Zuma Deluxe
I have NO idea how I managed to put so many hours into this game. This is a casual, easy to learn, fast-paced game. I consider games like this perfect “thinking” games…not because the game itself takes a lot of thought (it doesn’t) but because you can let your mind go elsewhere while playing. I often clicked this game open when on the phone, listening to music, mulling something over, just had a few minutes, etc. But yet, it is still a fun little game to get serious about if you want to. This is exactly what a casual game should be. Colorful graphics, many different game boards, addictive (I am trying to cut down), and fast-paced.

Oh my, that’s the game that took so many days, and nights, and even some of the work time from me and many of my friends! While it’s not really innovative or something, being a bit upgraded version of the Bejeweled… It was Zuma who made me and so many other people possessed!
You know, I’m not really recommending you the game. If you’re not a fan of casual games like “match 3”, you’ll be quite okay without it. And even if you’re a fan… Maybe you should not try it. Because yes, it is a poison. The S-grade time consumer. You take a level, then one more, then just one more… Each of them isn’t anything really hard, and take about a minute or two… but then, you wake up hours later somewhere on the 8-4 level, and thinking “This one should be the last!”. And maybe you’ll quit right away. But you’ll surely return, and get to the 13th level eventually. And if someday you’ll manage that highest 13th too, that accomplishment will be marked in your head on the same scale, as, like, finishing an annual income statement!

PuzzleQuest: Challenge of the Warlords
Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords is an addicting puzzle game with an added roleplaying element. The title was developed by Infinite Interactive and published by Namco Networks America. Anyone who has played Tetris, Bejewelled or any similiar game will be quite familiar with the puzzle portion of this fantastic title but for me, as a heavy R.P.G. fan, it was this part of the game that really makes it stand apart from the others in the genre.
As in the start of a typical roleplaying game you select your character and class before the terrific story sends you traveling across a vast fantasy world in search of quests, battles and loot. I found the story to be extremely compelling and at times humorous. It definitely keeps your attention and makes you want to wander about and converse with any person or beast that would cross your path. The combat, of course, takes place in puzzle format and tasks you with matching pairs of colored gems, skulls and other items while casting spells as well as a variety of other attacks and moves against your opponent. As you battle you earn experience points which you can spend upgrading your skills as well as accquiring gold and loot with which you can better outfit your character. You also have the option to capture opponents and hold them in your dungeon. You can then learn new spells and combat tactics from your prisoners as well as use the captured beasts as mounts as you traverse the world.

Many people say that AI cheats in this game. There already are a lot of reviews describing the game mechanics, so I decided to dwell a bit on this cheating matter.
The PC opponent doesn’t get better random drops than a human player. I’ve spent a lot of time noting all chain reactions leading to the extra turns and tons of damage, and I saw that the chances of you and AI getting the lucky strike are pretty much similar, BUT it might seem that the computer cheats.
Why is that so?
First, we tend to attribute our wins to our skill, and our losses to our bad luck. That’s one funny bias. And it’s not limited to videogames for sure. If we get a good contract or a promotion, it means we’re skilled and we’re great. If someone else gets it, they’re a lucky bastard. Back to the game, when we make our careful measured moves and get good drops, we think, yay, I’m so good at this game! But when AI gets the same good drops, we never think, ooh, my PC is a strong player. No! Cheat! Not fair!

Chains
Chains is a game about linking 3+ bubbles of the same colour. It features 20 puzzles, each different from one another. Rules, objectives, layout change from one puzzle to the next, sometimes even the gravity is modified.
Basically though there are two types: puzzles that make you think a little, and puzzles where you have to act fast. Unfortunately there is much more of the “act fast” ones. When I got this game I thought it will be relaxing & laid-back. It wasn’t most of the time. Chains require focus, reflex and speed, which makes it rather tense experience, stressful even. Hey, I’m old ^^

To start off, I bought this game for 50 cents with a 90 percent off coupon, from its original price of 4.99. That’s a pretty good deal in my opinon at least. I like to think of these types of games as Flash Games, or rather those you can play on the internet for free. Thus meaning I do think the price on this is a bit to high, and 99 cents instead would be quite a great deal.
Compared to a free web game, this game offers the same amount of gamplay, level systems and what not, you finish one you go the next, pretty simple. But that also means that is the only things it offers if you know what I mean.

Batu Ta Batu
batu ta batu would be a pretty cool matching game, not your typical match-3 variety, but mostly broken controls make it largely unplayable. the store page says keyboard supported (as if it should be a feature in a pc game), but it just means the game sometimes reacts to keypresses somehow.

Captain Backwater
Pretty fun little puzzle game so far, I’m about a quarter of the way through. Only drawback I see is there are no targets for the number of moves so you don’t really know how well you did on each level. You can replay to beat your own score but it would be nice to have some indication of the minimum number of moves required to complete each level. I recommend but I got this in a bundle for a buck and a half. Doubt I’d recommend it at the 8.99 price.

Captain Backwater:
Sailors, avast ye (pay attention)! See this old scroll in my hand . . . can someone tell me why sailor Sean is looking at my hook? Oh, shiver me timbers - this scroll is the map of the archipelago right in front of us! One hundred islands in total and all have a cross on them! That’s right me hearties, each hold exceptional booty for the taking. Arrgh, now seriously . . . does anyone on board have half a brain? “Yo Ho Ho” the entire crew screamed! “Oh boy, it’s going to be a long treasure hunt”, thought Captain Backwater.

## Cave Quest 2
_I got a review copy of this game for my curator and wrote this a month before release, so it might be slightly outdated._
Cave Quest 2 looks like a pretty run-of-the-mill Hidden Object game, but it's actually a solid P&C match-3 puzzle adventure. I'm not familiar with the first Cave Quest, but didn't feel like that was a problem.
This game is easy on the eyes with some really nice backgrounds, though there are no animations for the NPCs and their expressions were sometimes weirdly inappropriate for their text (voiceover only in a few cutscenes). The story isn't mind-blowing, but it's entertaining enough and written or translated/proofread by someone who actually knows English.

In this video I take a look at Cave Quest 2, a match 3 adventure.
This game is great! I ended up playing the entire thing including the extra story line. It plays like a point and click adventure only everything is done via match 3 matches, from the travel and combat to foraging and forging. So if you love match three's your going to love this. The travel matches are particularly good as they offer a different perspective on the match 3\. You need to clear tiles to move your avatar forward and the gems will drop in the direction you are moving.

## DiamondFalls
DiamondFalls like tetris-match-3 type puzzle game designed for puzzle fans. The goal of the game is to solve the puzzle in such a way that there should be a possibility to collect all same colored diamonds and balls in the certain order on the level. The puzzle consists of many interacting objects, which can change their state depending on some influence or different game situation. Diamonds, balls, stones and bombs fall down under gravitation influence and time for all these operations is limited. Enthralling and advanced logic levels, elaborated interface and various visual and sound effects will bring you a lot of pleasure!
