Blewie
Very satisfying and challenging puzzle game that will keep you thinking outside the box. Simple rules with brilliant execution. Plenty of content with over 100 stages, boss battles, and unlockable bonus mini games and powerups. An ultimate (and maybe a little sadistic ;-P ) 8-bit brain teaser with some epic tunes. I just cleared it all, can you?

I usually review weird hentai games so when my curator friend asked me if I wanted to try BLEWIE and the FUN HOUSE let’s just say I found those words misleading. In reality, it reminds me of some games I’ve played on very old computers with green screen monitors. I really miss one where you’re an ant trying to escape a level having to dodge what looked like wasp heads chasing you. You could drop boulders on them or shoot them. Can’t remember the name though. Anyway, this game is kinda like that but in color and the music is really good.

holedown
The concept and core gameplay of this game is fantastic and the presentation is super smooth. That said, the lack of content is really fatal for any hope that I could recommend this. You get to the final level really quickly. Another review said 5 hours but I’m pretty sure it took me much less than that. After that all you have to do is to try and get a high score on a very boring endless mode. I stuck with it for a long time but that was mostly because of how easy it was to pick up and the fact that I had very little else to play at the time. It’s kind of felt like drawing blood from a stone ever since I beat the final level. For this price point there’s loads of other puzzle games you can get that have far more content in them. Albeit none of them scratch the same itch this game does, which is why I’m honestly more disappointed than I ordinarily would be. If they released a substantial expansion to this game to add extra content it might be worth it, but as it stands you’ll get bored pretty quickly.

This game is very similar to a free mobile game called Ballz (I don’t know which came first or if Ballz was an original idea anyway, but whichever of the two came second was either drawing direct inspiration from the other or they are both drawing from an earlier inspiration), but I think it justifies its cost because just about every difference between it and Ballz is an improvement. The rounded corners allow for some level of strategic skill shots while still being pretty chaotic, and the way that some pieces will fall if the piece below them is removed adds a layer of strategy as well. It doesn’t take very long to buy out all the upgrades and reach the endless level, and the upgrades aren’t wildly interesting; I think the simple gameplay is sufficient, but it almost makes me feel like the game should’ve skipped the whole phase before you have all the upgrades. The one quality of life improvement I wish the game had is a faster restart after you lose (or even win), since all the ui animations etc. you see (and especially watching your collected gems move to your wallet) feel like they detract from the pick-up-and-play, arcadey immediacy of the game for me.

Pipe Mania
A very interesting game!

I got to admit, all I really wanted was a slightly upgraded version of the Win 3.1 Pipe Dream. This version is similar and offers a few nice quality of life improvements, but it makes the game unnecessarily complicated and suffers from technical issues: it manages to run slower than Crysis, has broken videos and no display settings to speak of. There is also a fairly long intro that makes each gameplay session a commitment.

Super Space Towers
Hello World… Working in the QA department for this game was a delight. If I could sum up the game in one word, it would be “Satisfying”!
Piloting the ship is more satisfying than an Instagram ### as the mechanics are very smooth and the graphics are polished. All visuals in the game are very well crafted and are easy on the eye. The sounds effects and visuals work together in perfect sync to create an amazing gameplay experience.
I love the simple, yet hard to master mechanics and the speed-running aspects of the game. It’s a great challenge to top the leaderboards and this gives the game an enjoyable arcade like feel!

So few games like this, with the Thrust / Asteroids type control. Creamy playability and the cargo pickup / dropoff mechanism adds a unique extra dimension to the already awesome physics.
Graphics are crisp and polished, with a cool Nebulus-style rotating tower type effect. Enemies, pods and bubbles etc. sound and flash and satisfyingly when you shoot them. There are some neat design elements such as the elegantly curved platforms of Level 7, the rising water when you shoot water pods, and the slingshot style puzzle from one of the extra levels.

Sweep’n’Sweep
While the idea behind this game is simple, it makes for a great time waster. Clearing the lines feels satisfying, gradually rising difficulty eases you into the game and achievements provide some extra challenge if you’re up for it. For the price that’s asked it’s a steal.

A worthy extension of the original.
With line clearing, you don’t get stuck in a situation where you have to guess.
The result is a more satisfying experience where you clear your mind while you clear the mines.

THE 2048
Well, you get what you pay for. That’s basically it. I mean, I assume that you heard about this game before purchasing it, so there’s not much novelty. Of course, the developer added this modern mode (which, for the record, I never really tried), some achievements to be unlocked and some other options where you can get to choose a custom size for the grid. There’s a song playing in the back, but I really didn’t care for it. The resolution of the screen isn’t really that friendly, so be careful when you return to the desktop, you might think that your PC has shrunk or something likely. Overall, it’s a basic 2048 game, with some extras and usually sold for a very affordable price. If you’re a fan of the style, go for it.

Very nice game where you move the numbers, all up, all down, all left or all right, and when two identical numbers bump into each other, they merge and become one with twice their value.
The goal is to get as far as possible before you are out of moves.
I see people say that you can get games like this for free? Well, I like Steam, Steam screenshots, and options. And you certainly get the options here:

Cubixx HD
5 stars out of 5; it is like the classic game Qix, but based off a cube stage, and it’s possible to play co-op or MP [5 thoughts]
1. i love this game, to me it is very similar to tetris. simplistic but not easy to master
2. soundtrack has some very decent moments
3. picking your laser’s color will change the sound that it makes… this is huge, imagine if sound #1 annoys the hell out of you
4. depth, beating most of the lower stages will not be difficult. making it to stage 50 on arcade will be

This game is a remake version of a Cubixx game from PSP and I think its pretty good to have a content that isn’t available from PSP.
Its basicly a Qix in a nutshell, its a Mixed ideas between Qix and 3D Perspective, giving a Fast-Paced Arcade Slice and Dice gameplay.
Its really addicting to play this game, and added Steam Leaderboard brings more competitive to the gameplay.
The only thing that I really wish is Multiplayer, since this game supports up to 8 players, if I’m not mistaken, and I really wish if there’s an Online mode where you can play multiplayer also.

Deep Under the Sky
In the undiscovered recesses of a faraway planet, beautiful and strange organisms live and breathe in a psychedelic Venusian world of dancing lights and metroid-like organisms. Similarly psychedelic to the visual style of the game is the soundtrack, with its equally as trippy and ambient qualities that build up and evolve with each successful move you make.
Deep Under the Sky uses a one-button control system that while incredibly easy to use is surprisingly deep in execution. The objective of each gorgeously organic stage is to fertilize each glowing plant with the debris from the exploded amoeba-like jellyfish that release from the base you control. As simple as that sounds reaching each carefully placed plant and spreading your pieces far enough to fertilize them will be a matter of careful aiming and finesse as you surpass each obstacle and navigate each twist and turn of the maze-like passageways.
– Real player with 12.9 hrs in game
The only reason I am not recommending Deep Under the Sky on Steam is due to how poorly it was ported over from a mobile system. It can be played with a single finger on a single button and, when it’s cooperating, the uncomplicated play style is suited to that equally simplistic control scheme. The trajectory of the jellyfish-spore creature is locked from the start of the level and the tools used to alter its path, as well as the order they can be used, are predetermined as well. Despite a small difficulty spike at the end, even getting the optional hidden stars isn’t made to be a challenge. Everything’s so relaxed and smooth that I was inclined to play through the entire game in a single sitting. Furthermore the visual style, though not quite stunning, isn’t as cluttered as some screenshots make it look.

DUSK ‘82: ULTIMATE EDITION
Dusk ‘82 has reminded me of how awesome dungeon crawlers are, as well as the fun and sometimes tricky puzzles within them. If it’s okay to compare it to other games, I’d say there are elements/influences of Ultima, Rogue, Chip’s Challenge and even ZZT in here, intentional or otherwise. It combines a lot of what made those games fun to play and turns it up to 11.
It’s short, sweet and the world is your oyster in terms of customisation and level creation so hopefully this will be one of the most community-serviced titles on this platforms as it has the potential to be.

Another master piece of David Szymanski, DUSK 82 has to offer a great 8-bit action-puzzler that was used as the prequel of the original classic cult shooter DUSK.
Created in such a simple style, this game reached the expectations that the fans were hopping for the next title of the DUSK series.
I enjoyed the puzzles that the game delivered including the music that was adapted from the first game successfully, meaning that I didnt even felt boring while doing the run of the entire game.
In my final review I would give:
