BRINK Traveler

Beautiful & breathtaking views look great in this VR experience. Looking forward to more locations to be added. One problem I faced during launch of the program (using my Oculus Quest-2) is the audio remaining on the PC speakers and not on the headset. Every time I have to manually change the audio device to the headphone of headset. Other thing I did not like is to separately downloading each scenery which takes a lot of time as they are pretty large and waiting during this time spoils the experience somehow. If during installation all the destinations are downloaded at the same time with the option to delete the ones I do not like later would be great. Otherwise a great experience.

This is a great little piece of virtual tourism and provides a little inobtrusive education along the way. The night view appears to be just a filter over the day view with a different skybox but that’s a minor niggle when the rest of the experience works so well.

An undocumented feature I discovered accidentally is the ability to reframe an ingame screenshot; Take a picture (with Valve Index just point one palm away and one towards you in the “photo framing” gesture), and if you don’t have the shot aligned perfectly you can grab the image card and move it around the scene to correct it before saving - very handy.

Good fun so far, i played up to level 8 last night.. Kept me very entertained.

But i do have some issues…

What i think is currently wrong.

Collisions are a big issue.. Mostly with the tools, but it’s safe to say collisions are “twitchy” at best through out. The way the tools snap to your hand and face the right direction causes problems with saws or hammers suddenly spinning through a desk, knocking all of your cut bits of wood AND your off cuts across the room, mixing them all together.

What i think would work better for that, is relative positioning. The hammer is vertical in the rack.. If your hand is 90 degrees to the hammer (correct position) then when you grab it, its still 90 degrees to the hammer, but if you grab it with your hand tilted down, so its now only 30 degrees, rather than the hammer jumping another 60 degrees to snap into the correct position, it stays grabbed at 30 degrees to your hand. Same kind of issue with picking up the saw off the workbench, relative positioning would probably solve that too.

Meditation Journey: VR Zen Garden

Meditation Journey: VR Zen Garden

It’s nice to just have a beautiful, safe environment like this to wander in after playing too many VR horror games. I like the pleasant voices that are used in the guided meditations. I’ve tried many audio programs and found that the subconscious is more receptive and trusting of a guide who believes or at least seems enthused about their message. Everything about this garden feels positive. I’d add some more guided meditation if it fit in well.

A great way to relax and focus your mind on better things. I love the bed area surrounded by flowers, laying on my back in my real bed looking up at the twilight effects. Recommended!

NoLimits 2 Roller Coaster Simulation

NoLimits 2 Roller Coaster Simulation

No Limits 2 is hands-down the best roller coaster program I’ve used. It has a nearly endless seeming list of new features, most of which make things a whole lot easier than No Limits 1. There really is no competition. It’s like comparing school cafeteria food to Olive Garden. It took 8 years but it was worth the wait.

I really like how much easier the building system is compared to NL1. That’s one of my favorite things about NL2. That combined with auto-heartlining the track, I feel like I can build any sequence of curves how I want, in any shape. I don’t really feel the need to look back or live in the past.

Okay, so you are curious about buying this product? If yes, please read this before making your decision.

1. NoLimits 2 is a fantastic piece of software, yeah, software, because, according to the makers, they are targeting realism now and they prever to call it a simulation-program. Keep in mind this ISIN’T RollerCoaster Tycoon or Thrillville.

2. You can’t be a sadistic a-hole and watch people die, 2 reasons: there aren’t any peeps in the entire simulation, just steel, wood and foliage. The second reason is that you can’t crash a coaster, if it hit’s the end of the open track it just displays and error stating that the coaster has crashed.

So the best part about this game, and the reason why it may be worth a free download, is because you can give everyone a facial. No, get your mind out of the gutter. I’m talking about puke. You can puke on everyone and everything. You can aim for the head, body, feet, grass, whatever you’re into. Puke as much as you want. Eat some cotton candy.

You can also ride the ferris wheel for free. And a train. Walk around the park, puking and demo-ing the other rides. The demos take about 10-40 seconds. If you actually want to experience the full rides, each and everyone one of them, you’ll have to pony up $34.94 USD. LOL, yeah, I’m not kidding. Everything I have said so far is true about this game.

Pretty disappointing. I love amusement parks so I was hoping this would be interesting but there are a ton of problems that need fixing before anyone should be expected to pay money for this.

  1. The game runs very poorly on my i7-9700k and RTX 2080S and nothing should run poorly on this computer. (Edit 8/30 - As of the latest patch, performance is greatly improved but still not perfect. Every 3 seconds like clockwork the game hitches slightly as if a process is updating that really isn’t optimized well enough. All of the below feedback also still applies.)

This is such a fantastic application! I don’t mess with VR too often; but when I do, I like to open this application and explore the different systems of our bodies. It’s really relaxing and a lot of fun if you love anatomy. They are still updating the application from time to time with more information and features and I can’t wait to see what they’ll bring to us in the future. Such a fantastic learning tool!

I hope they expand on the quiz system, though - I’d love to be able to take a quiz on an entire system or customize the quizzes more, as well as being quizzed in other ways than simply pointing at 10 random parts of an organ every time. For instance, an idea would be for the user to be given the description of a body part, then s/he would have to select the correct part. Another idea is for the program to point to a body part and the user would have to select from a multiple choice list of descriptions of that body part. One more idea would be to have a list of body part names (or their Latin variants) and another list with descriptions of those parts, then the user has to match up the names with the descriptions. These are just ideas, though, and perhaps other users wouldn’t be as excited about these features as I would be.

I’ve played the free version in the past and just bought this one because I really liked the free version and wanted to know what’s new and all the improvements. So far, I really liked my experience. It might not look like it when you look at the text below, but these are little bugs mostly. Overall, it’s clearly worth it. There is so much information but well presented in this, it’s awesome.

What I liked the most:

-The graphics are really good

-There are more and better animations (sometimes a bit disgusting but that is really how the body works! lol) I really liked the intestine movement and the eye

Simple LOTO Simulator

Simple LOTO Simulator

A software training simulator in which you have the capability of a lock out and tag out with equipment has potential. This simulator gives you correct proceedures for simulating a LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) of a motor in distress in one scene and in the next scene to re-engage it with a bonus at the end. If anyone has an interest to train in this simulator, this would be perfect for you.

Simple LOTO Simulator is a free VR game that is also an edutainment game. It worked on my system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Can be glitchy, might take a few runs to get to the end. The dev made this to teach about Lock Out Tag Out protocols. There is some instructions on using VR and description of items for LOTO.

Try this, if you are working in industrial setting.

There are now 3 bocce games for VR. Bocce VR Simulator is the newest edition. While I haven’t played the others, I can recommend this one. It’s solid all around. You can play single player against AI on easy, normal, or hard difficulty or you can play local multiplayer (pass the VR headset around for 2 players).

You have full locomotion available with snap turning. The physics seemed fine to me. The throwing physics and the ball collision physics all seemed realistic. I did not experience any issues playing this game. The game ran fine on my 1060 GTX at a steady 90 frames per second. It’s running on the Unity Engine.

CURSED NIGHT - The House

CURSED NIGHT - The House

It is a really good game, tbh it is a jumpscare game literally, i liked it.

However, if i can get some help with it because apparently I got stock here: (Spoiler alert)

! Right after I got the fourth baby toy cube/block, I know i have to spell the word DEVIL, I was missing the letter L, I was also missing the orange Key and 3 other pink fuses…

So I was wondering if i can get some help?

Update

Well, after I completed the game I can say it is a really good game, puzzles, jumpscares, nice environment, graphics are just amazing (I played on a 3070 Ultra settings).

I’m giving this a neutral recommendation. While I did enjoy this game, I do think it is way overpriced for what it is. It took me approximately an hour to beat this game and the production values here just don’t justify the current $14.99 USD price tag.

So this is a campy, B horror, type game that does rely on jump scares. However, I thought the jump scares were done right in this game. What I mean by that is that they were paced correctly, made sense in the context of the game, and added the right amount of atmosphere while trying to find a way out of this house.
