Gravity Runner

Gravity Runner

An innovative platformer/runner from an indie dev. It’s fun and hard - each level ramps up the difficulty and throws some new obstacles at you. I love the aesthetics - the scenery, lighting and soundtrack set up a cool vibe.

A fun neon endless runner. As you progress more mechanics get introduced and the levels become trickier - and as you fall behind things get more chaotic and difficult!

Huge fan of the cyber neon graphic style.

you want to play a randomly generated runner game? this one is the perfect fit. you gain abilities, based on how many levels you’ve beaten and how many coins you’ve collected, to be able to purchase better versions of your abilities. like more hover time, a doublejump recharging more quickly, a jetpack or being able to shoot more bullets in the shooting sections. progress feels great! and the 3 castles are HUGE. was very fun to explore and play through those, but be sure to have all the necessary upgrades for it, otherwise you won’t be able to complete them. you unlock abilities before you hit a dead end, usually these abilities allow you to clear the castles. sometimes i’d say it is better to upgrade these abilities a bit first, as that will make the castles much easier. so play until you hit the gate, before you do the castles. that worked very well for me.

Dead Island Retro Revenge

Dead Island Retro Revenge

This is a pretty good game once you get over the fact that it’s not your typical beat em up brawler. I even purchased this game after knowing the fact that it’s not what it appears. After watching a couple of youtube gameplay videos, I still wanted to play it. So far it’s pretty fun. The game is not that hard as what other reviewers might make it seem to be. Just go thru the tutorial as it gives out tips on how to best/quickly defeat the enemies. Once you get a good rythym going, it’s a hell of good fun and quite satisfying. I recommend others to give this game a shot, BUT, only after you watch gameplay videos to see if it’s up your alley.

The House of the Dead: Overkill

How to sell something that won’t sell by itself? Put a well-known name on it. That’s exactly what we have here. Don’t expect this game to be a proper spin-off to Dead Island series. Because aside from the enemy types? This game has nothing in common with the main series. Literally. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Retro Revenge is just yet another one of those cheap games that want to sell you some empty SEGA Genesis nostalgia (as you can see, the game is covered into some retro-like visuals) without adding any special gameplay to it.

HeWantsToLive

HeWantsToLive

This is a side-scrolling action game.

Control him well and keep him alive.

He lives by the following rules.

When he breathes oxygen, he enters his initial state.

When he breathes hydrogen, he becomes lighter.

When he drinks water, he feels well enough to climb a hill.

Carbon monoxide is a poison to him.

Nitrogen monoxide is poisonous to him.

When he touches gold, he can survive.

No reflexes are required for this game.

However, it does require calm judgment and a little knowledge of chemistry.

The Neon Mate

The Neon Mate

Incredibly fun for the price range. Very enjoyable to play and is actually kind of challenging when you get into it and start trying to push your scores higher and higher

This game is a real rush- it gives a similar high to One Finger Death Punch. You’ll forget your keyboard is even there~ The best iteration on flappy bird! Also, I have been a following the composer here for a while and the soundtrack is on par! I just wish I could turn down the effects so I could enjoy it more.

I’m not the biggest fan of the visual execution, however I love psuedo-horror and there is plenty of flair here, from the bloody menu options that loom once selected, or the breif cutscenes when you’ve unlocked a new upgrade. Hey, for a couple of bucks that you might have stored in your Steam Wallet already (as I had) this is a pretty safe bet for those who like testing their reflexes!

MegaRace 1

Wow. This brings me back. Instant-buy.

For 3 bucks I could relive a major part of my childhood without fussing with getting my really old copy to run, just launch and go - with controller support (ish)

It’s great. So many great memories and Lance is just too funny. Even today it still plays well.

So for the positives the game does have rebindable keys, and works well with a 360 controller. And the game is at least playable but you can really tell this is the first in the series as it feels like a collection of half finished ideas.

Really it’s more of an on the rail shooter than a true racer, as you only ever 1v1. Add in some bad power up balance as well as limited tracks and cars to unlock.

So although it’s not totally awful and it is at least playable, I would only recommend you pick this up as part of the megarace pack and not on its own as the limited content will quickly wear thin.
