Weaving Tides

Weaving Tides

A dream comes true… which we owe to the developers of Weaving Tides!

I backed the Kickstarter, already played the prologue and the beta demo for many hours, and now its final release - and I’m delighted!

This game brings a completely new technique and approach to gameplay, that is absolutely fun, but often requires a change in thinking! Whether it’s the style of defeating enemies, solving clever puzzles or discovering secrets or the very well thought out equipment - everything is just so nicely put into the shape of textile and fabrics and the woven world!

I knew this was a creative idea when I realized how difficult it was to explain to my friends- “It’s like, you’re like a needle and thread- but the needle is a dragon and you stitch bad guys away?” LOL

Weaving Tides is a great game; Fun, creative, visually appealing. Lots of neat moments and a satisfying level of progression. Not too long if you’re looking for a compressed experience, but plenty to chew on if you’re looking for more! The biggest downfall is one of the bosses I couldn’t really figure out (snake) and the rabbit munching puzzle- not sure if I did it right but I figured something to get through it. Both those puzzles left me feeling, like… I didn’t /really/ solve them. That aside, those are small things in a whole pile of great!

A Day

A Day

The first 1-2 hours I thought the game was absolutely brilliant. Not paying attention to the description of the game on the store page that mentioned you’re going for a high score, I kept thinking I was unravelling a puzzle that had a bunch of pieces that needed to be put together to have a grand finale of a story. There is an absolute gem of an idea for a game here but I think having simply made it high score driven instead of more narrative focused is a huge missed opportunity. I loved and hated this one. Loved the concept, hated the fact that after 3 hours I felt empty knowing that I was just going for points instead of something bigger.

‘‘Sonder: the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own’’.

That’s how A Day makes me feel.

The game is short and beautifully crafted, you play a different cast of characters each with their abilities, goals, and needs, over the course of a day

the Goal of the game is slowly stitching the fate of every character in a way that in the end, they can help each other.

I have played just 11 minutes of this game thus far and I am quite impressed. I like puzzle games and this is certainly a puzzle. For just 79p it is a bargain. Yes, it is repetitive, but so are traditional mazes. If you like to do a maze and want a new challenge then this is the game for you. If you are not into puzzle games then look elsewhere!

Would I recommend the game? No, honestly not. What I’ve been given is more annoying than cool. Luckily, everything that’s irritating is something that the developer can fix in future games. Before I talk about the issues, I wanted to talk about what I liked about the game.

The music is the immediate highlight, it’s really comforting and definitely works in the context of the game. The backgrounds are all really lovely and excellently drawn I’m not sure if these things were made by the developer or not but if they were, great job. Also the story is interesting, even if it’s communication could be way better.

SubDivide

SubDivide

This is a small, but neat little puzzle game in which you divide the world in two sections and use landmasses and objects in either section to reach the goal. The game implements many unique variations on the standard formula as well, to keep things fresh. All of the additions add a new layer of well-appreciated complexity, and are all implemented at a good pace, to give the player enough time to adapt to the changes before switching it up with something new. The game is a bit short, but it provides enough entertainment to make up for it. The game may be overall a bit small, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Its still a fun experience that I would recommend to anyone looking to alleviate their boredom with a nice platforming/world-splitting/gravity/etcetera puzzle.

One of the worst games I played in a long time. You can beat this game in less then 1 hr but that isn’t the main problem.

I really don’t get what this game is,it isn’t a platformer ,it mos def isn’t a puzzler so in the end this game feels like a demo cause I played longer demos then this game.A horrible game with bad controls and boring gameplay with 0 imagination.
