No Straight Roads: Encore Edition
Can someone get me another Sayu? This one’s all melted!
All my hours are logged on the switch version (~150 hours), I love this game despite how gut punching it can be with difficulty and bugs (of which are mostly patched in this version). It makes up for all of it with its overflowing charm and dedication to fan service. My artwork is in the game too I guess! Underneath the bridge in Akasuka.

Underappreciated game with an incredible soundtrack, worth it for the music alone. If you are curious in the slightest then do yourself a favour and give it a try, you will fall in love!

Space Channel 5: Part 2
This is my first time ever writing a review for anything, so I hope that says something about how much I love this game! Where do I even start? the music is VERY good, the characters are really fun and the story is entertaining as well. theres a lot of different set pieces in levels that I find never leaves you feeling bored of the button pressing game play. I 100% recommend this game to anyone who likes rhythm games, or any sega/ dreamcast fans who never picked up this game before. I also think its really cool how theres different animations and lyrics to levels depending on how good your doing, lol. a couple of things that are kinda annoying is that the game sometimes gets out of sync with the audio, causing you to mess up, and sometimes when I press a button, the game wont reconize I pressed it. I find that you should play this game with the d-pad and not the stick, as it seems that it doesnt reconize when I shift directions on the stick a lot of the times, while with the d-pad it plays perfectly. I hope somebody finds this review helpful, have a nice day!

-
What the game features
-
What is good and bad about the game
-
A TL;DR (This is because the review is a lengthy read)
Important Note
It is worth mentioning that I have played this game for almost 40 hours as i write this review. This can mean one of two things:
1 - This chonky review can appear completely biased depending how you read it. Nevertheless, I will do my best to address everything I can

EZ2ON REBOOT : R
The good:
-
There are 230+ songs from all kinds of genres, one of the most varied song lists I’ve seen in a rhythm game. Also, we’re getting 4~ new songs each month for free.
-
I get over 500 fps on a slightly dated setup, making the gameplay smooth and input-lag free.
-
The difficulty distribution covers all skill levels, so both beginners and veterans can enjoy most of the content (except for the 8-keys mode, which only has 1 difficulty per song for now.)
-
The patterns are quite varied and complements the songs very well, there’s also modifiers to randomize the charts in multiple ways, so you can enjoy the same charts in different flavors

This review is aimed at newer rhythm game enthusiasts looking for another game to play and wondering if this game is for them.
What is EZ2ON ?
EZ2ON is a PC spinoff of the arcade series EZ2DJ (now called EZ2AC for legal reasons, more on that later) which is an hardcore (and I mean hardcore) rhythm game heavily inspired by beatmania. The series is considered extremely high quality by rhythm game standards and is beloved by a niche, almost exclusively Korean, really hardcore fanbase.
EZ2ON first released as a free to play game in 2008, shutdown then revived in 2013 with a new interface and some new songs, then shut down again as the free to play model wasn’t viable. The game was also exclusive to South Korea.

Groove Coaster
I have never experienced lag with the controls that a lot of other reviews mention. Not sure if it’s based on certain hardware? I only played a few games on the arcade version, after playing this, and keyboard is much nicer for input, although the control scheme and lack of movement takes away from the intended experience a little bit.
The biggest con about this version is that it has apparently been abandoned after less than a year, which is a ridiculously short time for a game with so much content on other platforms as well as potential future content. Also, there is a LOT of content that was never added to this version but is freely available in other versions. If you’re looking for active support and updates from the developers, don’t buy unless it’s cheap. It does go on sale sometimes at least, although DLC is at most 20% off (some are never discounted), so even combined with the 20% off bundles you’re still putting out quite a bit to get all the songs. I feel the price per song is reasonable, though.

NOTE: At the time of review, I have only played on a keyboard, and can therefore not speak on how it plays with a Groove Coaster controller.
Groove Coaster is a pretty neat rhythm game that has a surprising level of depth to it, but suffers from bad design choices and poor performance.
The game is very read-heavy in comparison to most VSRGs, which made it a very fresh experience for me as I’m predominantly a VSRG player. The read-heavy aspect comes from three factors, that the scrolling notes aren’t on a static plane, that input requirements are implied by different note shapes rather than note-location and the very flashy visualizers that come with every song.

Beat Souls
This game is super fun. Some of the early negative reviews got it wrong. TRY THE DEMO!
I do agree that Beat Souls isn’t a rhythm game. There are no judgement mechanics and the player’s input is separate from the music. The obstacles and collectibles of the stage match the music, the player’s input does not. This should be obvious from a quick glance at the gameplay trailer. Beat Souls is described as an “intense rhythm action game”, and that is a perfect description.
Most games that attempt to blend action game and music game fall short of my expectations (i.e. Thumper). Beat Souls is the first I’ve played that actually gets it right. The gameplay is solid and the rhythm elements aren’t extraneous. The game does a good job of easing players into the game by introducing new mechanics separately, and the gameplay doesn’t immediately fall apart once the difficulty increases.
– Real player with 12.1 hrs in game
Beat Souls is definitely a very fun rhythm game with much to offer and will definitely help you get better as long as you practice both Normal and Hard Stages several times over, you’ll eventually be able to master what the game has to offer, but even when you think you’ve mastered it all, the Infinite Hell Mode will keep you coming back for more and really push your skills to the test!
Overall, I’d definitely recommend this game for the cute and colorful graphics, characters, the catchy music, and the variety in stages that are offered to the player!

Ok so this game is a strange one though it is also growing on me. Once I figure out how to position myself and recenter my headset the game became amazing. Confusing in some parts, but it is a weird mix of games like BeatSaber but add’s in some bullet hell elements almost. Over all it is a pretty amazing game letting you play your own songs and each time you play it is different.
Check out a video of me playing it (not the best i know but hey i am working on it) https://youtu.be/-bIOfrJFFMA

HEPTAGON
This is a killer game, with a killer soundtrack. Open Hexagon and Super Hexagon fans, this is the game for you.
– Real player with 66.0 hrs in game
HEPTAGON is very near to being the perfect fanmade sequel to Super Hexagon. Not only does it bring the heat like never before, it also brings in totally new mechanics in every level, including changes in perspective, and red patterns that temporarily reverse your controls. In addition, each level has it own sets of difficulty (hard, harder, and hardest) that keeps the game a challenge as you refine your rotation skills further and further.
