Mad Taxi

Mad Taxi

Mad Taxi is another asset flip from copy+paste merchants, HotFoodGames. This time they’ve ripped off someone else’s NW.js endless runner/reflex clicker game where you have to click your mouse button when the taxi hits one of the arrows.

I mean, if you’re going to plagiarise someone else’s work by asset flipping, at least you could flip something decent? Apparently not. Anyway, this is bundle worsening asset flip garbage that got dumped into cheap nasty DailyIndieGame bundles and should be avoided.

Game description key-points: 2D runner with very low quality

Real player with 7.0 hrs in game

RunningMarty is an asset flip/template flip from a common game constructor kit, using the endless runner template. The developers slapped a copyright infringing Back to the Future Marty McFly on his hoverboard onto the game.

I really hope ImperiumGame gets sued for this one. Copyright infringement is not a laughing matter.

Splash Road

Splash Road

Lucky me gets to write the first review for Splash Road, and it’s a dubious honour.

Splash Road is a basic Unity Asset flip. It’s an endless runner (driver) where you bump the car between the middle, left and right lanes to avoid the other cars. It’s less complex than Pac-Man. I mean, if you’re going to flip a Unity store asset, why not at least try to flip one of the better ones?

Regardless, I can’t recommend anyone pays Crewxaa for what’s obviously someone else’s demo/tutorial/asset pack here.

PolyBoost is a tricky game, but once you get the hang of it, your in for a ride.

But be prepared, when you touch an obstacle, you will have to try again.

JumpJet Rex

JumpJet Rex

Hardcore indie retro platformers and time-attack games have been a dime a dozen for years now, but I’m extremely pleased to share that JumpJet Rex is among the very best I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing.

To save the Earth from a deadly asteroid, you’ll find yourself loose in a number of (mostly) bite-size levels in which you, a space-faring, rocket-boot-wearing T-Rex, must propel yourself through low gravity around obstacles and enemies, passing through a set number of golden rings to unlock the exit. You can combat enemies (and interact with some obstacles) with both Rex’s spin attack and, cleverly, the emissions from your rocket boots. You earn stars by completing the level and, optionally, by doing so without dying and/or doing so within a challenging time constraint. The progression scheme is reminiscent of Super Mario 64 - you choose non-linearly from an assortment of levels until you have enough stars to unlock the boss battle, and beating the boss unlocks a new assortment of levels, and so on. Coins scattered around the levels can be exchanged for a plethora of cosmetic items and color schemes for Rex, and easter-egg-style “treasures” encourage pushing the envelopes of the level designs and finding ways to explore out of bounds. Couch co-op (!!) is available if you don’t wanna go it alone.

Absolutely amazing game. I’ve wasted way too many hours playing this.

Nice little game that meets its goals, I found it fun for casual time-wasting and it has a good potential for challenge (the timer and splits are ideal). It runs fine on low-end machines (Asus X206HA 1.8GHz) with a linux OS. The controls are simple and ok (the inertia can be deceiving, as well as the failed double jumps), and there are already enough game mechanics to allow for dozens of additional levels (there is a wide margin on the difficulty).

What I would like to see/hear:

1. the possibility to practice each level individually, and to see my stats from the menu;

Skate Forever

Skate Forever

I try to reach developers before leaving any review, however, the one behind this game has not replied just yet and the game has serious bugs which will prevent users to pass certain stages.

First, you’ll get stuck on the 3rd stage - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGsWyCIF_VA

which you could at least pass if you slow down the game a lot, but that’s impossible to pass at normal speed.

After that, you’ll get to stage 15, where as you can see in this video towards the end, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkZpQxWEmgk&feature=youtu.be , you’ll jump at the very end of the platform (actually OUTSIDE it, and even like that, you won’t reach the other end).
