Raji: An Ancient Epic

Glossary:

Asuras – Half Brothers of the Hindu Gods but bascially Demons

Devas – the Hindu Gods.

Once in a while, an uncut gem arrives in the gaming market. You see this game on the Steam Store, and you’re amazed. It’s dazzling splendour, it’s the fantastic art design and its engaging story. Then you realise that this uncut gem remains an uncut gem because it has more potential. It has so much potential that if expanded with DLCs and free updates, this game can become even greater. The main strength of this game is a strong story and a solid artistic design. Its puzzles are fun, but they can be complex for a beginner at first. I failed many times having to defeat multiple bosses and it was frustrating, to say the least. Many moments kept me scratching my head on how to defeat the Asuras.

Submerged

Submerged

Submerged

is a single player exploration/adventure game set in a partially submerged city, the remnants of an undisclosed apocalyptic event. You play as a nameless older sister trying to save the life of your younger brother who has suffered a grievous wound that has caused him to slip into a coma. What happens in this submerged city will decide the fate of both you and your brother.

Story

The story in Submerged is quite interesting in its presentation. Rather than relying on dialogue, notes, or anything coming close to resembling that, it relies solely on actual exploration which triggers events and unlocks hieroglyphic frames that in turn unveil a riveting and yet somewhat indistinct tale.

I think the biggest flaw of this game is that it fails to surprise you in any way.

I was initially going to recommend this game after playing it briefly because the premise is amazing. Exploring the ruins of a half-sunken city to find a cure for your sick brother? Strange, infected creatures? A story told without words?

And for a while, it totally is. The environment is amazing; the first time you climb a tall building, you are blown away. You notice movement behind the corner and you half-expect an ambush. A huge orca swims through the wide canals, so you take the narrow ones to keep out of danger. You avoid the green puddles with plants growing from the sea like the plague. And you’re very careful whenever you climb to avoid falling. And all of this build-up goes nowhere.

Another enjoyable VN which actually links to The Bahamian Rhapsody and Colorado Cocoa Club VN’s.

I did expect more options like the Others But I feel the one you can end up with is lovely.

Though the Doctor was cute to.

I would guess this was Before Cocoa though as her sister had just gone to Jamaica.

Nice little Yuri

As a fellow British Englishman who enjoys the pleasures of drinking Tea & Coffee, I’m also a Yuri fanatic and I Approve of this game.

Don’t let my hours trick you in thinking there’s LOTS of content to play, I accidentally left the game on a couple of times. At MOST you can finish the game in around 5 hours, if you wanted to read everything and see the different option outcomes and enjoy the lore.

What I did expect was more romance options and people to choose from but nope, didn’t really mind though.

Endurance Labyrinth

Endurance Labyrinth

This game was made by the Devil.

Normal mode was made by Devil’s bully.

Seriously, I thought a maze game would fit in the puzzle category, but it’s like this is a soulsborne or something like that.

Started to play and died, died, died and died. Finally finished the damn thing, and FIVE HOURS HAVE PASSED WTF

The game is cheap, cute, simple to learn, easy (it actually is easy) but SEVERELY PUNISHING. If you don’t have photographic memory, you will know what I felt playing it.

A good game for those who enjoy a challenge.

Beautiful graphics, simple and efficient mechanics. However, the navigation within a chapter is more than cryptic; and it looks like it’s possible to have a sneak peek at some of the 15 chapters… I found that part totally confusing as the chapter is selected by simply hovering over it (it then has the little glitter around it). One slide in the carousel shows this. I completed the 6 story levels of the 1st chapter, and then moved on to the levels with coins and gems. Hint system seems adequate once you can use it. On the fence about this one… Price will be a factor, so will revisit once released.

Freedom: How I Escaped

Freedom: How I Escaped

For those who like stealth, maze, and puzzles, this is an early access game with potential.

It has a simple objective, avoid the lights, and run to escape from the place you are.

Nice voxel art and sound.

I had problems controlling the character with a keyboard because my brain thinks I’m playing resident evil 2 when in this kind of camera haha (in re2 when you press up you walk forward). But then I used an xbox controller and it worked perfectly. I wish to suggest an option for the player to change the camera when needed, maybe just cut to another camera angle (like age2 you can “rotate” the map).

A puzzle game with an inspiring theme and very cool Voxel art. Music makes you enter that world and forces you to want to go through all the levels, seeing the challenges that lie you ahead.

Congratulations developers, I want to see more levels soon!
