Giants: Citizen Kabuto

Giants: Citizen Kabuto

When I was but a wee lad… I played this game on PlayStation 2. Here we are, many years later, though, and it has finally returned to me on Steam, in the format of the original PC edition, which I have been wanting for a while. And, well, put simply… It’s exactly as good as I remember. There’s some significant differences, if you played it on PS2 as well, but it’s still one of my all time favorite games for a reason.

The differences from PS2 are miniscule, as the blood is red instead of green, a few cutscenes were lost while new ones appeared, and you can decide at what pace to build your base (as well as control it’s turrets), among a few other things. As a whole, the game is the same, but with more added on.

Before I begin, I must tell you that I’ve spent +200 hours on the multiplayer of this game , there’s nothing wrong with the “giants fan page” Giantswd.org, where you can download the 1.497 patch and several mods to be able to get into the multiplayer and improve the game experience.

We have a 24/7 Very stable server right now. also, join GiantsWD steam group, everytime theres an event we launch a hard to miss popup and announcement to reach the best amount of players!

Now grab your bag of chips with ketchup and get a good dictionary because I write like pure shit.

What’s Left

What’s Left

This is… a surprisingly impressive feat for one guy. After the halfway-point, Landon (the protagonist) has many physical changes, hair cut, clothes change, injuries, a completely new type of primary weapon, at one point getting straight up covered in blood… and I appreciate that the dev took the time to show all this in the pixel art. There’s WAY too much detail in the smaller areas here, for a game that’s been out for this long and received on the verge of literally no attention.

I have so many thoughts floating in my head about this game now that I’ve completed it, what made the story so baffling and what made the gameplay so… everywhere but here’s what I can really grasp:

Empires and Tribes

Empires and Tribes

Empires and Tribes offers a lot of what I’ve been searching for in years: a medieval city and castle building game with a lot of freedom to build what you want almost anywhere you want it. But it still needs a lot of improvements to get there…

The positives:

  • a pure medieval city/castle bulding game (no wizards, dragons etc.)

  • beautiful graphics

  • a high level of freedom in building and forming your city and castle keep

  • a lot of citizen/worker activity (makes your city come alive)

  • You can walk through your city in 1st person and build in 3rd person.

I really like the game so far!! I now wonder, as a noble and probably the future King/Emperor, will the player have the chance to marry to form an alliance with another nearby faction? (For male players, they marry a female NPC noble/royalty or vice versa, female players marry a male NPC noble/royalty.)

The five suggestions I will bring up to the devs in my game review:

  • Marriage to a daughter of an important prominent noble family (If playing as a male character and vice versa, to a son of an important prominent noble family if playing as female)

+Reworked and well thought-out resource system that promotes base expansion

+All the factions are all fundamentally unique and don’t have a single similiar unit

+Really good in-game voice acting

+Clear and understandable interface

+Co-op campaign!

+Action-packed battles that require both macromanagement and microcontrol!

+Gamechanging unit abilities! Not a single ability is truly useless

Red Alert 3, for the first time in C&C history, featured a full coop campaign for all three factions. The Red Alert Spin-Off of C&C always was my favourite setting and Red Alert 3 didn’t receive the critical acclaim and fanbase it actually deserved. It played exactly like Red Alert 2, which personally is still my all time favourite C&C game right after C&C Generals.

The FMV scenes were cheezy as always and George Takeii did a brilliant job just playing himself in a samurai robe.

I have many fond memores for Red Alert and it still plays marvellous today.

Noob Squad

Noob Squad

From: Mad@Steam’s lack of quality control Gamer

To: Developer of Noob Squad (aka Antonio Renna)

Please rename yourself into this game’s name.

Because you can’t make games… you are the Noob Squad here…

PS: (I advise to) Report game for phising - you “need” to make an account, but there are no rules to accept , so basically give away your password to unknown destination.

    • not even to read or link to ToS… anything like that

Let’s be more serious:

  1. Do you like when after each time you press fire, your screen shakes? I’m not talking about recoil… it has camera shake effect everytime you shoot your weapon.

There are hundreds of Multiplayer Only shooters here on Steam and almost all of them fail to get enough players. Some of the shooters are actually good and deserve a few players but with so much choice even the better ones die a quick death. ‘Noob squad’ is NOT one of them.

If the title and description already didn’t give it away, Noob Squad is most likely created by a 12-year old or by a childish person….. I’m not sure but I’m pretty sure most of the assets (if not all) are stolen.

Everything about this game is bad; it’s badly optimised, shitty graphics (even though the screenshots might give you another idea), there are no sound when you walk…. you name it.
