Here Goes Muffin

Here Goes Muffin

Here Goes Muffin is an exploratory, physics-based, puzzle platformer, starring… A muffin. With legs. Collect various sweets that will enable you to explore the world in new and exciting ways!

Powerups

Every powerup gives you a new way to move through the world. For example:

The Popsicle Lets You Jump!

The Lollipop Wheels let you climb hills, and hang below platforms!

And many more! Mix and match your powerups to overcome the unique challenges that come your way.

The world

Muffin beware: This place isn’t all sugar and sunshine. The path of a muffin is wrought with danger, and soon enough, you will just want to get back home.

There are several areas to explore; Some cheerful, some inhospitable, and some downright scary ones! All part of one big, interconnected world.

Jump, climb, swim, and fly your way to new heights (or depths) to see all that the world has to offer, and try not to fall into the many pits of spikes!

Lanternium is a nice puzzle game that has potential but sadly fails in too many things.

The camera is awful and the main reason why Im giving it thumbs down-In a puzzle game such as this you should be able to see the whole map and use the mouse to move the camera but instead you have to constantly rotate the camera and the angles on the cam view are awful.

Second, the controls are clunky and slow when you need to be fast.

Graphics are awful and the whole game is so ugly your eyes will hurt.

Music is repetitive and boring.

The game’s difficulty ramps up as you progress through the 28 levels, each of which poses unique challenges. It’s not hard to work through them, though: with mechanics that are easy to pick up on without explanation (except for controls, shown when starting the game), plenty of accessibility features (those being autojump, automove, and the undo/redo buttons) that can make it easy to traverse over obstacles, and a free hint that can be picked up at the start of every level, plenty of help is given for players to work through the rather complex nature of 3D first-person puzzlers. Observation, planning, and cleverness are key in order to reach the end of all of the puzzles made, even more so with the bonus yin-yang collectibles.

Obversion is a complex yet elegant platform puzzler. You can work your way through it without significant struggle or you can take time to ruminate on the puzzles. The difficulty does ramp up through the worlds and you may find yourself with a puzzle that requires more thought than blindly barreling forward.

The music is a special gem. I wouldn’t want to spoil it for prospective players, but what I can say is that it compliments the levels and builds on itself as you progress.

The dev put a lot of thought into movement mechanics and it seems that the puzzles have been mapped out and thoroughly thought through. I found myself stumped in one place or another until I noticed a pattern or subtle hint.

If you want to test your endurance, ability to calculate and wait for the right moment, then this game is for you! Sometimes you want to give up, but knowing that just a little bit is left, you try again and again, again and again, and at the end, having achieved the result, you exhale with relief and feeling that the danger is behind, but in fact, your adventure is just beginning

TorqueL

TorqueL

This is a fun, very overlooked game. The graphics are very plain, but if you can look past that there is interesting gameplay beneath. It can be pretty frustrating sometimes; it’s definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoy physics-based games and having to adapt to a unique movement system - it’s worth a shot. You might want to use a controller though - whlie the game is fully beatable with a keyboard, you (probably) aren’t able to press all 4 extend buttons at the same time, which could prove useful in certain situations.

Real player with 21.8 hrs in game

I’m gonna start off by saying this:

This game is not for everyone and should only be played using a USB controller of some kind to avoid throwing your monitor out your window.

TorqueL plays like the 2D portal you always wanted, but more spamming all four directions at once to throw yourself around in the chamber to get to the next chamber. By chamber 10, you find your long lost daughter, so she can walk around in a big cube with you too. This is exactly how accurate the storyline gets by playing the first ten miuntes of it, then again thats all you need to see to figure out if this game is right for you. If it’s on sale for like $3.00, buy it, open up a six pack or light up a doobie and laugh your ass off as you try to get through some of the more advanced chambers that require more strategic button mashing. Overall, the game keeps you entertained if you’re under the age of 7, enjoy no storyline, and you enjoy the same gravity and lava combination in every chamber. The reason why I’m recommending this game is because it wouldn’t be a bad buy for the price of a candy bar because there’s simply not much else to the game other than what you experience about fifteen minutes into it.

Aya’s Journey

Aya’s Journey

This is a change in pace for me, because I genuinely hate writing this review.

I’ve wondered why the ‘Limbo’ style games never caught on. Until now. This game is like Death Stranding, except bad. Bad in an irredeemable way. I don’t even think it matters what I say, because this game seems to be in eternal ‘Early Access.’ It’s very likely the 2 people working on this game (that’s not a joke), gave up on this project as no progress has been made in 3 years.

But hey that’s what happens when you allow 2 people to run a game company with ADHD. (that’s a zinger).

If your a fan of Limbo then you will like this. Few times I had to push an item a little to long to get it in place for the puzzle but not sure yet if that is part of the story or lack of. Can’t wait to see what else comes of this title…

Pros: Artwork, Atmosphere, similar style as Limbo, price, early access

Cons: Repetive Soundtrack, pushing something at a slow pace for what seems a little to long

Very cool and a great addition to Flatland series! It brings up new interesting mechanics that refreshes entire previous experience. Beautiful graphics and nice soudtracks! The game difficulty is well balanced and very challenging sometimes. Recommended!

So much fun! You can beat it in under 30 minutes, but speedrunning it and figuring out what paths to take, where dashing would be useful even in the early levels, and just getting a full run without dying takes a lot longer.

FLATLAND Vol.1

FLATLAND Vol.1

This game is a pretty fun, fast-paced platformer! Not too difficult, though there were a handful of levels that kicked my butt for a teeny bit. The music is pretty banging! Got 100% achievements in just under 7 hours in one sitting. The extra game modes you unlock, “Faster Than Light” (race against the clock) and “Not Him Again” (Boss Chase), were pretty fun and challenging additions to the game! I didn’t really care much for the “Square Fights Back” (arena) mode but others may enjoy it!

I can’t believe I missed that first C-C-C-C-Cube though! I went through each level like 3 or 4 times before I found it. _ And there’s literally NO Achievements Guides anywhere on the Internet nor Steam. But I did find 48/50 of them on the first play-through so they were pretty easy to find! :)

Flatland is an incredibly well-designed platformer that focuses on player skill and reflexes.

The retrowave aesthetic is vivid, simple and engrossing. I love the use of simple geometric shapes and how they all somehow have a unique character and personality. The bonus levels look particularly stunning when you find them!

The music is also sublime with a handful of catchy electronic/synthwave tracks that are both distinct and match the mood of the game perfectly.

The gameplay is super fast with level design that goads the player into finding creative solutions. It has a free-form platforming design that lets you wall-jump indefinitely, dash

Celeste meets Tron!

There’s nothing much to dislike in this game: It’s got tight controls, gorgeous neon graphics, and a powerful soundtrack!

Don’t be fooled by the first levels, it can get really challenging real fast!

If you are into hardcore platformers and enjoy stimulating levels, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Recommended!

So basically everything I liked about Volume 1 and the Prologue is here, with the added bonus of some QoL changes made. Movement is tight and satisfying, graphics are very aesthetically pleasing and the music is just great.

If you want precision platforming in the vein of kaizo Mario maps and Celeste, look no further. This is it.
