Dark Prospect

Dark Prospect

My first experience with this game was building a giant wall to protect us against artillery, and losing my mind over having to go out and gather MORE resources because that damn monster tore it down. It was a hard fought battle that my wall unfortunately did not survive… it will be missed.

My second experience was going through a dark forest trying to find the objectives. In I walk through the barn door, and I see a box. I go to look at it and see I can interact with it, and thus I do. All of a sudden epic metal riffs are blaring through the surrounding area, and I am in awe. It is beautiful. I have decided that this new piece of technology shall follow me in my journey no matter what I face, and it shall be glorious. As I go to pick it up, I accidentally just tap the interact button and… the channel changes. Tears of joy welled in my eyes as it fully dawned on me what I had just discovered. The ensuing hours were filled with my dropping the radio to play my epic battle theme and mow down the enemy on my way to conquer the RTS player, who thought I was absolutely insane.

Day 1 Impression:

Direct and to the point. A FPS vs RTS!

The FPS side has a fun construction element to it. It is clear they have good FPS knowledge that they are building from. If you like FPS, you are ready to play this game and enjoy it. You can practice single player FPS in training.

The RTS side has a C&C like play to it. Much like most past RTSvsRTS games. You have 3 bases and you can build units out of them. I would say that the makers do not have a good grasp on the RTS side of the game but it has promise once RTS people give good feedback. They can only build the RTS side up from where they are now. You can not yet practice RTS in training but I am sure it will come around eventually.

This is my favorite FPS roguelite so far compared to Immortal Redneck, Strafe, or City of Brass. It kind of reminds me of Synthetik (another amazing recent game that no one knows) but in FPP instead of top-down. It already features a bunch of cool upgrades, abilities, and weapons and the movement in 3D is really nice. The ability to double jump and jump/strafe off the walls to avoid enemies is especially nice in the larger, more vertically oriented rooms that I would like to see more of.

All weapons are decently punchy, and they each have their own play style. Every one has a standard and alternate fire which adds some extra spice to the playstyle, because you’ll only be using 1-2 weapons per stage in the beginning. For example, the basic pistol ricochets with alternate fire, while shotgun shoots a long distance slug. They’re mostly projectile based, too, so the skill floor is higher than most.

Dammit, I want, I need, I crave some action. Got to be FPS, no more of that top down aRPG stuff. Done Diablo to hell, tired of complex Deus Ex, System Shock, Bioshock, Thief, Dishonored gaming. Even Dying Light has too many damn buttons. Something I can pick up and play after work, for either a short or long session.

I want some arcade like action. I don’t need no fricking doors. No more Elder Scrolls lockpicking. I want action.

I also want cool stuff. Like Liquid Nitrogen cool stuff. You know. What you don’t know? What is wrong with you young whippersnappers?! Ook, I’ll tell you what you want.

Blood And Zombies

Blood And Zombies

This game combines the base building of Rust and the game play style of Killing floor. At this point in the game (A 0.25 at the time of this writing) it’s just great. I’ve been looking for a game like this for a long time. BUT, I have a couple - to - few suggestions for the developer(s): First is obvious: this game would benefit exponentially from multiplayer (almost goes without saying, really). Second, well, once you get your base going it seems as if the zombies care more about vandalizing/breaking what you’ve built up than killing you, and most of the damage you’ll receive in the game is done indirectly (poison gas/electric zombies dying and leaving damage clouds). And three, the only major bug I’ve found while playing (in 4 hours mind you) is sometimes the camera gets a bit wonky. For example: I could hit the 2 key to switch to my secondary and the camera will flip, buying a new weapon will shove the gun into an awkward/unintended position (clipping through the camera), and facing the floor after looking at the menu (sometimes these issues can be fixed by switching weapons or reloading or buying a gun in the same slot, then returning to the first gun, but it didn’t for the crossbow). For an indie game so early in development, I’d rate it a 9.95/10.

Killing Room

Killing Room

IN A WORD: MAYBE

IN SHORT:

WHAT TO EXPECT: Indie game. Rogue-Lite FPS. Running man theme/setting. RPG elements affect gameplay. Average visuals and audio. Some humourous/comedic references. Steep learning curve. Expect lots of retries before first win. Great design, provides alot of replayability. Very well balanced. Gameplay is limited by restricted strategies. Uses assets. Better than the sum of its parts. Lacking in optimization/frame drops for some. A very few/rare bugs. Singleplayer only. It has absolutely nothing to do with Killing Floor.

Quick summary of what this is: Roguelite FPS with a reality tv theme. You begin a run with an audience rating of 40 and things you do while playing can add or subtract from that.

So far so good. That description and the demo video is why I bought this. However everything goes off the rails fairly quickly. All the guns are lame as hell. If a gun has any decent qualities, they are then ruined by the insane reload times and lack of ammo. The entire game is basically you running around a rectangular room trying to avoid getting hit while going through the 4+ second long reload time on a gun. And to make matters worse, there are beartraps all over the floor which do massive damage and stick you to that spot on the ground. It’s really not a great experience.

Vraiment cool, très chronophage, mais il faut s’entraîner un certain temps jusqu’à être assez bon afin que le jeu devienne intéressant

You might not think much of it at first, but turns out it is really fun, even a little addictive as you wanna try hard to beat your best score over and over again! The fact that we can now gain experience and win keys to open lootboxes also helps for you to just want to keep playing.

The gameplay isn’t that easy and may surprise you as you go through different situations, some harder than others, and visually, it does look pretty good, animations are fluid, and you get the hang of it pretty quickly.

BLACK DAY

BLACK DAY

8.5/10. BLACK DAY .. to buy or not to buy. Well here’s the deal.

If you have been frustrated by the lack of good tactical and infiltration games then this should already be in your library.

Reminds me of classic tactical games when they used to make them good.

This game features really well thought out maps. Sandbox customization. Diverse hostiles from human opponents to futuristic robots and everything in between and there’s more to come.

What i really enjoy about this game is the fact that it totally Lets the player decide how he wants to play. There’s no right or wrong way. Take the easy or Hard Way or if you think you can handle it Hardcore all the way.

Are you a fan of tactical infantry/special forces combat games such as the great Ghost Recon series? Do you enjoy game series such as Metal Gear and Splinter Cell ?

How would you like a DEEP TACTICAL SANDBOX experience that comes with x21 thoughtfully created maps for you to play with; a majority of which are just ENORMOUS in size and are BEAUTIFUL to see?

Altogether, Black Day generously gives us:

…x3 gamemodes

…x21 terrific maps (with time-of-day and weather variables!)

Fun to play for a short while, but it has some flaws that need fixing, like the fact that the RPG has no splash damage and you can’t shoot while crouching.

Very good for what it is, lacking in some areas, but that can easily be fixed with new content in future updates. A very solid base and easily worth the $10 in it’s current state, can’t wait to see what the future holds for this title!

Warning: Somehow the game is not being developed anymore and the Developer appears to not give any kind of message since April.

The game was great and it was evolving with features !

But somehow on the last update is unplayable now for me, because you have no pointer to even select to start the game.

I managed to start it anyway by luck and reached a level where an invisible wall blocks me and the enemies on the other side so basically there is not even a game to play.

So I do not like to post a bad review because the game was really fun when it worked, but right now this is an alert to avoid doing discovering this dissapointment and refund.

currently 5 minutes on record, but already love the game. I got this from my friend as a early birthday present when it was on a 50% sale. I couldnt have asked for a better christmas gift. I also heard that you have to scroll the mouse wheel to get a gun… brilliant. 10.5/10 game couldnt recommend it more.

Try To Survive, the game that you can shoot people in. That’s it. You can’t even shoot people that long, you only get so much ammo; with no way to regain as far as I can tell. I suppose it is kind of nice to just shoot people every now and then.

TL:DR its ok at best.

If you like achievement mining games thumbs up / recommended otherwise you might want to wait for more updates.

It has nice looking weapons, graphics and models but gameplay needs a lot of work such as recoil, movement and AI (they just run at you).
