Squad
Awesome game in itself, but sadly it is infested by powertripping wannabe squad leaders who will micromanage your every step and/or instantly kick you out of the squad whenever you are trying to play the game, they often even want to dictate what role or weapon or even what scope you can use, its really REALLY hard to find a good squad with a good squad leader who lets his teammates play the game.
The most amusing part of it all is that these squad leaders are usually the worst casual boomers who have no gamesense or aim whatsoever, if they make bad calls thats on you not on them :D

Squad provides an interesting balance of resource management and combat. Often in firefights you feel like you’re in the middle of a much larger battle; at the same time, very realistic damage models for vehicles, bullet penetration, etc. leave you often having to work around larger threats in your area. This has also led to some really cool impromtu mid-game missions, such as protecting a tracked Abram’s tank and then providing cover for it while we advanced down a street in Fallujah. There’s also a limited but active modding community adding cool content such as “hardcore” game modes, “star wars” battles, and night-vision fights, along with the ever-classic zombie game.

you can play operator dress-up and become the “special” activities division in a matter of a few hours, with a bit of sleep deprivation, and some friends.
10/10. also because the attention to detail and direction is top notch and i completely am on board with the realism they attempt to achieve. it is just a masterpiece of what rainbow six and ghost recon could have been had they kept with their original focuses.

I never leave reviews, it’s that good. The movement is smooth, the firearms all manipulate and fire like firearms. No HUD or indicators other than your stance (which can be turned off). It is a little light in features at the moment, so keep that in mind though.

Insurgency: Sandstorm
So, Full disclosure, I only ever play Coop, so I don’t evaluate PVP based on my review.
This is one of the best FPS games I have ever played. The pace is fast, but you have to think. You can’t rely on just being fast and accurate. The bots aren’t the brightest, but they are some of the better one’s I have seen. They will ambush you, they will flank you, and they will wait until they have enough to push you hard and try to overwhelm you.
You CAN do your own thing on the battlefield and some people are far too worried about their K/D. The best, however is when you get into a really good team. What happens when everyone knows what to do and does it, is amazing.

Heart pounding. Terror in your soldier’s voice as bullets crack by. A mortars explosion deafens you with a temporary ringing. A smoke grenade covers the street, so you sprint across as you pray. You make it inside the objective just in time to see a grenade roll into the room… your teammate goes prone in it, as an act of sacrifice. The shrapnel is contained, and he lays dead in a pool of blood and a severed arm. You frantically shoot through the nearby wall and hear a scream, then a body falls clutching his wounds. You put another round in his head; he is still.

Armored Warfare
I really had high hopes for this game, not because I thought it was better than World of Tanks or War Thunder, but because it had a mode that those other two games does not, that is, PvE. When you grow tired of the 15 vs. 15 idiot-fest that the other games become, you can play Armored Warfare and fight computer controlled opponents. Sure, you still have to deal with 4 other humans, but usually one or two of them go link-dead during the battle or stay along the edge of the map and out of your way.

A good idea run into the ground by greed, incompetence, and toxicity.
This game was originally made by Obsidian and despite meddling by My.com to make it more like World of Gold Shells, a lot of the old Obsidian magic still does shine through in the PVE content.
Unfortunately, this game is currently in the hands of My.games which is an incredibly cynical, lazy, and just generally unethical company.
Pay-to-Win Matchmaking
In addition to the usual pay-to-win upgrades and OP premium weapons which exist in many such “live-service” games, the devs now even sell pay-to-win matchmaking to “allow for more comfortable gameplay” for people who use premium currency to purchase “Battle Hardened status” for their vehicles.

Gunsmith Simulator
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1440340/Cannon_Foundry_Simulator/
There’s nothing like the smell of coffee blended with the metallic aroma of repaired guns in the morning… Become a virtual gunsmith, and it will become a part of your everyday reality.
You’ve already prepared your workshop and equipped it, and learning the profession just came naturally. Now you are left with finding your first customer. Fire up that computer, go to the “GunStock” website and browse through available auctions and ads. Who knows, maybe you will find someone who is in great need of your skills!
The first order is just in! Time to get to work. Order parts or craft them yourself using specialized tools such as a lathe or CNC machine tool. “Inspect” your patient and decide which elements need to be replaced and which you can repair yourself. Gain new skills, learn, and enhance your workshop!
Some say that looks don’t matter… it’s hard to blame them, they’ve probably never seen a perfectly preserved 7.92mm Gewehr assault rifle. Renovation of old shooters is also part of your duties. Get rid of rust from old elements by treating their surfaces by hand or use appropriate chemical treatments. Renew the protective layer of metal surfaces to keep them in good shape. And after a hard day’s work, it’s time for the most pleasant part – painting! Do you think the red accents will match?
Get creative! Upgrade equipment with modern accessories. Check optical sight, pistol grips, grenade launchers and lasers. Throw in a flashlight, rangefinder or collimators and create a unique weapon. The sky is the limit. After all, you are the gunsmith here. It’s up to you to decide on the design of weapons signed with your name.
After hours, it’s time to relax. What better rest is there for a gunsmith than a trip to your favorite shooting range? Put your pieces of art to a test by shooting at mannequins or go to the contaminated zone to shoot zombies!
All done? The further fate of your shooter is up to you. You can give it back to your client or buy it back and feature it in your collection. But hurry up, the next orders are waiting!

This is probably one of my favorite “realistic” shooters. Unlike Day of infamy which loses it’s charm quick and can become mindless, This game retains it’s charm with cheesy voice lines and a stunning ability to keep you immersed in combat. Where Insurgency fails with it’s customization bieing far to expansive for it’s own good and having too many variables to a loadout, This game hits a middle ground.
It’s the 60s,You don’t get any damn attachments, you choose between a bayonet AK, or a mosin nagant. Sights and specialized attachments are for specialist soldiers, which have limited slots.

Syrian Warfare
«What kind of Arab would I be if I didn’t have a RPG buried in my yard…?»
- Random guy in first mission after being asked to help defending the village
Wheew, what a ride. Definitely my personal surprise RTS of 2017 so far!
Syrian Warfare is a classic Real Time Strategy game brought to you by tiny Russian developer Cats Who Play. Since some members of the team also worked at GFI before, you could say the game is an unofficial sequel or spin-off to the 2008 RTS Warfare. Judging from videos or screenshots (and even the title font) the similarity is evident.

Syrian Warfare is a modern-day real-time tactics game with some excellent core gameplay, a surprisingly well-made campaign and complex, detailed mechanics that will be familiar to those who have played Men of War, another Russian-developed strategy game series, albiet with a significantly more user-friendly interface.

I had heard of the game last year but didn’t purchase it until now. I had recently been playing the Modern Combat mod for Company of Heroes which got me going back to playing some older modern day RTS/RTT games. I replayed a bit of World in Conflict (which was still as good as I remembered it.) but couldn’t quite maintain my interest in Act of Aggression. Given my experience with the latter I felt that I wouldn’t have much luck going back to the Wargame series since I had never been able to maintain interest in any of the series.

Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead
Definitely one of the best simulator games this platform has to offer. Besides DayZ mod you can do so much more like Wasteland (base building and pvp gamemode), make custom missions, player made maps and playing around in the armory with your friends in an online server. Pretty good singleplayer, although I think the multiplayer with all it’s gamemodes is where this game truly stands out. If you missed out on the hype and still want to play DayZ mod, I would highly recommend Overpoch by CCG. Either Taviana or Chernarus are both great maps for this mod. Taviana being the best in my opinion.

Brought it for DayZ
Played for at least 2000 hours (Steam didnt count most of it due to me not launching it through there)
Most of my time spent in this game was playing dayz epoch, which is hands down my most favorite game (or mod, whatever) of all time, it is basically DayZ (google it if you dont know what it is, which in that case you must of been living under a rock) with base building, YOU CANT GET ANY BETTER!
I also played all of the single player campaigns and DLC campaigns, which are good and all, but not the best story.
