Taiji

Taiji

Taiji is an adventure puzzle-solving game set in a mysterious world full of puzzles. Unlike many adventure games, the puzzles in Taiji all use a consistent interface: a grid of tiles which can be toggled on or off.

Although this might seem simple, the consistency of the interface frees the player from guesswork or pixel hunting that happens in many adventure games. It is always clear what the player must interact with in order to solve the puzzle, but it is never entirely clear what they must do. There are many different areas in the game, each with their own visual and mechanical themes. As you explore this dense world, it is important to think hard and to pay close attention, as vital clues are sometimes hidden in plain sight.

A worryingly recursive puzzle game about pushing boxes into other boxes. Rearrange the structure of the world itself to forge a path to the exit!

The game’s 50+ puzzles are designed to take the player on a difficult but rewarding journey, showcasing the bizarre and delightful consequences that emerge from the game’s various mechanics.

After 2.5 years of development, this recursive sokoban game is… not quite done yet! But it’s close; stay tuned for the release date.

This game is not called Inbox Outbox but I’m typing that out here for SEO reasons ;)

Long Tail

Long Tail

edit: full screen mode and reduced screen shake.

long tail is a minimalist draw a single line puzzler with a twist. normally these take place on a grid, gotta find a way to cover all the tiles, maybe even connect dots of different colors, etc. in this case though, you’re collecting coins scattered around all sorts of layouts by dashing around, no grid to stick to. sounds like a cakewalk, you say? well…

I like it, it feels like the real challenge is to get a “coin” (didn’t know coins could be square) on every line but the game doesn’t force you to complete it like that, which is good because getting a coin on each line can be insanely hard even at the early levels. Good visuals for a small little game like this, really like that you emit light which shows you where you can shoot.

Snaliens

Snaliens

snaliens is a sokoban/snake/circuits hybrid with no timer and unlimited undo, just the way I like it, and yet another game that’s as cute as it is hard (very), so family-friendly in the sense that you’ll need all the family to crack the levels, but don’t think kids would get very far on their own.

Pretty good puzzle game of the sokoban type. It explores a variety of solid mechanics over about a hundred unique levels. Nice difficulty curve. It never gets crazy hard, but some levels can offer compelling challenges

Eye of the Temple

Eye of the Temple

I’ve been playing video games since 1978.In 2013 I fell out of love with video games ! Then in 2016 this New Video game “Gimmick” Known as Virtual reality came along .My first experience was PSVR And I was Instantly transported into dreamland !However I craved More .I built a PC and bought a Rift S and then a Quest 2. In My 5 years of enjoying VR this was the first game that delivered the roomscale experience that was seemingly Abandoned. It will test your mental ability as well as your physical fitness {Remember I’m 50 years old ) This game was utterly brilliant /sometimes frustrating because of difficult sections but extremely rewarding once completed. This game got my fat backside off the the couch literally (Because I had to move it) To create a 2x2 meter space .If you loved The original Tomb raider games but wished you could jump inside them or hoped for a Star Trek Holo deck experience with the clever design of folding a physical space inwards and outwards upon itself .Then this is an absolute Must Buy Game! With a torch in one hand and a whip in the other ducking /sliding and moving my way across some very cleverly designed Puzzles and Deadly Traps I was exhausted and amazed.Hopefully the very small team that has delivered this innovative game can bring out a sequel .One of the best VR games I’ve ever played !

As far as VR games go, this one is a gem. While there have been experimental games with nothing but real-world locomotion (for lack of a better term), this is the first full game utilising the concept and it does so masterfully.

In case you haven’t heard and are reading this because you are on the fence about the game: There is no artificial movement in this game at all. No stick movement, no teleport, nothing. The whole world is completely navigated by physically moving around in your playspace. The way the game uses that small space to traverse a huge gaming world is nothing short of genius. And most of all, it’s really fun.

Project Grove: Prologue

Project Grove: Prologue

If you’re a fan of atmospheric science-fantasy worlds and steampunk, you’ll be delighted about the optics of Project Grove! You play as 64 year old Edric Tate (cool to have an older protagonist for a change, btw) who explores a new region together with his little helper robot L-P1N. The two engage in playful banter, which is delivered a bit wooden at times, but entertaining in general.

The gameplay is fun, it consists mostly of walking around, exploring and platforming at this point. The progression of difficulty is good in the prologue, although the last few meters are a bit difficult, platforming-wise. You’ll also need patience to figure out some of the puzzles. But the game isn’t super hard, perfectly doable even for somebody who isn’t very familiar with this type of game.

PROJECT GROVE: PROLOGUE is an adventure puzzle game. Where you will go and explore the Forest of Dacrima as legendary alchemist Edric Tate along with your plucky robot companion L-P1N. The goal is to Brew potions allowing you to solve puzzles to help you in your search for a cure to STOP The Great Rot.

What I loved about this game is a few things

  1. The Graphics were nice, and the atmosphere felt somewhat alive with the whales and weird

jumping spiky balls.

  1. It had Keyboard and mouse as well as Controller options and the controls were smooth and easy to use which is awesome.
