// !! This is with all graphics settings maxed out. The game gets a degree worse every step down from max texture settings. !! Graphics are fine, nothing to write home about. Identical models are repeated throughout in a small space, greenery has no texture and the sausages are grey. The rubber flooring develops a DDPAT pattern at night when the reflections bounce off it. Vehicle Interiors are generally fine although resolution has been lost due to optimisation, just dont scroll in and you’ll barely notice it although in the LF24 the interior is just messed up. Exteriors can be fixed with workshop skins although out of the box, they are forgivable. Not many cars on the roads, none drive by the fire station probably so that AI collisions or detrimental interactions dont happen during a callout. If you turn up your ped count, the traffic mimics more of a small town rather than a large city like Mulheim and same can be said with car traffic. Variety for both cars and characters are rather limited as for the latter, full characters are generated rather than pieced together randomly and the former, there just isnt enough colours to make it liveable. //

I am someone who enjoys firefighting games a lot so I really want to like this game, here is my review of it:

This game should not have been released in this state. However I do think it is playable.

Bugs, there are a lot of them, from mirrors that completely obliterate performance to non functioning equipment (all essential equipment works).

Content, there seems to be very little. From what I have been able to translate (more on that later) they planned on releasing more calls/incidents in the days/weeks after release.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad with Rising Storm

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad with Rising Storm

Probably the best MP ww2 game you will find out there(on par with RO1 and its Darkest Hours Mod). Even tho it was released years ago it still delivers the best Multiplayer Experience out there.

Pros:

  • Realistic Supression system;

  • Morale Feature;

  • It comes with the Eastern Front, focusing in the Battle of Stalingrad where you can play as German and try to change history or play as a Russian Soldier and defend the Motherland at all costs. As for the Pacific Front, wich focuses on the “Island Hopping Campaign” where you can fight as a Japanese or US soldier with both of the factions having different strenghts and weaknesses, for example, the US have acess to automatic weapons more frequently, from m1 garands to thompsons and bar´s and the dishonorable flamers(yes they are dishonorable) and therefore have a massive firepower advantage over the Japanese.

This game, is an absolutely amazing game. It is set in and around Stalingrad, where the Germans and the Russians face off for victory. It is also set in and around the South-East Asian-Pacific region, where the Japanese and the Americans face off for victory. It is brutally realistic and gritty. A bullet from most weapons to the torso will kill you most of the time, same to the kneck or head. To the arms or legs most of the time it will wound you. Even if you are not killed after being wounded, if the wound is anywhere other than your limbs, you must patch yourself fast or you will bleed out, just like in reality. If it is in your limbs you may or may not bleed out, sometimes you have to judge if its better to run to cover and then heal, or heal on the spot and hope you don’t get shot again. Or maybe you don’t need to heal at all and you can save your bandages for worse wounds. The weapons have realistic recoil, and clear advantages and disadvantages for all situations. The Germans favor medium to long range fighting, the Russians medium to short range. The Germans and Russians are both perfectly capable of attacking and defending, but the Germans have an edge when it comes to attacking due to having longer ranged weapons, the only assault rifle in the world at the time, and machine guns with very high rates of fire that are very good for pinning the enemy down. The Russians have an edge on defense due to being good at letting the enemy come to them and grinding them down in close quarters fighting, along with the superior PPSH 41 sub machine gun, and superior mosin nagant bolt action rifle with its amazing accuracy that can blow the enemy away at close range even with sloppy aiming. Basically, some weapons for one side are superior to the other’s equivalent. The audio in this game is stunning and extremely intense, much better than other shooters. This game is also extremely reliant on team work, no one-man armies allowed. If one team is communicating and working together, and the other is not, then the team that is working together will crush the other one. If both are doing what they are supposed to be doing then you get incredibly intense matches.

Engine Evolution 2020

having followed the development of the game since its earliest days, i can definitely say that the project has come an extremely long way, despite there still being a ton of obstacles ahead

it might not be the most polished or complex motorcycle racing game out there, but it provides a fresh and original perspective - with racing on temporary road courses at the forefront, which is a concept only explored by the TT titles; the main difference is, those are full-fledged AA games with a corresponding price tag, this - an indie game largely developed by one/two people, completely free (if you spend the time on it) and still largely satisfying to play against others

I’m going to start off by saying that this game has major improvement potential. For a free racing game this is an amazing game, the graphics are very good, the physics are decent and the a.i. is very well coded. I do have to say thanks to the devs for putting so much work into this game as I know there are not many of them. Updates are released pretty frequently but there are still improvements to be made.

I do have to comment on how this game is not optimized well. The game in total is around 4GB and I don’t see why a game like this has to take up so much space. Even though the graphics are very good you do need a good graphics card such as the 1080 or the 2060. As I stated with optimization I do feel like the game could be optimized further with the graphics as well with the storage. I am no coder or developer so I do not know how much work this would be but if it is easy and possible I feel like it is something that the developers should be working on as there is a GPU and chipset crisis going on in the world right now.

Insurgency

Insurgency

Many of the games at a 60$ price aren’t worth that amount. This game is definitely worth MORE than 15. It doesn’t matter if it’s on sale, you should get this game and tell your friends to get it. Here is why:

I have accumulated over 1,200 hours on this game and have actually founded a competitive insurgency team. It’s only fair that I give the game the review it deserves. If you want to know about a lot about the game before you buy it, you’re reading the right review.

The Competitive Scene:

The competitive scene, while not as big as CSGO, has been mostly developed by the players-many of which have played the game for a long time. These leagues (DGL, ESL, ANZ) spread across every region of the world and have offered regional seasons, tournaments, draft tournaments and even world cups. No matter what region you are from, you can play this game. I’ve played with guys from South America, America and Canada, Eastern and Western Europe (from the UK to Ukraine), Australia and New Zealand, etc. The game does not boast ten’s of thousands of players but the players that play this game in the competitive scene are very dedicated. It is not as hard to learn how to play as it used to be because the game has been allowed to develop and the players have figured out how to play the different maps in general. If you’re wondering what “game type” the competitive scene revolves around, it’s a game mode with 3 points that you can capture, objectives similar to that of the battlefield genre or starwars battlefront. You own one, they start owning one, and then there is a neutral point. If you cap a point, you bring your whole team back. You start with 5 players and they start with 5 players, you fight to the death to kill the other team, using all sorts of strategies and tactics, but also try to potentially cap a point (or bait a cap) and bring the rest of your team back. Sounds fun as hell, right? It’s awesome.

I decided to hold off on writing a review until there were a few more updates and for me to have at least 500+ hours invested into the game. I am going to keep this straight up what i think about it as a whole with no fluff. Short and sweet.

Should you get it? It depends on what type of fps’s you like. Many CS players have fell in love with it because they like the realism and they’ve grown tired of the arcade feel that most other shooters have. Don’t doubt it for a second, this game is hard to pick up on but once you do, you realize how well reflexes really help if you’re rushing but don’t expect to be 360 no-scoping people because there is almost no chance in hell that that will happen. Those with good aim that are looking down sight as you turn a corner will get you every time so this is a game best played instinctively and safe (just don’t be one of those snipers that sit at spawn and let the enemy capture everything). There are few grenade, C4, or launcher spots that few people know of and use at the start of some maps which can be frustrating, so that is why I’m really hoping that much larger maps will be released in the future that are more open and don’t feel as constrained/guided (Heights and Buhriz are like that but i still love them). Maps that were easy to spawn camp have been updated heavily to prevent that which is great. The devs are absolutely brilliant at balancing and opening new areas of maps, always on top of it so kudos to them.

Notruf 112 | Emergency Call 112

Notruf 112 | Emergency Call 112

Where to start with this one? I’ve asked myself this question for a couple of hours before starting to type.

I suppose the easiest way to start is at the beginning. Notruf 112 (or emergency call 112 as the english version will be called) is a firefighting simulator made in cooperation with the professional Fire department of the German town of Mulheim an der Ruhr. It means you start a firestation and are assigned to an engine, a pumper or a laddertruck. Next door, but still within the building, are the paramedics with their ambulances. But these are currently just set dressing and not a subject of this review.

This game is a great relistic simulaton of begin a firefighter. My dad is in the RAF and he did some firefighting on Brize Norton 15 years ago, he said that the game is relistic but some sertain things aren’t for example when the firefighters stand around at the scene waiting to do things. He says “All firefighters have things to do on scene of the emergency”.

Things need working on:

Bugs: 1) there are some bugs but not many, when i take a call in the 1st fire truck ( the small one ) the firefighter (AI)

Rising Storm Game of the Year Edition

Rising Storm Game of the Year Edition

Rising Storm is the next game in the award-winning Red Orchestra franchise. You know the great gameplay, innovative features and realistic audio and graphics of RO2 - Rising Storm will take this to the Pacific Theater, adding even more features, new levels, new weapons and new factions. The game will allow the player to fight across iconic locations from the famous island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945, as the US Army and Marine Corps fight it out with the Imperial Japanese army and Special Naval Landing Forces. Players will experience beach assaults, jungle fighting, close quarters night fighting and more across Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Saipan, among other iconic battles. The player is able to take the part of either side – American or Japanese – battling it out online in multiplayer on up to 64-player servers.

Rising Storm is a realistic FPS brought you by Tripwire Interactive, a fantastic developer.

This title is a spin-off of Red Orchestra of which the franchise is based in the Second World War. Instead of Soviet Union fighting against the German Nazis, here the game is based in the Pacific War of which you fight with the Japanese Empire or the United States of ‘MURICA (I mean America…). Just like Red Orchestra, I suggest you only play this game if you’re not deeply affected by war movies or if you don’t have war trauma. Like I said in my brief introduction, the game wants to be as realistic as it can be without breaking the pacing. There’s a lot of good voice acting here which can transmit pain. For example, I accidentally shot one of my teamates and the player’s avatar died. The player respawned, however, the avatar kept crying of the pain and he wouldn’t stop. It made me feel bad for the mistake and I couldn’t concentrate properly. So as I said, be sure you would be fine with the execution of the theme.

Construction Simulator 2 US - Pocket Edition

Construction Simulator 2 US - Pocket Edition

Unpopular opinion, I give this game a Recommendation.

Pros:

  • If you have CS2015, $5.99 USD for a game that’ll keep you busy for a bit isn’t bad.

  • Amazing Light Blooms

  • CATERPILLAR.

  • Huge playable Area.

Cons:

  • $11.99 USD if you don’t have CS2015…. Wtf.

  • The Mobile addition is $4.99 USD. On the Google Play Store. Prices May Vary.

To the Developers:

  • Only 10 Vehicles active gets VERY ANNOYING.

the game runs perfectly fine for me, The sounds are very good. I have waited since Construction Simulator 2015 to finally drive a Backhoe in the game and now i can. I really do hope you continue to add Backhoes to your games, Especially the next big title you release on PC, they’re fantastic.

I would recommend playing the game with a Controller though, I am using an Xbox 360 controller and it works perfectly fine, the improved graphics options are well recieved. The controls are very intuitive with the controller, i didn’t try to play with a keyboard though.

Insurgency: Sandstorm

So, Full disclosure, I only ever play Coop, so I don’t evaluate PVP based on my review.

This is one of the best FPS games I have ever played. The pace is fast, but you have to think. You can’t rely on just being fast and accurate. The bots aren’t the brightest, but they are some of the better one’s I have seen. They will ambush you, they will flank you, and they will wait until they have enough to push you hard and try to overwhelm you.

You CAN do your own thing on the battlefield and some people are far too worried about their K/D. The best, however is when you get into a really good team. What happens when everyone knows what to do and does it, is amazing.

Real player with 627.4 hrs in game

Heart pounding. Terror in your soldier’s voice as bullets crack by. A mortars explosion deafens you with a temporary ringing. A smoke grenade covers the street, so you sprint across as you pray. You make it inside the objective just in time to see a grenade roll into the room… your teammate goes prone in it, as an act of sacrifice. The shrapnel is contained, and he lays dead in a pool of blood and a severed arm. You frantically shoot through the nearby wall and hear a scream, then a body falls clutching his wounds. You put another round in his head; he is still.
