Cork The Volcano

Cork The Volcano

Cork The Volcano is such a fun game that reminisces towards my childhood. Aimed towards kids and young ones, this platformer makes you help a cute little dino traverse the good looking and well designed levels. With the levels getting more challenging as you progress, Cork The Volcano makes you think and use the skills you just learned to move towards the end game. Aimed towards kids, but recommended for all ages who love a fun and fairly challenging platformer with a cute story.

Rain City has about 3 hours of content and a nice aesthetic for such a low price, but there are some problems with puzzle logic and interface. I noticed that ‘Cotton Game’ is not listed as the developer, so I wonder if they were involved with this project on the creative level - I would expect more polish from them if they were. Overall, the puzzles are very similar to the previous games, and they can be somewhat challenging if not a little heavy on the moon logic. I also had a few problems with the atmosphere when it comes to the soundtrack. In my opinion, there are too many rooms that don’t have any music, that being said, I think most of the songs are enjoyable. While I understand that devs were trying to use the silence strategically, it was just too much and made the game feel empty. Additionally, the game is a bit glitchy, but I only had to reset the game one time when my character got stuck in the animation. Some of the interface problems are more frequent, there are all kinds of issues involving pixel hunting.

A hermit crab is finding a house

A hermit crab is finding a house

A rage inducing puzzle in a good way.

Just 30 levels but I had to restart several of the levels many, many times before I figured out the solutions.

Don’t press Escape to return to the menu - the menu just freezes and you have to kill the game and restart to proceed.

Bunny Factory

Bunny Factory

Puzzle pastime game, same style as the previous one: “Kick it Bunny”, here too the protagonists are these cute little mischievous bunnies who sometimes even kick themselves.

The graphics are cute in cartoon style, and the third-person visibility, so you always see where you are moving, there’s no danger of getting stuck with your avatar.

PLOT

We are in a large factory that produces robots, but unfortunately everything is stopped, nothing works, to reactivate production it is necessary to do an initial configuration of all the control modules scattered in the various locations of the factory.

Move ‘n’ Bloom

Move ‘n’ Bloom

After finishing all the levels I can say that this game is a good puzzler but it has flaws.I one major flaw is that you have to bore yourself to death with first 40 levels because they are so easy even a 7 year old would have no problem solving them and given this game has 60+some extra levels that is too much easy levels if you ask me so the second negative would be lack of levels for this price.Really I could give you 10 similar games that you could buy for less then a buck.

But Im happy to say that in the end despite the flaws there are some really good and smartly designed levels after level 40 and thats why I am recommending this game. This is a sokoban game with the catch that all the pieces move at the same time so I really enjoyed most of the later levels and in the end I wish there were more. The decision the devs made is not uncommon so you would think that they would learn that the progression of difficulty in these kind of games is important(after all this is a puzzle game). So you probably guessed by now I have mixed emotions about this one but in the end this is a good puzzler and on a sale its worth your money and time.

edit: 8 new levels and more generous undo got added, so I edited parts of the review.

disclaimer: I’m in the credits because of some post-release feedback, I wasn’t involved in development.

move ‘n’ bloom is a cute but relatively challenging matching game where you have to bring identical… whatever they are together to make them bloom. it’s a ‘move all the things together’ kinda puzzler, one of my least favorites, and of course if there are 3 of the same color, the 3rd can’t just be added to an already bloomed configuration, but with 4 or more, they don’t all have to be turned into a single batch.

QB Planets

QB Planets

Tilt 5 gift and I will have fun playing this AR style.

The puzzles are interesting. I felt like the first two planets should have fewer levels just to let you get to the more interesting added elements in planets 3 and 4 sooner. Or, allow a percentage complete to unlock the next planet.

I can imagine the complexity of the possible rotations makes it difficult to gauge (or calculate) the requirements for the medals. Some were just hard enough, some were a good challenge (the 10 second level), but many I was surprised I could solve in very few rotations compared to the minimum goal. Early days, so I’m guessing this gets “balanced” as telemetry shows minimums and averages.

Fun puzzle game. Not enough levels to warrant a lot of playtime, but unique enough to enjoy the challenge. Received for free for preordering Tilt Five, curious to see how this plays in AR.

The king is gone

The king is gone

Let me start by saying that this game could have potential and i was really curious to try it intrigued by the trailer, unfortunately only later i realized the whole game is right to that trailer.

I’m a lover of endless games, roguelike, dungeon crawler and any game that has puzzle elements, but this “The king is gone” reaches monotony very quickly.

Gameplay is very limited and flat, you can’t move or interact with anything around you, you can simply watch around while the character walks automatically for a short distance before arriving to a room where you must choose which door to open, so the only input available is the left click mouse.
