Pyroblazer®

Pyroblazer®

Could have been a great little AG racer with a bit of work, If they fixed the, coming to a dead stop so often and cut down on the slowing rockets it would be much more fun, I have had fun on this game though after getting used to the controls which could do with some tweaking too.

When I initially played it when I first got it, it didn’t really seem like much to me. Then again, I was on a game sale binge at the time, and this caught my interest in the past. Playing much, much, later, I learned that it’s actually an interesting trip-fest of a game. Once you get used to the controls, it’s actually pretty fun. Sorta Wipeout-ish, considering the environments and combat-racer type of game that it is. Tracks are seemingly short, and in some tracks, you can’t really tell where you’re going until you crash into an invisible wall, and see a decent hint on the horizon where they had in mind for you to go to (turned too early a few times, and other times too late, or in the wrong direction, despite guidance arrows; some places are strange with their design). But once you get a good enough idea of how the game is, and the quirks of some of the tracks, it is a pretty fun game to race through once in awhile. Some parts kinda remind me of Star Wars Pod Racer; speeds of races included.

RaceXXL Space

RaceXXL Space

RaceXXL is a decently fun game, but gets boring quick without other players or AI

Pros:

  • Decent handling physics, doesn’t feel clunky

  • Foreground visuals are cool

  • Entertaining when getting wrecked by different obstacles, but that only lasts so long (see cons)

Cons:

  • No AI or other players even though game photos show you racing with another vehicle. That doesn’t happen, at least not

for the first 3 races, which was enough to turn me off from continuing playing.

  • Background visuals are a bit cheesy but I can’t complain for a 6$ game

Breakneck

Breakneck

This game is addictive, and I mean, obsessively addictive! It features this unique concept of catching electrostatic energy off the walls to your spacecraft and converting it into an insane boost. So at most times, it is pretty risky to gather your own boost resource. You risk being slowed down or worse - crash into a wall. Along the way, you can pick up other bonuses in form of glowing tokens, such as unlimited turbo, coin magnet, retry coins (coins that you pay to retry a level), coin stack, rapid charge and pursuit scrambler. Yes, you are being constantly pursuit by something menacing called the pursuer. You never get to see it through and that is what it makes it even more scary and mysterious. You must travel at breakneck speed to avoid this pursuer to leave it behind in the dust.

I find it very fun, worth my 5 dollars. I like the tournaments that happen daily and give high rewards, lately I saw some new players play it. Kinda sucks that not that many people play it, such as previous of the tournaments, it’s very easy to get high on the leaderboard. Which personally I don’t mind becuase “ooh yay more prizes,” but I feel like it may be more fun for me at least if more people played it. I always see the same 7 people on the leaderboard and it’s always the same person in first place, sometimes I could be in 8th or 2nd; with that said it kinda sucks that people play it.

Radial-G : Racing Revolved

Radial-G : Racing Revolved

Radial-G is not Redout nor Wipeout. All of the tracks are tubular though not in their entirely, an important point from strategic racing perspective as you will want to maintain a downhill perspective for both time and visuals. For a small Indie effort and price there are enough tracks and ships, though the best ship is locked behind a multi-player level gate.

There are multiple modes; Battle (most positioning points over 4 races), Time Trial, Race, Eliminator, Rival and Combat (weapons included). You’ll breeze through the first of the two single player tiers or at least I did. The third tier is quite the challenge and this is where the game shines. While the game awards “PASS” just with a bronze trophy, the third tier will have you racing for a while.

I first played this 1st person Wipeout inspired game back in the Oculus DK1 days as a free demo which showed great promise.

Somewhere along the way, the potential crashed just like you’ll do many, many times in this confusing racer. The premise is simple - Wipeout in ships that can race on the outside of tubes.

Back in the early days of VR, roller coaster rides were very popular, and developers were competing to make the sickest rides, and it feels as though the devs of this game had the ambition to combine the fastest, most gut wrenching roller coaster ride, with an actual game… and failed.

The Last Element: Looking For Tomorrow

The Last Element: Looking For Tomorrow

The Last Element: Looking For Tomorrow - Atmospheric cyberpunk arcade racing game!

This game is very interesting. As i like a sci-fi and stuff I can say with confidence that the game strongly reminds me of the VHS era. Сulture of the 80’s, ‘‘Knight Rider’’, “The Fifth Element” kinda “Back to the Future”. It is a new world in the arcade racing genre. Get behind the wheel of a flying car of the future and participate in dizzying races, where you can overtake the cars not only on the side but also from below or above. Graphics are good, and concept is simple and pure. it’s good time travel in expectation of Cyberpunk 2077

For what it is, it’s good fun.

A really laid back, non competitive, time passing game. Graphics are phenomenal for the price too! Love the fact there is a global leaderboard.

I do enjoy the added ‘scenes’ option, I feel it adds a bit more depth but annoyed at the same time you can only look and not interact.

It would also be a good idea to have more than just the standard level on the game, maybe a couple to choose from?

Very incredible start to game. Very good engaging gameplay, well played physics. Looking forward to seeing where this game ends up. Largest potential in a VR, racing, car physics game I’ve played!

I absolutely love racing in VR. Unfortunately, I really didn’t like this game. It’s not awful, but it’s just not very good at the moment. It’s still in Early Access so there’s time for it to improve. It is definitely a different racing experience. Basically, you’re racing on these space cylinders. And apparently gravity is strong but high speeds and certain angles can lead you to lose your grip on the “road” and spin out of control out in space.

Overlanders

Video speaks more than any amount of words, so here’s my FIRST LOOK video on the game

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK1rQtTAwU8

However if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to watch the video, then here are few words about the game.

It’s arcade, fast paced action / combat racing with hovers. Even tho it doesn’t say it’s in early access, it sure feels like lot of content is missing / in progress, even the track builder says “under construction”.

So that said, game looks quite ok, but at this point there’s just not much to do. I completed all tracks in less than 2 hours and there’s nothing much to grind for, so it gets boring very fast. Also I did not see any players in multiplayer, I only got bots.

In this video I take a look at Overlanders a hover bike racing game where the leader gets to kill a monster.

The difficulty after the first few levels seemed to get too hard. Doesn’t really add anything new to the genre unless you like chasing monsters. Pity, I was looking forward to this one but it just didn’t deliver.

Watch the video to see what the game is like…..

NOT WOTH BUYING!

A good idea, very bad released. This game is a very cheap arcade with a mixup single levels which would be make fun if there where any point beside a guitare hero like plaything

Looks like a game ported from mobile. Racing tracks are short and easy, combat is simplistic and unrefined. Tech tree looks passable.

FLASHOUT 2

FLASHOUT 2

FLASHOUT 2 is a pretty good racing game similiar to Wipeout with nice soundtrack and ok graphics but I can’t recommend it because of the game breaking bugs and there are many of them. Some examples:

-the first level of the Redox League have infinite lap loop bug. All you can do is hit escape and surrender on this level (you will lose points). The league is still beatable but it does increase the difficulty a bit because you don’t get any points from this round while enemies does,

-you can’t finish the game because the last boss battle (Shadow) never loads,

Bad graphics, bad sound, bad controls. This game tries so hard to be Wipeout but ends up being a crappy F-Zero rip-off. A really bad one at that. The car designs are horrible. Little kids in 5th grade art class could draw and color better looking hover cars than the ones in this game.

The music isn’t too bad but it’s nothing special, mostly just dance songs. The cool dub-step song in the trailer isn’t in the game. It can be entertaing to play a couple of races but after awhile it’s just tedious.

Lost Wing

Lost Wing

Really fun game. I am looking forward to seeing where the dev’s take it throughout the EA. I will update my review as time goes on (below). For now theres the 1, rather long, zone thats fully functional. A second zone looks to be just about ready, and is available for preview (meaning theres no collision, but you can run through it).

Whats available is awesome. Ship control feels good, speed feels good, pickups feel good, and the challenge is most certainly there. The soundtrack suits the game nicely and the graphics are as you see in the screenshots (crisp and spiffy). I totally recommend, especially at this price.

Hi friends

Would like to give a great Like to this game, very good time to play with it. For fun and action when you have a short break. Sure it will improve and develop new stages and infinite possibilities custom ships.

Thanks to BoxFrog and the team for the concept and make happy people with a lot of success for your work and make this possible on not gamers top computers only.

Enjoy to part of the launch of this and keep the future better with big smile and imagination.
