Where Shadows Slumber

Where Shadows Slumber

Where Shadows Slumber is a fun game with engaging light and shadow based puzzles. In each level, use your lantern along with other pieces of the environment to make a path to the next stage. This is a very good game originally released on android and i am pleased to see it get a PC release. The mouse controls work well even for someone with vision problems. I play using the windows 10 magnifier with the cursor always center option enabled. The graphics are good and easy to see and the audio quality is great. This is an absolute steal at such a low asking price! There are more mechanics involved and many different environments but I don’t want to spoil a good adventure!

Lona: Realm Of Colors

Lona: Realm Of Colors

I enjoyed the animation, and the visual story-telling was decent enough, but for a game that only has about 1 hour of content, I spent half of it just hunting for unfair hotspots, if not more. Sure, looking for objects in the picture is part of the genre, but at the same time, if the game is doing a poor job at getting my attention with color-coding, I end up clicking on every part of the screen. Maybe you could make a cursor shine if you hover over something interactive, I felt like I had to click on everything, most of the ‘interactive’ objects don’t stand out from the environment. Even if I knew the answer, I often overlooked the area which I already inspected - it should be more consistent with the area of effect. I thought most of the puzzles were extremely vague, sometimes I would solve the puzzle by accident, despite not knowing the solution before and after. Now I don’t expect realistic logic in a surreal game, but I expect the game to be intuitive and not just make progress because I clicked on something at random.

An artistic experiment that you will only play once, for a hour, and that you will never play again.

Buy it, or not. It’s a single-use ticket for a hour of your time.

Is LONA a bad game? I wouldn’t say that. It’s a short story narrated in 6-7 “tables/stages”.

White Cat - cute, GOOD!

Crow - BAAAD!

  • It’s a story of loss and grief narrated as a colourbook.

  • In literally 6-7 puzzle/tables, alternating between black and white and colours to find a balance.

  • YOU WILL CLICK. A LOT. RANDOMLY. EVERYWHERE. HOPING TO FIND SOME INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS.

Sweet Holiday Jigsaws: Halloween Night

Sweet Holiday Jigsaws: Halloween Night

Sweet Holiday Jigsaws: Halloween Night is a jigsaw puzzle lover’s delight! The game is totally addictive and I keep going back to place a few more pieces.

The seasonal pictures are lovely to look at and there are 5 chapters, each with 36 images to choose from, plus a bonus (which I have not unlocked yet) and a random, perhaps timed? extra.

There is also the option of using your own photos or art to create puzzles.

Once you have selected your puzzle, you can customize your experience with a variety of choices, such as:

Interesting, beautiful, colorful puzzles. There is an option to have a timer set to ‘on’ or ‘off’. Even though the puzzles are “cute” which would appeal to younger children I think the puzzle-solving level is set more for teens-to-adults. Halloween themed.

Adventures With a Girl

EDIT: The developer got in touch with me by a response to this review and a private message. Turns out the discussion thread was deleted in good faith, they apparently posted an answer, but deleted it after a little while in an attempt to avoid spoilers, and I just missed seeing it. Respecting that view I won’t share the solution, but level 9 IS PASSABLE. And I now recommend this game- yay! I wouldn’t have thought a bug was a possibility if I had read another review saying they had actually completed the game, so when I do, I will update this review again.

A very fun game, made with a creative approach. The puzzles are just right - not very easy and not too difficult, the available hints also make you think. The game is addictive and coming up with a solution is fun. It is not perfect, we will not find great graphics or other wonders here, simple and pleasant game.

Hidden Object - Sweet Home

Hidden Object - Sweet Home

Ok, I am an historian (at least I should be one) and I admit I’m really not accustomed that much to computer programming or game developing, but this game - which has the usual settings window before launching it, in which you can choose to play windowed or full screen, the resolution and the graphics quality - when put in tray or in the ctrl+alt+canc window (ok sorry readers, my PC interfaces are all in Italian or in French and I don’t remember now its name ahah) it’s called “Woman House”.

Quite different from the game title on the Steam store..

How can anyone like this. Ok it’s a game where you search for hidden objects, that’s cool, but why do you have a story that was written by a 9 yo girl it’s so bad. The characters face is so badly photoshoped, just use someone from real life. If I had to rate this game I would give 2/10 just because Iike searching for hidden objects. Also can someone tell the dev what hidden object looks like the game on hard mode AKA the last 5 lvl out of 15 btw, every object you click on is collected and it’s just super boring and I am going to keep it running on background only to get the stupid achievement. Litterally who would spend their time on this game legitly playing it. There is like one million of free online games so why would you spend your 1,59€ on this game. I got it for free so it doesn’t matter to me, but just why would you do this. How would I make it better you might ask: 1. Delete the story 2. Make the objects look like they aren’t photoshoped in it 3. Make more than 15 lvl in which you have 5 different rooms 4. Make it free or for 99 eurocents 5. Make a level selection 6. Add mute audio 7. Don’t add more languages if you don’t even know them just don’t translate them with google thx 8. Add some real objects not like mushrooms in kid’s room I hope your kids don’t have them there 9. Don’t loop one song it becomes annoying as hell just loop 3 or more songs NOTE: If you wanna argue with me about that this game is not bad etc. I allowed comments

Pathfinders: Memories

Pathfinders: Memories

Pathfinders: memories is a lovely puzzle platformer, the goal of the game is simple:

Guide the robot from point A to B, but the puzzle here is that you can only memorize the path and only see the grids to guide the robot. While it seems simple, it becomes easily a challenging game, I loved it.

Is something more to love in this game? Yes, there is! I love how cute the robots are, seeing them walking is so satisfying, plus a chilling soundtrack to listen while you’re playing, I can’t recommend this game enough.

Real player with 22.3 hrs in game

I have a good time playing this cute game where I can challenge my memory. You have to memorize the safe path then draw it when it is hidden. You can use pins and checkpoints to help you but you lose points for using them, so be careful if you aim the high scores. I like that they use scenarios from different people in History, even some unusual like the Mali!

Songs of Armageddopolis

Songs of Armageddopolis

Songs Of Armageddopolis is a point’n’click detective game. In a world where magic and technology go hand in hand, and people disappear without a trace every day, you will play the role of a young psionic named Glaz, who is doing an internship at a detective bureau. The bosses don’t like you. You think that the reason for this antipathy is the form of your head: it is too round. But that is not the point. The point is: you stink of death and defeat. Why are you even here? Well, there were some reasons, probably, but now they are of no significance. This city has secrets and you must reveal them. To become the best detective. To plunge your enemies into dust. And to find your true love.

Features

  • Mysterious Tower, which combines platforming mechanics and point’n’click adventure mechanics.

  • Lots of mini-games.

  • The ending depends on your playing style

  • Telekinesis is your main tool. Use it to interact with the game world.

  • This game is not for weaklings. If you die on Normal difficulty, you cannot continue playing.

  • Realistic coffee machines.
