Trackmania United Forever

Trackmania United Forever

This game isn’t a racing game like all others. Trackmania has its own things that make it a special racing game - the physics for time attacking.

You can ride with cars over nice maps build by Nadeo, or the community in 7 different environments. Collect medals by improving your time. Chase your friends to see who’s the better racer. Build your own maps and share your maps with others, for example on tm-exchange.com. There’s a lot of stuff you can do related to cars.

True, you can do all of this in Nations, but United is another big experience of driving with different cars and enjoying their unique environments. Please don’t waste your money on this game because of Coppers support, it’s stupid.

If you give this game only a brief glance, you are going to see a simple arcade racing game where cars look like toys and drive round corners at speeds exceeding 600 km/h. But if you look under the shell and start probing deeper you shall see that TrackMania is in fact many things and it isn’t in fact simple, but rather simplistic.

Do you like hardcore racing where you need to hunt for tenths and hundredths of a second, and even a small concentration lapse can result in a crash when you are on a world record pace? Come on in, there’s plenty of that. Do you like to build maps for others to race at? It’s easy to do that with a built in editor. Maybe you prefer doing various stunts, such as backflips, barrel rolls, driving through loops or just riding the walls in a car? TM is a perfect choice for you. Just in case you like puzzles, there’s a game mode for you where you have to build a fastest way between start, finish and a few checkpoints using a limited amount of blocks. Then again you can just challenge your brain and your very self to try and seek for outrageous shortcuts in others' tracks, as nobody can dictate you the order in which the checkpoints must be driven.

First off, I’m gonna say this game is really fun and is worth a buy if you’re gonna play with friends. However, if you’re going solo in this game, you might want to hear what i’m going to say.

What frustrates me as a player is the cancellation of Speedrunners as an ESL sport. This game had so much potential and would have attracted many people kids and adults alike to watch amazing professional gameplay. Though I would understand why this game had ultimately died because of a couple of reasons, one being that it has an identity crisis.

Introduction

Speedrunners is a brilliant, 2d, sidescrolling, racing game where you race against up to 3 players, locally or online in a battle of speed and wits. I used to dislike this game, until very recently when it was much less buggy and I got to understand the mechanics of the game. It is early-access, but a very good one at that. Continue reading, to learn more.

Gameplay

Your goal in speedunners, is essentially to win the race. However, there aren’t any laps, nor are there any special objectives. Instead, all of you have to do is be so far ahead of the rest of the racers, that they vanish off the screen. The race screen follows the leader, so it is key to stay close to the leader in order to stay alive. Once the opposing racers have hit the bounds of the screen, you as the leader win a round. Winning 3 rounds makes you the overall winner of the race. Sounds fairly easy? Well it would be, if this game didn’t have items or grappling hooks.

Riptide GP: Renegade

Riptide GP: Renegade

Riptide GP Renegade,

is a quite entertaining Arcade Speedboat Racing Game.

I found out about Riptide GP2 in the PlayStore and searched for it on Steam and found this instead, pretty nice game overall.

It comes with a career mode, a challenge mode, a quick race mode and an online mode but that one is dead, you will not find a lobby.

Thats kinda sad because I think after 30 hours of singleplayer, competitive races would be damn fun.

Would also increase the replay value a bit cause after youre done with the carreer, the game will be rotting in your library otherwise.

There are quite a few unnecessarily negative reviews for this game. From what I’ve read of these, they’re either from followers of the series who don’t feel that this game adds much to previous games, other than new tracks, or people who feel that it’s too short or arcade-feeling.

I feel that these negative comments are a bit unreasonable.

First of all, given the cost of the game at full cost, there’s a lot of playability and enjoyment to be had from the game. If it doesn’t add too much to previous games, then that’s just because there’s no reason to change something if it’s not broken. If you bought a previous game and enjoyed it, you’ll probably enjoy this. I personally haven’t played a previous Riptide game, but I love how this plays and would definitely buy a future version with new tracks, racers, jetskis etc.

Inertial Drift: Sunset Prologue

I really enjoyed this.

At first it seems like you can’t steer enough, and drifting is sudden, but as you’ll find out it’s not at all bad design. It’s just something to get used for about the first 3 laps. Go try it again, steer where you can, brake some more, and you’ll find it’ll go way smoother. It’s a great feeling to nail those turns once you get it.

Then you’re given - The Dragon - and you’re back to square one again. Flying off the road and feeling this thing is impossible to drive. But once again, you’ll just have to give it another go to get this monster under control. And you will, and it feels amazing.

Initially I was skeptical about the drifting mechanics as I felt I had too much control over the car for it to be fun drifter but after unlocking the “HPE Dragon” I started to understand the vision and came to appreciate it the game. In addition to the enjoyable gameplay. The sound design is great, hitting different surfaces produces appropriate sound effects and the soft OST suits the game without being derivative of similar games in the genre. Last of all the art style has a good use of colors and is pleasing to look with the cars designs being unique and memorable and race tracks having unique landmarks and dressing which comes together to creating a lasting visual appeal.

Hello,

My name is PIG! Let me tell you why CD2 is easily, my most favorite game. Most people think the game is over after they achieve 100% game progress. In my opinion, that’s when it really begins. I’ve been playing for several years now, and I’m still learning new things each time I play.

All vehicles have their own uniqueness, or personality. With 30 vehicles to choose from, it is very easy to find one that fits my style of play, if not several. What’s most impressive, is how well the vehicles and terrain work together. They both compliment the other very nicely. The controls are very simple, so children can easily master any vehicle. The complexity of the terrian, and physics of the vehicles, make the game very fun. I have the choice of 4 maps, with lots of hills, ramps, loops, and events. Aside from the main focus of game play, there are hidden locations, and secret ways of getting on top of the rock walls, loops, and structures. I can be as competitive, or as laid back as I want to be.

You know when Keanu Reeves always says “whoa”? I think he must have been looking at an early copy of this game.

I had no idea what to expect when I threw this in my cart just to raise my order level a couple of bucks. I love racing games; and the description sounded good. The idea of it being multi-player with random events almost turned me off; mostly because I think online multi-player does nothing but bring up the worst possible players in games…not to mention I wasn’t worried about doing anything but driving cars.

TrackMania² Stadium

The ultimate ghost chasing simulator.

(Disclaimer: My total Steam gametime does NOT represent my actual total gametime.)

TrackMania² Stadium is a 2012 arcade racing game, published by Ubisoft and developed by Nadeo, and is the sequel to one of the greatest racing games ever made, TrackMania Nations Forever.

For the uninitated, TrackMania is a high-speed arcade racing game, where lightning fast time trials take place in diverse and unique enviromments, chock-full with ludicrous stunts and gravity-defying circuits. The gameplay is extremely easy, yet hard to master, with even one minor mistake threatening to put you into a wall and end your otherwise flawless run, as you seek to shave off those precious milliseconds from your personal best.

This game is pretty ridiculous. It’s like the company asked a bunch of 4th graders to come up with ideas for a racing game, and this is the result. Wall rides, loops, huge jumps, crazy speed. It’s awesome.

That being said, the skill cap is infinitely high. Yes, it’s massively fun to go on a server and smash through a bunch of new tracks, crashing all over the place and hitting walls like they owe you money. And it’s worth mentioning that since the multiplayer is almost exclusively user-created levels, there are tens of thousands of maps to play. But once you settle in to a server and have learned the maps, then it becomes a wonderfully technical game about shaving off bits of time where you can.

Trackmania 2 doesn’t offer a pushed calling mode, sensible tracks and stupefying gathering of available autos like other hustling titles. It has single-player substance, however Nadeo’s continuation isn’t wanted to be played alone. This is an establishment about sharing, about social event, and about dashing all through of this world circles in the wake of taking a snappy skip off an avenue lifted over a gap floor. It runs with a social occasion of force tracks, yet the certifiable delight of the redirection is picking through the get-together’s appearances and ricocheting into servers to go up against others for smart times. Certainly, even so not long after dispatch, there’s as of now a critical designate of substance there.

Well, my first ever review….

They’ve gone and fooked this game right up, after 200+ (i think) hours of playing i can no longer log in, apparantly my account’s email is wrong, when nothing has been changed, so i cant get a new password for my account, i load up trackmania to be greeted to a broken client screen which is blank. Which claims im not connected to the internet

Lets ask ubisoft support for help!

5 days later …. no reply…

lets go to ubisoft live help!

Sorry this isnt the right department, we only deal with connection issues, but this is a connection issue?… sorry but we cant deal with connection issues on live chat? (the f**k?)

Team Sonic Racing™

Team Sonic Racing™

This is the most mediocre game I have ever played. It has some very nice parts but severely lacks polish. Overall I think the game is neither very good or bad but I had fun with it so I recommend it.

The game is basically a sequel to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed except it’s not. It remakes several tracks from that game (and its predecessor) and the way vehicles handle is quite similar with only minor differences (the games are also all made by the same developer studio but not necessarily the same developers). But Team Sonic Racing is not an All-Stars title.

A fun, albeit flawed kart racer which gets more hate than it deserves.

Pros:

  • Good visuals. The karts, the characters, the tracks and the special effects are usually nice to look at.

  • Addictive music. It’s modern sonic/crush 40 rock in style and it’s been done surprisingly well. There is plenty of good music to listen to here. The title, Green Light Go, is particularly addictive.

  • Smooth gameplay. Everything flows well and driving is easy. Boosting and tricks are what you’ve come to expect in the standard kart formula and it’s no different here, but what is different is the team mechanic. This mechanic allows you to play in interesting ways, giving items or using them, gearing up with high speed/boost or handling for the slingshot boost off your team mates. You can even save team mates which have been shot down by performing skim boosts as well. All of this is just as natural to perform as a boost or trick.

Atmosphere and style of play, referring to the once successful pair of NFS Underground titles. When racing under the cover of darkness, a carefree arcade and a love of tuning in the realm of dense guys appear.

It’s a pity that under the cover of night racing, the Ghost Games have failed to turn the virtual city of Ventura Bay into a truly vibrant metropolis. It is more like a ghost town, because its inhabitants are only police officers and young road pirates, who supply you with tasks and rewards for their successful performance.

One of the most immersive street racers out there. I’d say it’s aged quite well.

Though there’s good reason why fans of the franchise are divided on this game, some hating it with a fervor while others laud it as one of the best.

I’ll list the Good, the Bad, and the Debatable in the review below.

Let’s start on a positive note.

===================================

The Atmosphere

Despite the nigh-photorealistic quality, it runs surprisingly well on my GTX 1050 Ti and Intel i5-8400 on max settings.

! (Though I have a mod that disables some unnecessary post-processing features which certainly improves performance) The way all the lighting, effects, animations and sounds are done though, that’s what makes NFS 2016 truly magnificent.

Great while It lasted but when uplay updates and then refuses to run, you add ubi soft to the list of excecutive boards you’d gladly do jail time beating half to death with what i assume is very nice board room chairs bought with our stolen money, on behalf of people everywhere who feel ripped off by incopetent people… reminds me of that time i bought a ubi soft game and it was all buggy and rushed to release i bet i can’t play that game either any more

To be fair trials fusion is pretty decent its no trials HD but nothing will ever be the glory that is trials HD, Even though i can’t play it now thanks to ubisofts nice giant fuck you of an update, i would definitly be playing it at this moment instead of publicly shameing ubisoft for doing what big game companies do. i would say youy should play it too, but you can’t because ubi soft is acting like bunch of pariniod crack heads with DRM.

Sale edit: Every DLC is on sale right now, this hasn’t happened before, so take the very low price into account with my DLC reviews :)

Awesome level MAX Edit: This isn’t included in the season pass, and as yet I do not own it. I’ll update this section with details on whether the DLC is worth a full price or not when I purchase it for myself. As for the introduced microtransactions, they’re purely cosmetic and not required.

Introduction

This was the first Trials game I ever played, and it’s great. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off, most of them are negative simply because it uses Uplay, which I shall talk about further down the review.
