Distance
Developers
The developers are very active within the community and are an easy bunch to contact if need be. There is no downside I can speak of when talking about the developers in the time I’ve participated in the community thus far - they are an amazing team and I’m glad they are the ones to be making this great game. Anyone active in the Distance community has probably talked to them at some point, whether it be about a bug report, feature suggestion, or just discussing some of the many community workshop tracks. Occasionally they will host a livestream event to show off some of the community-created tracks on their Twitch and we have some great fun asking questions while they host a multiplayer server. All of their contact info is in the bottom-right corner of the Distance homepage .

Alpha Backer here
First and foremost: For a title that just now hits Early Access the game is working surprisingly well. The implemented gamemodes work, offline and online Multiplayer works, leaderboards and steam workshop work too :3
- postive
- negative
o neither, but wanted to mention
Gameplay / Controls
-
Car controls nicely
-
Lots of obstacles to avoid. Placement of obstacles can make for great flow in levels, ranging from hectic dodging to smooth precision driving.

Wow, one of the best racing games I have played in a long time. Still can’t believe it was only £2.00, definitely a worthy purchase. This game has quality tracks and cars, the power-ups have been thoroughly thought through and are almost always different everytime. The soundtrack is definitely also one of my top favourite things about this amazing game! Simply cannot believe this great game.

Team Sonic Racing™
This is the most mediocre game I have ever played. It has some very nice parts but severely lacks polish. Overall I think the game is neither very good or bad but I had fun with it so I recommend it.
The game is basically a sequel to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed except it’s not. It remakes several tracks from that game (and its predecessor) and the way vehicles handle is quite similar with only minor differences (the games are also all made by the same developer studio but not necessarily the same developers). But Team Sonic Racing is not an All-Stars title.

A fun, albeit flawed kart racer which gets more hate than it deserves.
Pros:
-
Good visuals. The karts, the characters, the tracks and the special effects are usually nice to look at.
-
Addictive music. It’s modern sonic/crush 40 rock in style and it’s been done surprisingly well. There is plenty of good music to listen to here. The title, Green Light Go, is particularly addictive.
-
Smooth gameplay. Everything flows well and driving is easy. Boosting and tricks are what you’ve come to expect in the standard kart formula and it’s no different here, but what is different is the team mechanic. This mechanic allows you to play in interesting ways, giving items or using them, gearing up with high speed/boost or handling for the slingshot boost off your team mates. You can even save team mates which have been shot down by performing skim boosts as well. All of this is just as natural to perform as a boost or trick.

Trials of the Blood Dragon
Okay here’s the deal.
There are much better trials games and MUCH better platformer games.
If you haven’t already extensively played and enjoyed previous trials games, leave and come back to this review when you have.
Okay now assuming you are a trials veteran, here is what to expect. This is coming from someone who has 150+ hours played.
The story mode will be completed in about 2-3 hours.
This consists of a collection of 26 levels, which are a mashup of some beginner tracks, a couple jetpack skill games, a couple minecart skill games, some trials tracks with a grappling hook, and some platforming levels with truly terrible controls/physics.

First off, I’ve played Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and all of the Trials games.
The story is just not believable, not even to a 10 year old kid. There are a few jokes here and there but none of them are very funny.
If you’re expecting a game like Trials Evolution or Trials Fusion, you’d most likely be disappointed. The game-play is just not what you would expect from a Trials game. Half of the time you’ll be playing as one of the kids in a 2D ‘run and shoot’ game and other half, you’ll be playing in a 2.5D mode in Trials game-play with a few twists, I’m trying not to spoil too much. If you’re a fan of the previous Trials games, then chances are that you won’t be liking it at all.

Garfield Kart - Furious Racing
Thirty seven hours, thirty seven hours is all it takes to see god. Have you ever seen something so magical, so wonderful, that your mind cant help but look back on what could have been. In my thirty seven hours of game-play in “Garfield Kart - Furious Racing” my soul felt as though it left my body. Soon all I could see was Garfield, my toilet, Garfield, my table, Garfield, even my entire house was transforming into Garfield. It was at that moment I realized, it was him, right behind me, staring into my eyes menacingly. I tried to run away but my world began to crumble, the floors collapsed as I fell fifty feet into what seemed to be a massive cooked lasagna, the landing was rough but I seemed to come to my senses quickly. It was then I turned to my left to see Garfield’s massive dong swinging from side to side, his eyes locking onto me as he slammed it down onto the lasagna, I tried to run as quickly as possible but his dong began to suck me in, I screamed as I tried to escape, but no one could hear me. Soon I was being slurped down by his massive sausage, my screams slowly becoming muffled as everything turned black, it was over. Although I am still currently engulfed in Garfield’s massive nuts I cant deny loving every second of it, if your a fellow Garfield lover and love big nuts covered in lasagna please by all means purchase thirty seven copies for you all of your friends, 10/10 would play again, oh also nerf Odie that dude OP as hell.

“I do not assume any phrase can give an explanation for a person’s existence,” says one of the searchers thru the warehouse of treasures left in the back of with the aid of using Jonathan Arbuckle. Then we get the well-known collection of pictures main to the closeup of the phrase “Garfield” on a kart that has been tossed right into a furnace, its paint curling withinside the flames. We keep in mind that this become Arbuckle’s adolescence kart, taken from him as he become torn from his own circle of relatives and despatched east to boarding school.

nail’d
First of all, buy this game for 10Hrs worth of Single Player Content(Tournament) it has Quick Play and some Time Attack challenges but who plays that anyways?
The Multiplayer is dead(Online and Leaderboards are no longer available due to server shutdown)
The game is just OK
just 2 vehicles, 1 Dirt Bike and 1 ATV. Luckily, they can be customized to the point you cant tell the difference between the two
The Tournament is just OK though the last levels have heavy rubber banding and doesnt feel good

What is Nail’d ?
Nail’d is kinda a funny game, it has pretty much nothing going on for it, its mediocre at everything it does but I found myself playing it for quite some time, this is a review just because I had fun with a game doesnt mean I owe it a recommendation many people enjoy stupid movies like sharknado in a “so bad its good” way, either to laugh at it or have some gags with friends, it doesnt mean they would go everywhere recommending people to watch it, Nail’d is pretty much like that It would fall into a guilty pleasure of sorts in a racing game way, but what does that mean ? let me explain below…

Road Legends
Road Legends is an endless runner with some sweet beats, but has several flawed designs.
The game is brutally unforgiving and will force you to restart if you hit any obstacle even if you make it through 99% of the stage. Each stage is beatable, but will require sharp reflexes and the ability to look ahead, if you have some experience with rhythm games, you should be fine on the lowest speed. The procedural generated nature of stages can create some nearly frame perfect requirements so get ready to replay each stage multiple times if trying for 3 star finishes.

Levels feel like they take 5x longer than they actually are. A great way to agonisingly stretch out 2 minutes to what feels like 10 if it’s your last day of summer break and don’t want to go back to school.
The game also features some garbage tier level generation that will put two targets in the outer lanes as close together as possible making it not only nearly impossible to spam the turn keys quick enough, but then it will literlally throw a bomb between he two points.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection
I like Sonic games but I’ve never been a huge fan. I do however love an arcade racing game and this is the best one I’ve played. The list of games this is better than is long, but it beats out Mario Kart and the Nickelodeon clone by a mile. Drifting quickly becomes intuitive, the AI usually isn’t as cheaty as other games, and the items are well balanced. There’s a decent variety of characters to choose from, many of which are from obscure SEGA properties which really helps if you don’t want to just play as Sonic or Knuckles.

Disney•Pixar Cars
Great nostalgic game :)
Cars is open world and has a good number of races, minigames, and collectibles. Some of the more fun events - like chasing down the speeders - and some of the offroad races have high replayability.
It can take a while to find the location of all those stamps, and even then, getting to them is a whole other challenge. I remember for two of them you have to climb a huge mountain with its own share of difficulties and pick which stamp of the two to get. They both involve long jumps to reach them, and if you fall, you have to climb back up the mountain all over again.

A great game that I enjoy. I remember playing this as a kid, and I was excited when I recently found out that it was available on Steam. This game has great races and mini-games. The controls can sometimes feel floaty and weird, but it is easy to get used to (I used a PS4 controller). The hub world, consisting of Radiator Springs, Ornament Valley, and Tailfin Pass, give you this sense of exploration. Not to mention you can hit npc cars in these hubs which can be very hilarious if you are doing this with someone watching you. You can choose a difficulty before starting Story Mode, which are Rookie, Pro, Champion, and another mode that is the most challenging that you need to unlock (I don’t know how to unlock it or the name of it). The cutscenes have original voice actors. You can also get bonus content like characters (note: unlocked characters can’t be used in Story Mode), paint jobs for characters, art, deleted cutscenes, and other videos, but you need to pay with points you receive in-game. The characters you unlock can only be used in Arcade and Multiplayer. Arcade is where you can choose a character and paint job and choose any mini-game or race that you have unlocked while playing in Story Mode. Multiplayer is basically just Arcade but with multiplayer. Multiplayer is split screen, and there is no online play. The only downfall is the sometimes floaty and weird controls that can take some getting used to and the difficulty that keeps on switching from easy to difficult, then back to easy and cycle repeats. Overall, it is a great game that anyone can enjoy, and I am more than happy to call it one of my favorite racing games.

Extreme-G 2
This is a game that requires patience in learning its quirks, the sometimes wonky bike physics and controls, but rewards you immensely if you persevere. And this is coming from someone who plays using a keyboard and is fundamentally bad at racing games.
There are a few bugs here and there (nothing game-breaking: just don’t decline a save when you’re offered one, or the game might stop offering), and I should elaborate on the wonkiness. The bikes are very fond of turning sideways or even backwards upon collision with a badly shaped wall or other bikes. Sometimes you might grind along a wall no problem, and sometimes you might snag on something and get turned around. The controls for left and right like reversing themselves at this point, as well as the gas pedal just kinda breaking, but you learn to deal with this very quickly (hint: it’s good to let go of all buttons briefly and then try moving again).

For the 2.50€ I paid for it is probably worth it. Mind that the controller support is still the worst of any steam games that I own and took some digging through the forums to find an acceptable solution. Not a decent one, but an acceptable one.
Well, I suppose that on the plus side the game actually works with decent frame rates and the WHOLE soundtrack catalogue from XG1 - 3 and both N64 and PC versions of the soundtrack is present. The soundtrack alone may justify the price tag.
But the controller support is bad, euphemistically speaking. There is no controller support in the menus, so no relaxed gaming on your TV. To get my XBone controller working, I had to set all executables to “run as admin”, then select the controller in the pre-game menu (which I have to start around 3 times on win 10 to actually start the game), then navigate to bike selection, press space bar and config my controller buttons. Shoulder Triggers are not being recognized. It’s a hassle that reeks of a lazy port. Like, every N64 emulator does this better and the only reason this version may continue to exist is stable framerates.
