Recon Control

Recon Control

Tactical Step-by-step shooter.  The main feature, which is the whole essence of the game, is 2D graphic - reminds me my childhood, those games, flashbacks))

So - here are big variety. Maps, missions (25 missions, 3 campaigns), tasks, developers did a really good job. Moreover, there are many types of guns, armor, equipment, different items. It is a very important point which I figure out while playing any game, coz when developers of each game don’t respect the player, their users: they create only 1-3 guns using which u have to spend all time passing the game - so it becomes rlly boring ;( But, in “Recon Control” it’s +REP ofc☆

This is great tactical gem.

Familiar gameplay of a tactical turn based combat with standard classes (sniper, heavy, shotgun, rifle), but everything is done just right. Visuals, variety, enemies, abilities, items - all is very good. Although the game is not long, this is a ton of fun as a more simple but very polished approach while you are waiting for a big title.

Really looked forward to this game had it on my wish list for a while!

I really enjoyed the pilot. The concept of being able to clean, fix and construct the items you find is really good.

Being able to sell in your items in the shop and being able to upgrade the shops interior is nice.

Searching for items like the golden loo rolls i thought was funny and drinking the strange moonshine i think was odd lol.. cant wait to see what the alien is all about.

The game play is smooth had no problems at all, graphics and audio are really good.

It looks promising and humorous. Nice graphics, I have not encountered any errors. I like that the game doesn’t tell you where to look for potential treasures, but you really have to look at every corner and hole. In addition to searching for junk for trade, you can also take part in garage auctions, and bought items can be cleaned and repaired later. You can even buy or find parts for, for example, a motorbike and later assemble it to sell for more money. I really felt very disappointed when the pilot was over. I look forward to the full version.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4

This is a genuine masterpiece.

I’ve been playing this game for 175 hrs on my PC and at least 300 hrs on my PlayStation 4, and I’ve completed Leon’s and Ada’s stories for at least 20 times, but I’m still not tired of it.

This game has been released for approximately 20 years meaning it’s quite an old game. Therefore, some glitches would pop up occasionally, and it looks inferior to many games which are produced within the last decade.

In a word, Resident Evil 4 is a legend, at least to me, based on the era it was created.

One of my new favorite games, such a satisfying experience to play through, and replay a few more times to master, find everything, and become as efficient with your resources as you can.

The first third of the game is such a fun, atmospheric journey, slowly navigating your way through the village, finding new items and searching for hidden treasures, managing your resources and sorting your inventory into order. Second third, while losing a lot of the atmosphere and intrigue of exploring, is still very fun, even if it’s a bit more action focused. The last third, or maybe more like last quarter… that’s when the game starts to lose me unfortunately, it loses pretty much everything I loved about the game up to that point, but it does not detract from my love for the rest of the game overall.

Original Review before bug fixes (Scroll down to see edited notes):

Now…where to begin. Well, first question that may be asked, is this game fun? Short answer yes, long answer no with a but. This game does something rather unique that hasn’t been done before (as far as I know), it allows you to play as a sword smith in a fantasy world where your goal isn’t to slay the big bad overlord or to plunder deep dungeons so that you may retire on a pile of “phat loot”, but to become the “best” blacksmith (sword smith as you only make swords) in the land. You can design your swords from various parts, choose which materials to use and then forge them into mighty swords from myth and legend. Sounds cool, is cool, BUT and it is a big but and I cannot lie…

Last Edited: 3/19/2019 for Patch 1.0.3 (see bottom of review for updates)

A game with quite a bit of potential despite getting delayed multiple times with no notice at all to the customers waiting (including release day, coming out over 5 hours late without any word) but if you are not a fan of Early Access games with a lot of bugs I would suggest waiting until a lot more work is done on this.

Current issues I have encountered:

Physics are more of a suggestion than a law in the world of Fantasy Blacksmith. The first thing that happened after I started playing was picking up the Thermometer, testing the current temp of the bronze ingot in the forge, “placing” them next to me, and getting catapulted across the room.

City Country

City Country

City Country is a city-building game where you manage resources, population, knowledge. You control various sectors of the city like education, medicine, culture, tourism, trading.

You start at some point into the map. Citizens will equally be separated into Men/Women and Farmers/Workers. The population will be separated into 4 different categories: Farmers, Workers, Engineers, and Academics. Any population category will work on different buildings and will have a unique family house.

You have the option to produce whatever you like, and what You don’t like, you can buy it at any time, or sign a contract for a later system that automatically buys the product from another city immediately. After that, you should sell part of the production so you can take some fresh money into the city.

As a governor of the city, your job is to grow your city, improve your resource incomes, sell your resources and take fresh money, make your city better for life, and manage city sectors as best as you can.

Government Sectors

  • Trading: - Sign a contract with other cities (AI) when you have less than N amount of resource, buy M amount of that resource, and vice versa.

  • Education: - Decide what to learn, how long, and when to start people’s education.

  • Medicine: - Improve the health of the citizens, and their lives.

Vivid Knight

Vivid Knight

This is a cute roguelite and auto-chess crossover. It’s very strategy-focused, and the difficulty makes it quite addictive, but some balance issues begin to detract from enjoyment once you’re deep in the game.

The Good

The core game play is roguelike, with your character exploring a maze and fighting monsters in turn-based auto-chess-esque combat. Each step consumes mana, a limited resource that refreshes on each floor, and your team begins taking damage when you run out of mana, forcing you to be efficient in your exploration.

Welcome to Auto Chess Darkest Dungeon, But Cute.

Jokes aside, this little game so far is one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. I do quite like the auto chess formula, but this game takes a quite unique spin on it which makes it really enjoyable for me.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews making comparisons to TFT and they’re not entirely wrong by drawing the said comparison.

That said, if you’re familiar with games like Auto Chess and TFT, there’s a few things this game does a little different.

Words Can Kill

Words Can Kill

Words Can Kill is a fusion of roguelike deckbuilders and word games. But this game isn’t about your vocabulary. It’s about your decisions and resource management. You will travel through the fantasy world and fight monsters trying to find a more efficient way to use your letters and your gear.

Features

  • Indirect synergies. It’s hard to consistently use a powerful weapon that requires 6+ letters for bonus activation with a deck full of rare letters and without additional draw sources.

  • Plan your future turns. Are you ready for a strong enemy attack on the next turn? Don’t use words now, place your letter tiles on the board and wait. This way you can make multiple blocks on the next turn and defend yourself.

  • RNG management. Replace tiles in your hand any time you wish. But pay with your health.

  • Upgrade your deck. That tile with ‘Q’ poisons your life. Remove it from the deck on your next visit to the forge.

  • Easy to learn, hard to master. The game has simple mechanics but deep strategy. Only a true hero can save the princess!

  • Dozens of random enemies, random maps, 100 unique items. It’s still a roguelike, so yet another stupid death awaits.

Bunker Defense

Bunker Defense

Tower defence at its best.

Ranks along side Defense Grid 2 as the best out there.

very challenging and great diversity

More levels a definite requirement..

Well, as a self-professed TD game addict, with lots of games to compare it to, this game stands out as one of the best overall Tower Defense games I’ve played. It’s a hidden gem that offers tons of varied action, ops for challenge (lots of replay ability), appealing story line, immersion and just plain fun. And, unlike many TD games I’ve played, even after the learning curve I have not felt bored with any level because they are all so varied and different.

The graphics are truly outstanding with a wide variety of enemies, weapons and maps (albeit IMO per the Early Access version, there needs to be some tweaking on gamma (adjusting within the game graphics, ie. shadow, worked great for me). The only other criticism (and this is being very picky) would maybe if they tweaked the zooming and angle controls for better visibility (I wanted to really check out some of those strange and awesome enemies)

Eternal Edge +

Eternal Edge +

After 5 hours of gameplay, here are my thoughts.

The game is a breathtaking world, very similar in layout to Legend of Zelda but with a flavor all its own. It has the look of N64 Ocarina of Time, which is not a bad thing at all to me. The gameplay is quite fun, the combat system has a bit of a Dark Souls flair with a challenge without being demanding (although there are some tough battles to be had!). The music is quite thematic and enjoyable while you explore the landscape.

It has a solid story that develops well through the quest system while not forcing you to be linear about anything. Take your time and explore and just take in the scenery. Like any good RPG, exploration is risky but rewarding for those willing to poke around. The equipment system is a nice touch as well, allowing you to convert things into materials or fuse them together to improve your powers. The scattered Eternal Essences gives you a sense of levelling up by letting you boost your stats. The dungeons, again very much Zelda-esque with the top-down view, are fun to dive into.

Bottom Line: Save Your Money

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

I’ve recently concluded a full playthrough and video series of this game on my channel, and I have to tell you that while I was initially charmed by this game, it proceeded to let me down harder as time went on. There were issues with controls from the very start, which were actually addressed by the devs, but it still made a rather bad first impression once I got into the gameplay.

There are issues all over the place that killed my attempts at enjoying this game almost every step of the way. The most prevalent and ongoing issue was the lousy hit detection. It would frequently find myself striking a monster, then the one or two follow-up strikes would simply hit air. It did not cost me any victories in combat, but it was extremely annoying. Additionally, while nothing seems mechanically wrong with the jumping, it feels very awkward. There are also many areas that seem traversable but actually snag you or hamper your movement, such as stairs that you have to jump to climb or rocks that look like they’re sloped and can be run up, but alas cannot. Another issue is your consumables inventory. If you acquire items above the allotted space, they simply don’t show up. I was unaware of this until very close to the end of the game. I had picked up numerous Grand Potions of Life, but when I went to look for them, they were nowhere to be found.
