Before We Leave

Before We Leave

I have personally been enjoying this game very much! I appreciate that I don’t need to worry about war or combat, nor must I consider the monetary value of my peoples (ie. slavery). It still can be challenging, and I was pleasantly surprised by the little challenges it throws your way (ex: the gremlins!). The aesthetic is very pleasing, and it isn’t very demanding graphically. I would definitely recommend this! I’ve written out some of my experiences and some tips! ♥

  • The Tutorial -

Doing the tutorial is a good idea and I do recommend it, but the tutorial will take you through pretty much the whole game, or at least deep into the mid-game – this could literally be hours and hours lol. But I would suggest stopping after you have started to explore your second planet., then proceed to your own games.

Before we leave is one the best games I have played in a long time for getting right into the game and understanding what to do. It’s not because it’s easy or simple. It’s because of the amazing job they did with the tutorial system and explaining the basics of the game.

EDIT: I would now no longer recommend this game, I haven’t played it in a long time as it has sadly been abandoned by the developer, leaving promised improvements incomplete. It is a shame as I believe this game had real potential had the improvements been implemented and more content added.

I’m really enjoying this game so far, even though it is obviously still in the early stages of development. After several restarts I think I have finally mastered the basics and have figured out how to make my ranch reasonably profitable. I’m slowly but surely getting better equipment and working my way up to more exotic and profitable breeds. There are a few downsides, the controls seem a bit clunky as it can be hard to click exactly where you want to. It could also do with a more in depth tutorial but I’m sure this will all come in time as the dev seems very responsive to ideas on the forum. All in all a good game which I am having a lot of fun playing.

City Country

City Country

City Country is a city-building game where you manage resources, population, knowledge. You control various sectors of the city like education, medicine, culture, tourism, trading.

You start at some point into the map. Citizens will equally be separated into Men/Women and Farmers/Workers. The population will be separated into 4 different categories: Farmers, Workers, Engineers, and Academics. Any population category will work on different buildings and will have a unique family house.

You have the option to produce whatever you like, and what You don’t like, you can buy it at any time, or sign a contract for a later system that automatically buys the product from another city immediately. After that, you should sell part of the production so you can take some fresh money into the city.

As a governor of the city, your job is to grow your city, improve your resource incomes, sell your resources and take fresh money, make your city better for life, and manage city sectors as best as you can.

Government Sectors

  • Trading: - Sign a contract with other cities (AI) when you have less than N amount of resource, buy M amount of that resource, and vice versa.

  • Education: - Decide what to learn, how long, and when to start people’s education.

  • Medicine: - Improve the health of the citizens, and their lives.

  • Culture: - Improve the knowledge of the citizens. And be a more attractive city for foreign peoples.

Cruise Ship Manager

Cruise Ship Manager

Fulfill your dreams of watching over a beautiful vessel, a large crew, and all sorts of passengers in Cruise Ship Manager!

Take cruises to a next level in this unique management game. Choose how you want your cruise ship to be built, make sure everything runs smoothly, set the prices for the passengers, and become a legend of the high seas!

Choosing the layout of the ship is up to you! Decide on the layout, where to place a canteen for your crew, and where 5-star restaurants should be. Does a casino strike your fancy or maybe an open pool? And don’t forget about rooms for your passengers! Make sure everything is well connected and that you keep enough money for food or fuel.

Pick your crew wisely. Their skills will lead to your success or failure. Once you leave the dock, you’re stuck with the people you chose so make sure you don’t regret hiring an untested rookie over an experienced veteran.

Once you settle on the amenities and prepare the necessary equipment, you can finally search for passengers to invite onto your ship. But there’s a catch - it’s not up to you who buys your tickets. So price your tickets accordingly. You might charge a premium if you do, your passengers will feel entitled to the best service there is and it won’t be easy to satisfy them. On the other hand, you could sell the tickets at a low price and improve your budget through other means. For instance, by charging extra for fancy cocktails.

As your renown grows, more people will want to experience the thrill of signing up for your cruise. Build your brand and reach a point where people will pay any amount of money, just to say they were on your cruise ship!

You have the power to choose the route your cruise ship shall take. Would you rather make some quick cash on a routine, 2-day cruise? Or maybe a long journey through the Bermuda Triangle is what strikes your fancy? You might be paid more for trips to exotic places but beware of the storms. Lives could be at stake if a fire breaks out or engines malfunction. It will be your task to end such a crisis - before it’s too late.

Features:

  • A cruise ship of your own that you can customize to your liking

  • Resource management (fuel, food, etc.)

  • Incredible variety of unique passengers with different expectations and behaviors

  • Random events

  • Crew members that have their own needs

  • Route selection

  • Many unique rooms to add to your ship

  • Unlimited fun!

Rap simulator

Rap simulator

Rap Simulator is in basically a production with a great deal of humour. The action starts in the 80s of the last century. The player takes on the role of a rapper who sets up his first music studio in a rented apartment. Our task is to break out of the underground and become a part of the mainstream for good, opening our own label or creating the best clothing brand. Beefs, chases, money, green leaves, shootings, gang wars or maybe a softer way to success? The way the player chooses to reach the top will depend only on him/her. At the beginning of the game, the player’s budget is limited, so you have to decide which aspect of the production you want to devote more attention to at the cost of the other elements.

Our musical works are reviewed by the industry press, which affects our sales results. The tastes of listeners become more and more sophisticated every year, so we have to constantly create newer and newer things and use the best possible equipment. As the complexity of our music projects increases, we will be forced to hire more staff and change our premises to larger ones.

Real hip-hop events take place in the background, so if the player’s story goes well, he or she will be able to record songs together with hip-hop legends or start beef with them, which can change the history of hip-hop. Additionally, the players will be able to learn about the history of foreign hip-hop. In the game you will find, among others, elements related to the legends of rap. The rap songs by various artists, which will be played in the background, will complement everything.

Game elements:

  • Start a game in the 80s as rapper

  • Editor (create new character, edit other npc/rappers etc.)

  • Change the history of hip-hop

  • Research new technologies etc.

  • Move into bigger music studios

  • Unlock secret characters

  • Multiplayer

This is the game for Vibing!

Its super chill and the perfect for winding down.

The music really sets the mood of the game and the next thing you know you know, you’ve lost track of time and its time for bed. The controls are intuitive and the shortcuts become muscle memory, navigation works well and the UI is clean.

First play I sat there and completed the campaign mode and am now ready for getting those achievements in “Run mode”. Campaign helped to learn how the economy works and gave some backstory to the “signals”.

I really wanted to like this game. I don’t like combat games, or games that test hand-eye coordination. This has a lot to like for somebody like me. The problem is the interface. There’s no decent help. I passed challenge #1, but couldn’t pass challenge #2. So I tried the run mode. There are three icons at the top of the bottom bar. I can’t repair the portal until I have all three resources, and I can’t even figure out what the third resource is. Whatever I do, it stays at zero. It might be titanium, but I’ve three three runs and checked every planet and I can’t find any with titanium. And I can’t find a way to get advice. So I’m done.

DO NOT BUY! This game can be fun but…only for the first hour when your small i thought it was a tycoon game and it doesn’t feel the way. It feels like Rimworld except the challenge is the weather and the “supply and demand system” so i will explain

Weather: Its too unpredictable it feels like some years your in Arizona where it hardly rains and the next year you’re set down in Washington and it rains all the time and sometimes not enough for crops to get ripe, even with no foliage. I enjoy challenging games but tycoon games don’t come to mind unless there is AI and ill get to that later. There is absolutely no research for predicting the weather if they get too ripe you can usually bring them down but if rains so much they don’t grow it is almost a guaranteed FAIL. In the start of the game its easy to deal with but in later stages two bad years you will spend almost a half a million in maintenance and if you can’t produce anything with the rain never stopping and rot eating into you’re yield you are doomed. There needs to be a way less RNG, I want a challenge, not a game based on luck, it just feels very lazy, even for such a cheap game.

Fair warning, I know nothing about wine but I am a big fan of tycoon games so I thought I would give this a try. I’ll deal with the positive first, the game’s graphics are attractive if minimalistic, and serve their purpose nicely. I appreciate the option to pretty up your vinyard with assorted items to create a nice looking creation. The full voice acting is also nice, if somewhat unneccesary. The problem though is with the core meat of the game, the winemaking and tycoon-ing. Making wines is initially a huge challenge, and you will barely scrape through the start of the game with no real knowledge of how to create each wine or the facilities to do so. Slowly, you learn the ‘recipe’ for each strain and can begin to make a 5-star wine every time, quickly accumulating vast amounts of money. Initially, I was stumped by how to increase my renown enough to upgrade my estate or unlock helpful worker tools, but then I realised that the Tavern, a relatively cheap building which also makes tons of cash, earns you an absurd 6 renown per month (for context, a month is about 30 seconds uninterrupted). Once I knew that, the difficulty curve completely reversed and there was no challenge whatsoever. I upgraded to the maximum and researched all tools and techniques within a couple of years, and hadn’t really needed to use any of them to get to a point where I was a millionaire with maximum reputation and totally bored stiff.

Retested after several months (Juli 2020):

This game still has bugs, this game still is not an example of a feature-rich tycoon game, by far not. It has still some way to go, before it is recommandable, but it is not that bad today, as it was last year. There were real improvements, new features, better tutorials, and a bit better math.

But all in all, there is at least some kind of game inside this product now. You can fiddle around with the different menus and most of them do what they tell they do. So this is a reason, that brings me to the point, that I will change my review. I do see a chance, that this will become a real game, if the Devs invests a bit more time. It will not become a “great game”, but at least something where a player can have some interaction and maybe a little fun with for a short period

Okay so I’ve only played this for 28 hours. I might review this again at 250 hours and start a class action against Gabe for wasting my time. As it stands now this is my cup of tea. I like Euro games with a flow. Normally with a few people to balance the strategising. This is a solo game but captures the dynamic feeling of adjusting on the fly.

EVERYTHING IS IN FRONT OF YOU

You can connect the dots from the start or you can make incredibly predictive strategic placements to backfill.

I am not interested in games that make me go look at an Excel spreadsheet just so I can play. This game has all of it inside the game in an amazing way. Its inbuilt instructional tab is an exemplary way to get people rolling with all the components they need to know. Come back to this after a few runs and fill the gaps you missed.

SUMMARY: A must-buy streamlined space-empire management game that’s easy to play, challenginghas surprising depth, and plenty of game modes. The kind of game you can play in an hour - or constantly.

Slipways is a game of space-empire management that is so streamlined it approaches being a puzzle game. Yes, there’s exploring, tech trees, and more. But boiled down to basics, you get both the click-of-idea thrill of a puzzle game AND the fun of managing your space empire. The combination is heady, fun - and challenging.
