVE Index Users:

  1. NO BURPIES! NO JUMPING, NO SHOES, SLOW TRANSITIONS B/W POSITIONS – unless your cables are suspended from above.

  2. Wear the controllers like wrist watches.

  3. Wash/disinfect your face gasket regularly. Steam Support recommended warm water or 15-30% alcohol wipes.

I’ve been playing this since it came out. I love this game so much that, even though I bent/broke my cable, Steam sent me a new cable and I still love this game!

X-Fitness

amazing vr fitness game. Has several difficulty levels to choose from and all the different movements really give you a total body workout. I also like that it feels like an even workout, some other fitness games leave me feeling like one arm was worked more than the other or i was dodging to the left all the time and never the right. The music is okay too, not annoying lol. i like the programs as well, but i do wish i could make my own program line-up in addition to the pre-made ones. overall, its one of my favorite fitness games.

Great potential here. I play BOXVR frequently, so it’s hard to not make the comparison.

This is WAY more fun to play. It feels like a game, and not a workout. Many differences make this a blast to play… When it works.

The hit detection is by far the worst part of this game. It’s frustratingly bad. It feels like the hit box is either way too small or the requirement to make contact is weird. The punches are the worst. They look like your supposed to hook, jab, cross, etc. But the ONLY way to hit them is a straight punch.
