PolySquad Review

First of all, I have to mention that the game looks really nice. The map and character designs are good, but they need to improve their weapon designs a bit. Since it is an early access game yet I think it can improve better than many games. Let me talk about the good aspects of gameplay:

- Level System (from 1 to 78): I think it is really important to have a level system in online games. Because the player will try to move himself to a higher level and will play more.

For the first time, I am happy that we have seen a quality game from a Turkish company. To explain the game briefly and briefly, the game can be called a mini battlefield. Although the game is really fun, it would be better if the tanks and helicopters with many players have a slightly higher health. I wish success to the game and the developers.

Really fun strategy game with an environmental twist. This premise has you doubting between going all-in for the win and playing more conservatively to preserve the environment. I played beta for the past two years and the final version is even more polished! Server issues on launch day aside, great game and I certainly recommend it.

Extra fun when playing with friends, the AI is a decent matchup for beginners but can be predictable at times.

Update: Even better with the map editor and workshop update. You can now play with your friends on maps that you created yourself.

I would rate this:

Overall - 7/10

Strategy - 10/10

Graphics - 7/10

Originality - 9/10

Replay ability - 4/10

This game is great fun and it seemingly has the perfect balance of R.N.G. and strategy. I have never found myself in a spot where bad R.N.G. couldn’t have been avoided. Playing with friends is great if you can, but the AI are a good challenge. (The AI NeuralNewt on hard can put up a great fight.) This game isn’t really complete yet, I heard of some additions and maybe a campaign being added later on but the game as it is is fantastic- in concept. As I said don’t let its retro graphics fool you. It can drag out and be a bit and become, well, less nuanced to state it simply, and after playing it for a while, both through playing many rounds and/or long games.

If you are here reading this and the game is on sale for under $5.00, just buy it. EZPZ! I just saved you a bunch of time reading other reviews!

I love the potential TR has. It has a long way to go but the devs are showing me they are serious about their creation and I love it. The game is not there yet on a number of things, like 3rd person combat and adding a tutorial, but I’m seeing improvements every patch! I still have a lot to learn about the game but even in this early state I will recommend TR, but at the moment, only when its on a Steam sale.

While I did receive this for free and have been helping them test, I have found myself booting it up to play the survival mode without being prompted and doing it for fun. (TL;DR at bottom for lazy)

I have to say, the survival mode is quite fun. Difficult, but the challenge is what makes it fun. Furthest I’ve gotten is Battalion 5 on survival mode, which took over 2 hours to get to and I had a blast the entire time because my hero got OP halfway through. It scales with the population cap you set, the players in the game, and the difficulty you select. Normal is a decent challenge, Hard is, predictably hard, and nightmare difficulty is near impossible.

World of Tanks

World of Tanks

Okay, lets start with: Lot’s of good AND bad. The good? A well and long developed game with plenty of content and tons of tanks to play. A good selection of maps and plenty of nations to try out. Lots of freebies (PR’s ((personal reserves)) and even event tanks, camo and decals, etc.).

The BAD, oh the BAD… Okay, let me start off with this: I have been playing this game since release, 2011. I wasn’t part of beta, I waited till full release. I hate betas, too much changes in a full release from the testing phase. This game, as it is now, isn’t the game I started playing back then, Period. They have changed every aspect of the game many times over since then. You see, Gold tanks, now called Premium Tanks, were sub-par to the Tech Tree tanks. Which means they were WORSE than the regular tank of the same tier and same nation. Gold tanks were to train crews and make you a few extra credits (Silver) doing it, period, that’s it. They gave you NO advantage other than that. Now…now the Premium Tanks rule, extra armor, better this, better that, you name it. So now if you don’t buy the newest OP (Over Powered) Premium Tank, you are going to suffer vs them. Sound fair? Okay, that’s just the tanks. Ammo… when I started Gold Ammo (now Premium Ammo) cost real money, like real $$$. So it wasn’t thrown around often, very very rare was the person that used the Gold Ammo constantly. So in ten matches you might run into two of them that someone was slinging Gold. Then came the change, you can now buy Gold Ammo with Silver! (the normal in-game money). Now of course the Premium Ammo (Gold Ammo) cost more than normal ammo, but hey, everyone can use it now… So suddenly armor meant nothing. You could have the best armored tank on the game (back then a KV-5) but now EVERYONE is slinging Premium Ammo like no tomorrow so armor suddenly means zip (BTW, the KV-5 had some GREAT armor, but the gun was the worst of the tier 8’s in the game of any nation and would only pen the weakest of spots on any enemy tank). Now my biggest gripe, MM. (Match Making) Has changed many times over the years, and not once, ever… for the better. The whole concept of a three tier match (your tier plus 1-2 tiers above or below you) is so out of date with the newer OP tanks it isn’t funny. Just as a one off example (and there are PLENTY more) you are in your new shiny Tiger I, a tier 7 tank, near as you can get to what the Germans had as a best tank for WWII (not to mention the lesser used King Tiger, etc.) and you hit that big red “Battle” button. In your mind you are thinking “I finally got some real armor!” and the battle starts. Guess what… on that other team you are seeing tanks that were pure fantasy or didn’t even come out till the 1960’s to 1980’s (Tier 9’s). Really? A 1940’s tank is supposed to fight a 1980' tank? Guess what, it goes very poorly for the much much older tank. Sound fair? So MM has been broken from almost the start, it just has gotten more so over the years. The problem with MM isn’t just that, it also is with how often it seems to place you at the bottom as well, in 10 games you are for sure going to see at least 6-8 of them at the bottom tier. Over time that wears on you. Hard. Next is the Cars (Armored Cars). In real life the armored cars ran away from the tanks in a battle as fast as they could because a single shot would end their life. A single shot, period. Not here, you can hit a Car with a 12.8 cm gun (128 mm) full on and get that fateful message “We didn’t even scratch him!” or worse, “Critical Hit!” yet he takes no damage and just keeps driving like nothing ever touched him. And just for fun the auto-aim on the cars hits you no matter what the car is doing, turning, flying (jumping), etc. Sound fair?

I’ve been playing since Closed Beta back in 2011, and still play daily outside of Steam, so don’t let these steam hours fool you.

As you can clearly see from all the other negative reviews, each of them basically say the same thing because it’s just flat out fact, instead of opinion. There’s a very big fundamental problem with this game but it will not change because we are nobody to them. The only way to have a drastic change, in a game as big and successful as this, would be to not spend any more money ever until they make the necessary changes. Unfortunately, this will never happen because not everyone has the same opinions/thoughts/preferences/etc. There’s only one thing you can do. Play the game, or find another.

World War 2 Operation Husky

I started playing without reading the tutorial and after a couple of restart I figured it out.

Good game, thanks :)

I have a lot of fun playing this game. For those who enjoy playing Battle of the Bulge and Drive on Moscow, you will love this one. Operation Husky has additional units like bombers, artillery and paratroopers that make it greater. Similar to these two games, the battle ground is on one single map and the game has everything for a fast pace experience. The game is easy to play, highly tactical and is a very strategic wargame. Hills, forests and cities provide complexity and advantages in the Italian island of Sicily. Small imperfections found in the previous versions have been corrected and the AI was improved. Combats are fast, powerful and efficient and bombing or shelling supports are fun to watch. Graphics and sounds are professional. A game can be resolved in between 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Airship: Academy

Airship: Academy

Airship: Academy is a fantasy airship skyfaring simulation game with hyper-rich lore and narrative. Inspired by many space-sim and pirate-sim such as Star Control, Freelancer, and Sid Meier’s Pirates.

  • You are a veteran airship commander enlisted for a job in a Kingdom far from home

  • Navigate a vast open-world and explore the sky of a shattered continent

  • Engage in spectacular airship battles with insurmountable depth and complexity

  • Fight pirates, rob merchants, repel law enforcers, and challenge the military

  • Buy, build, and upgrade your airships and parts. Enlist, level up, and build relationships with your crews

  • Traverse the skyscape and learn about the history and recent events through helping and listening to people

  • Visit ports, towns, villages, and cities to collect resources and build industries

  • Over 70 ports and 150 NPCs each with unique storylines

  • Over 30 different airships with more than 150 parts to fit into them

  • More than 100 questlines to follow and unravel lore and mysteries of the world

YOU ARE THE COMMANDER

The Great Sky War has stalled, it has been almost a year since the last battle. War has been a good business. Without it, you have been resorting to freelancing to get by. An offer arrived one morning, from some big-name trade and security company. It is an honest and stable job, so you took it right away. Now you found yourself at the Segson Archipelago, unknowingly involved in something far greater than you ever wished for.

THE SHATTERED WORLD

Eons ago, the Great Cataclysm shattered Spheara into pieces. Wild magic wind engulfed the globe, lifting the grounds hanging afloat in the sky. Spheara is the world in the sky above the deadly and dark ocean. Life in such a world is difficult and perilous but humanity and civilizations found ways to prosper.

THE MAGICAL CONTINENT

The place in the center of our focus is the continental group of landmass called Europa. These landmasses above the great ocean below is classified into three belts or rings by their vastly different distance above the sea level. Different nations and cultures developed on different archipelagos, at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, they struggle to define their coexistence.

THE KINGDOM IN TURMOIL

The Kingdom of Suthseg has long been the sovereignty over the Sagson Archipelago, a cluster of three major drifting landmasses with plenty of rich minor isles. The Archipelago also holds the key prominent point of interest, that is the Great Mana Coil, the largest gateway allowing airships to descend and ascend across belts.

THE CHARACTERS

Destiny has brought about two young souls and two patriarchs together. All strive towards different things in life and want a better world for themselves and those who come after them. What will be their legacies?

UPGRADE YOUR SHIPS

You can make, buy, or take ship parts from many sources and fit them into a wide variety of airship frames. The balance between speed, agility, durability, firepower, and transport efficiency are key to various strategies and tactics once entered into battle.

BATTLE ADVERSARIES

Exercise the best use of tactics and skills of the crewmen. Push the capability of an airship to its limit and seize the day to enjoy the spoil of victory.

TRAVEL ACROSS EUROPA

The continent is vast. It has many things to offer, many stories to tell, treasures to collect, and mysteries to unravel. The measurement unit and time taken during travel are measured in real-time and real units. Even though the player can accelerate time, this can infuse them with a strong sense of immersion.

TRADE WITH MERCHANTS

Many ports and merchants offer parts, ships, and all sorts of other items that would aid the player in their quests for fame and fortune. Merchants sell and buy specific things, demand and supplies are also limited to the nature of the settlement they are from.

BUILD INDUSTRIES

Producing, processing, transporting, assembling, and manufacturing goods and weapons are beats that keep Europa going. While skyfaring, freelancing, and privateering could earn a ship captain a good fortune; supporting and arming a fleet would require other kinds of ingenuity.

Not sure how this will go as a PVP title, but as a single player WWII arena shooter it has a lot of promise

It runs well, has a decent roster of weapons and the maps have some nice variety. I’ve heard it was a team of 3 who made this game and that’s pretty solid.

The price may raise some eyebrows, but this one is worth taking a look at. It’s got a long way to go, but it runs decent and doesn’t feel like a rip off

So, every time I would checkmate the AI, the game would crash. Due to the fact that most of the other reviews also have low playtime, I am assuming it is either a new glitch or they didn’t play long enough to run into it.

ACE COMBAT™ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN

ACE COMBAT™ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN

Ace Combat 7 is an amazing game aswell as a good return-to-form for Project Aces. One thing I like the most is the gameplay, no doubt out of all the Ace Combat games I’ve played Skies Unknown has the absolute best. It’s as intense and high-octane as running from a guard dog, the only difference being it’s actually fun. But everything else is sort of lacking, and pales in comparison to the older games. The story is kinda… Meh. I loved the whole suicide-squad-esque story it had going on during the 444 missions, but everything after that started to get kind of dull. The DLC missions are wonderful though, my personal favorite being Anchorhead Raid. The soundtrack is good albeit kind of boring (even Daredevil. They use the Daredevil motif in a bunch of the songs here and it gets boring very quickly. Or well, atleast in my experience), that is except Magic Spear! Magic Spear is absolutely amazing and I love it with all my heart.

It’s a great game for anyone interested in Fighter Jets. Note: THIS IS NOT A SIMULATOR.

I’ve had plenty of fun flying around in a jet, taking out enemies left and right, it also has an interesting story, that is not at all confusing if you knowledge of the timeline prior to this.

The music is also amazing.

Multiplayer is kinda dead though with only two modes.
