Patch 1.3 Please, pick it up on patch 3.1, however right now it’s a great game to gift to someone you wanna piss off;)
1. When building your dojo Items will disappear, only to never again reappear. This will also happen outside of the dojo building BS like when running thru level’s.
2. Requesting special items from the vendor, forget about it those get stuck somewhere between Okinawa & the North Pole.
3. Sometimes you jump thru walls like about 9&3/4 of the time, which would be great if this was a Harry Potter game, however not trying to get to Hogwarts here.

If you like Metal Slug & Martial Arts this game is a ton of fun, beautiful and varied levels, awesome music, cheesy voice acting and impactful combat that lets you do piledrivers on samurai into announcer tables and giant swings on ogres, as well as use your accumulated score to buy alternate colors from the shop, decorations for your dojo shelf and stat boosting amulets.
Tons of difficulty range for both accessibility (it uses a traditional belt system, going from white belt to black belt, then 1-8th dan, then Grandmaster and one special difficulty beyond that) and replayability through the higher difficulties that add more and more enemies. as well as 3 endings for all 3 characters, two brothers who are quite similar but have different key moves, and one girl who has a cool kung fu moveset that’s entirely different from the other two (you can do wing chun chain punch in this game).

Oh, Alright.
You are checks notes Gary, an unassuming nobody with no backstory, personality or, for the moment, voice, who got kidnapped by an evil cult aiming to summon their god into this reality. You are the final sacrifice. And you’re having none of it. You break out of your cell, and kill literally everybody so the cult cannot summon the great evil they worship.
#### A Window Into The 90s
3D enemies? 3D weapons? No. The enemies, the weapons, most of the props are all 2D sprites. What 3D models there are are crude and low-poly. Texture resolutions are abominable. I even wrote a special shader that lowers the apparent colour depth.
Commitment to the 90s aesthetic is near absolute: The sole exception is that the weapon viewsprites are normal mapped, which is anachronistic but looks so good.

#### Reinventing the Wheel
Unity? UE? Build?
No.
That would be easy.
Hecatomb is coded entirely in GameMaker. I had to do everything 3D myself. Among the things I had to figure out are:

Drawing walls and ceilings without tanking performance

How sprite-based enemies move

Shaders to restrict the colour palette

A normal mapping shader for the weapon viewsprites

How to calculate the position of bullet holes in a wall (it uses the tangent!)

How to bake lighting into the map

How mouselook works (Note: vertical mouse look is implemented, but disabled.)

And many more that cropped up over the months but I can’t think of right now.

Super Huey™ 1 & 2 Airdrop
I bought it mainly because I had it when I was a kid for The Atari XL/XE And the c64
Huey 2 was the best one
Huey 1 is okay for its time but controls are choppy. I only liked the Exploration bit
This version is only the C64 version Not the Dos version or the Atari XL or Atari 7800 version
I liked huey UH2x the best!

Retro Classix: Two Crude
Another great retro Beat ‘em up game to kill some time! Frustrating at times, but the action is superb.

Reminds me of the 90s big time. I remember seeing the Sega Genesis version and I wanted to try this game out since I heard the Arcade version is superior but I can tell you the hit boxes on the enemies are rough and it can be completed in 30 minutes. Its fun at first but the bosses hit boxes are terrible.

This is a 2D cartoon style shooting game!
The protagonist is a young tribal archer
Use bows and arrows in the game to fight evil foreign enemies
The difficulty of the game will increase over time

Stick Knight Takes Over the Universe
A fun game with some real challenge to it! It truly feels like an arcade classic, always making you want to try again, just get a little farther than last time. With fun and varied weapons, unique enemies, and zany levels, I’d say almost anyone would love this game to bits! Controls feel great, and like a well designed game should feel, no death feels like it was out of your hands, if you take damage or lose a run, it’s your own fault.
