Seems like a nice little game, though I ran into a bug on Mission 9 that meant I couldn’t complete the mission and continue the campaign. I used Cheat Engine to force the Events::IsTriggered check to always be true and that caused the mission to immediately fail and complete instantly allowing me to continue however.

A wonderful little strategy game.

At first, it seems a bit simplistic, but with each advancing level you need to change your tactics to adjust for the defenses established on the map.

I will not say it is terribly difficult, but it is a pleasant challenge until you figure out your own personal strategy.

Game of my childhood. Still very good in 2021, a bit too easy, but super fun to play. And the idea of you being a general of an army of insects fighting another army of insects for cakes and pizza that some guy forgot on his dining table is very cool.

Game is made with a lot of attention to details wchich is common for 90’s games. Every insect has it’s own abilities and powers but also it’s own animations for moving, attacking, dying etc. There is plenty of humor here, it is not the top class humor, but it’s okay considering how old the game is. Overall very addictive and fun, I am so happy to play it again. If you are an old gamer and want to show somebody what games looked like in 90-s this is a good example of it.

Definitely bought this for the nostalgia. Its a great game though. Starts out really easy so you can understand the basic concepts then starts to get more challenging. Good game for a child to get an idea of how older games used to be. Its got childish humor and cartoon graphics and it will help build critical thinking skills without being overly complicated. You have to use the manual in additional content section in steam to get past the start screen guard rhinobugs.

Tower of Time

Tower of Time

Tower of Time

Tower of Time is a squad-based dungeon crawler with predetermined character types whose attributes and skills can be leveled up occasionally and who fight in battles that require strategic and tactical thinking.

TL;DR

Though I felt the game got off to a slow and perhaps not so interesting start, after aquiring a few companions and getting down to level 5 it grabbed my interest and continued doing so as I progressed. I ended up enjoying the game quite a bit. This is one of those games that you need to get into a ways before you really start grooving on it. The fact that I bothered to write such a long review shows how much I liked this game, even with some stuff that bugged me.

In short:

AMAZING 50+ hours RPG with gorgeous graphics, an enticing story, tactical battles, balanced gameplay and original mechanics!

Summary

  • Very smooth gameplay, with gorgeous graphics and scenery and non-claustrophobic dungeons

  • Unintrusive interface, with sophisticated RPG mechanics

  • Original take on RPG mechanics, specially regarding the battles

  • The battles feel very tactical, due to the slow time feature. It is not turn-based, but it feels like XCOM, and has a lot of variation like diverse objectives and scenarios.

The game is pretty great as a tower defense + strategy game. The drawings are perfect and looks pretty great for your eyes, you can’t wait that much from a platformer. However sinners can scream and that would make you feel like you’re a real Evil LMAO. However, traps are pretty enough to kill all the sinners. I had one problem with achievements. I tried many things to solve it but I didn’t had achievements while I was completing them. Contacted developer about that and he said yeah there can be a bug about achievements which will be solved %100.

No Plan B: Prologue

No Plan B: Prologue

“When your army has crossed the border, you should burn your boats and bridges, in order to make it clear to everybody that you have no hankering after home.“Sun Tzu.

.

.

With that in Mind. This game teaches you to lay it all on the LINE when wagering your plan of execution against the enemy.

.

“NO BACKSIES”. you can drill and rehearse over and over fine tuning your approach on an occupied structure but eventually you must execute the plan. At which point you can not change it. Failure is constant success is scarce in this game but the more you play the more aware you become in the strategic head space.

This is an excellent game and a surprisingly playable demo. If you liked games like Door Kickers, Breach&Clear, Frozen Synapse you will definitely enjoy this one.

PROS

  • Excellent timeline system. It eliminates the most frustrating part of Door Kickers: the hassle around syncing operator movement. In No Plan B you can easily ensure that everyone enters into the new room in the perfect moment.

  • Active, responsive developer.

  • Daily, weekly and monthly challenges sneak in a little competitiveness.

Nice and deep space 4X game, definately the best of the recent releases. It also avoided a common fact with 4X which is that many features are copy/pasted beetween games, so it will feel fresh even if you’re used to the genre.

In a nutshell, it’s a bit rough but a must for every space 4X fan. It shines in empire management, elegant mechanics, diplomacy. It would deserve a bit more streamlining.

Why is it better than most other 4X?

+ Rewarding diplomacy:

Interactions pretty rational. There are many possibilities, from trading ressources (shortages are common so that’s handy), to technologies, to being able to use friendly planets as bases for your fleet or asking for a 3rd party to negociate a peace with your ennemy, or bribe them into getting into war against your ennemy (or request a bribe to help them!)

Lets get to it.

Pro:

[olist]

  • A.I. (Articial Intelligence) - I cannot emphasis or stress enough of how extremely good the A.I. is. It’s probably one of the most advanced one I’ve seen in a 4x game genre. I absolutely love how it handles playing against me and handling my orders for planets, colonization, and etc (without the need to micromanage everything). Again, the A.I. in this game is just so good that it cannot be expressed sufficiently of how good it is. Even the developer of this game admits that hard is very tough for him.

RFM

RFM

It was all going so well.

One day the world is experiencing a golden age of technology, the next it’s forcibly merged with an alternate dimension. It happens.

Now there’s a new reality, a world between worlds: The Bast.

RFM is a roguelite tactics game where you can play, pause and plan. You are Morgan, dimension-diving merc, delving deeper and deeper into The Bast at the behest of the factions looking to exploit this new reality.

But you’re going to need help to survive in the depths. Help, and a whole lot of skill.

RFM combines the tactics of grid-based strategy with the thrills of an action game. Each level plays out in realtime, but you can pause to assess the battlefield, prep your attacks and plan your next move. Use mods and equipment to enhance your preferred style of play and overcome your foes.

Inspired by the Golden Age of Space and seventies retro-futurism, RFM’s cel-shaded art and unique atmosphere, set to an irresistibly catchy soundtrack, means diving into the unknown has never felt so stylish.

You’re not alone on your journey into The Bast. As a mercenary you’ll deal with close associates and vying factions: everyone wants a piece of this new reality. But going deeper means getting better, and you’ll have to create unlikely alliances to procure the equipment you need to dive deeper.

  • Unique tactical battle system combining real-time action and time-freezing strategy

  • Every dive is different: change your strategies on the fly to counter a dimension in flux.

  • A hyper-stylish retro-future set to a catchy original soundtrack

  • Discover the secrets of each world and work towards a mysterious final goal

No Plan B

No Plan B

Very fun game as is but needs a few tweaks.

1. Toggle movement options like sync and isolate. You have to put your hands in weird angles sometimes and if your hand comes off it ends that option.

2. Slightly higher angle of view on doorways. Sometimes enemies hide in the smallest angle that a human would otherwise see. Also a better turning system. It’s weird when the characters stop to turn instead of turning as they walk.

3. Clearer stats for weapons (like how often they shoot) and more variety of weapons

Honest to say,is not a perfect game,but it’s good.

By the way,I have some suggestions for you, hope you can see this.

I think the control of planning can be greater than now, sometimes i would delete my schedule by mistaking click.

Meanwhile,I am a Chinese Player,I think “Skirmish Mission” should called “突袭任务“ instead of “冲突任务”.

Similarly, inside the game,SWAT and FBI’s full name looks like their description not their name, maybe you can make this translation better.

And i see some review that compare No Plan B to Doorkickers. In my opinion, both are good game, and to be honest, actually DK is better than this. But at the same time, these two are different at some points. No Plan B could only have one go (Like DK’s single plan medal but it’s mandatory) ,so you must plan carefully before execute.and the preview is amazing, that’s a thing that Doorkickers cannot do,it’s really helpful for squads to moving at the same time(better than DK’s “ABCD” action command signal)

ShemHaMephorash

ShemHaMephorash

A historical low fantasy strategy game surrounding the Great Game and Golem technology at the end of the 19th century

Long ago, humankind received special grace in the form of “words.”

“ShemHaMephorash”, which moves clay dolls and gives them miracles, supported civilization.

In addition, the world called and praised the people who manipulated that special power as “Scribe (Rabbi).”

Over the years, humankind has been devoted to battle, just like historical facts, and rabbis has been deeply involved in battle.

That didn’t change during the 1878 Afghanistan’s war and The Anglo-Russian Great Game.

Now, at the crossroads of civilization,

lead your chosen nation to victory and unravel the mystery hidden in the miraculous language “ShemHaMephorash” while following the stories of the rabbis.

■ Game system

This game is a derivative of the strategy game “Vahrentuga”, which consists of a turn-based strategy phase and an RTS-style tactical phase set in the Second Anglo-Afghan War that broke out in 1878.

The purpose of the basic game is to expand your territory and use the income from that territory to take advantage of the battle and keep your army alive until the end of the story.

In addition, you must achieve the victory conditions set for each story.

  • At the lowest difficulty level, you can ignore this victory condition.

■ Strategy phase

In the Strategic Phase, you can hire soldiers, select territories to attack, deploy defense forces, and improve territories as use special compartments.

The most important thing in battle is a stable logistics.

Let’s prepare the military and domestic affairs suitable for the war situation and steadily grow the power.

■ Tactical phase

In the tactical phase, RTS-style battles that mainly combine four types of infantry, artillery, cavalry, and rabbi are fought.

Your tactics can easily overturn sometimes inferior situations.

■ About operability

Basic operations can be performed with just the mouse and space key,

and in the tactical phase, you can operate each unit while pausing the game at any time.

I’ll skip the stuff about it beeing 8 player coop and sooo on and start talking about the stuff that might not be mentioned as often in short reviews:

The game offers multiple difficulties.. however the base difficulty is intended to be rather challenging for Players.

Which is definitly a good thing since it’s all about improving your own skill and after many defeats rewarding yourself with your very first win… somewhat darksouls-esque..

Classes:

So far there’s a total of 8 classes and depending on what the player wishes to accomplish every class has one or more distinctive roles.(Tank, Healer, DmgDealer,Scout….)

I played this game when it first came out and I immediately fell in love with it.

It’s a slick tactical shooter. With hordes of alien zombies trying to kill you. Meanwhile your team of husky voiced men attempt to complete your objectives.

Again it’s a great game. I stopped playing it for some time and decided to get back into it and immediately fell back in love.

Great set of classes

Assault-great all rounder very good beginner class. he’s great with light weapons and rifles and he even smokes a cigar. Do you want to live forever?
