I suggest you read game’s store description first before reading this (I often don’t do it myself), it’s pretty informative regarding basic game process.

There are 4(5) gamemodes:

Prologue: Birth - basically a story mode where you get text based events by capturing territories or fulfilling specific conditions. Writing is pretty interesting for a doujin game, I find Reinald scenario in particular pretty amusing, you don’t see endings like that every day. You can also unlock new characters or their stronger versions for random mode by completing certain scenarios.

Definitely a bit of a niche title that is not without its flaws. Basically it is a turn-based overworld with interconnected nodes representing fields of battle which you can control for income, and real-time battles whenever those nodes are contested. So, kind of like Total War but with over-the-top magical abilities for the anime generals. I personally enjoy it very much despite its myriad of flaws. The game also has a wonderful selection of music that for me never grew stale.

If you pick it up, I strongly recommend reading a community guide for gameplay tips like below:

Angelwood

Angelwood

Have you ever felt like living through the 2019-2020 school year?

I sure hope you haven’t. But now you can simulate living through it! The school year starts off unsuspectingly enough, but you very quickly realize that the town’s mafia is controlling people through an unseen world. As Sophomore John Smith, it’s your job to infiltrate the mafia’s bases with your friends and take down the evil lurking in broad daylight.

There’s a story to be told

You’re not going to be facing the same cut and dry school year like you used to. Taking down the 21st century mafia isn’t an easy task for a Sophomore, after all. Don’t like reading? Some scenes are voice acted!

Action based combat

Live in the moment! Fight your way through the mafia’s ranks with real time combat. From sword fighters to gun slingers to robotic mech users and more, your friends have your back throughout the whole journey.

The mafia isn’t the only threat you’re facing!

If you enjoy living, you better hit the books! As a student, you have to keep up with your school life, social life, AND mafia life. If you thought the mafia was scary, just wait and see what happens when you don’t do your homework! Most importantly, you need to be there for your friends.

Work on yourself outside of battle

Fighting enemies isn’t the only way to become stronger in this game. You can take a well-deserved break from combat by playing some computer games to make more equipment to use in battle. There’s even a skill tree you can customize! Or perhaps you’d wish to train with your allies directly…?

New Game Plus!

Remember the old days playing on your Digimon at school, well this game reminds me of that.. but on my PC playing over the net with friends. I have it on in the background as I’m working or playing other games. I’m really enjoying it and look forward to updates the Dev’s are working on.

Simple, yet requires a lot of strategy to set up character builds. Fun to play and break. Remember O' Developer, the Beta Champion will one day beat you.

Also, I would recommend buying 11/10.

Lamia Must Die

Lamia Must Die

(If TL;DR, then watch my less eloquent review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mho_vEQHzIw )

I spent a long time trying to elaborate on what I want to say about this game, but after hours of thinking, I realized it would be best if I put it thusly:

1.This game’s mechanics are really good and consistent with little to no gameplay glitches

2.The graphics look nice but are not accurately displayed or scaled correctly in a consistant manner at any resolution it offers

3. Voice actor audio can cut out but at least it’s consistent when it does (ie the same audio cuts off in a cutscene no matter how many times you play through it)

Real player with 5.8 hrs in game

Lamia Must Die. . .Eventually. . . Just as soon as I stop dying.

Lamia Must Die is a game of adventure wherein you are not just one person but rather four people. You can change two of your party members and their styles are definitely unique. You adventure into a dungeon and skip all the trash tier monsters completely. The only game play is a big epic boss battle.

Graphics and Art

The graphics are not that good, but it’s excuseable. This game runs mainly on artwork and pictures anyway and it’s played through various GUI’s, which all look and feel rather fluid and work well. The artwork itself is rather nice and sometimes kind of mediocre, though certainly better than I could care to draw. I’m not completely convinced that some of the pictures of the characters drawn were drawn by the creators of the game or anyone they hired. I don’t think they were commissions and rather just something free. If they were drawn by the creators then I ask why there is no consistency in the art work. Some of it looks great while others look like it was drawn by a complete ametuer who had way too much interest in tits. I of course refer primarily to Lamia.

Little Savior / リトルセイバー

Little Savior / リトルセイバー

The game is interesting but has some problems.

Gameplay is similar to Avaris 2 where you control a single unit while there are hundreds of other units on the battlefield fighting among each other. You can choose one of the 4 units to control and you can switch between them in battle. Each unit has a team of up to 4 different summons that it calls to battle (size of your team can be setup in settings, normal size is leader + 8 summons (edit: number seems to be wrong as amount actually depends on Charisma stat, I discovered this after reading online manual)). On top of that there are several extra teams that you can assign a leader to, including Monument, losing which is the main failure condition on most maps. Each leader can respawn twice during the battle so you need to kill enemy leaders faster than they kill your leaders to dominate the battlefield and to eventually remove the enemy leaders. Each summon can respawn limited amount of times which is defined by total amount of such summons that you captured (if you have 100 of some unit and assign it to two teams, then this unit can respawn in each team 50 times).

Real player with 10.9 hrs in game

It’s fun, but somewhat unfinished game

Little Savior is a real-time battle action game made by Sorceryforce. The player chooses one of the 4 hero units and plays it directly. These 4 main characters can change from time to time for strategic play. If you select one of the four, the rest of your peers will fight it automatically. You can direct their basic behavior by changing the command.

The game is divided into a story part and a battle part. The story part was not translated into any other language except Japanese. The battle parts are translated into English. Therefore, game play can proceed, but if you do not know Japanese, you will not understand the story. Its English translation quality is slightly better than machine translation. Including the incomplete portion, the translation quality needs to be improved.

Star Maidens Chronicle: Definitive Edition

Star Maidens Chronicle: Definitive Edition

Extremely shallow RTS. Not worth the price at all.

All the factions are identical, just different skin / theme.

Only 2 units, builder and soldier.

Only 4 buildings. HQ, Barracks, Resource and Tower.

Because of this, gameplay is always just “make more dudes than the other guy faster”. No unit synergies or strategies.
