Escape the Ayuwoki

Escape the Ayuwoki

Scary. Exhilarating. Awesome. I absolutely loved the free version of Escape the Ayuwoki and love this Steam version. I love it when the Ayuwoki smashes, eats or stomps on a rat. I love being able to use other light sources and have ways to district the Ayuwoki. I love all the lore and occult stuff in the game. I sometimes enjoy making the Ayuwoki go into rage mode just for the hell of it. I have played this game many times and beaten it, so it can be done! I like the tutorial because you get a sense of what to do, and I enjoy the Mattresswoki in the tutorial. I love Michael Jackson, and I mean no disrespect towards him when I say that I enjoy this game. I would recommend it to everyone to play it. If you enjoy a good horror game and being chased by a monster that gives you the heehee geebies, then, play this game!

Yes yes, it is made a little poorly. Though, it is a little and nice indie game.. I know people might hate this more than the original, and i agree but the AI and stuff are a bit better than the original. Some people had trouble with dying and starting all the way over but thank GOD they added checkpoints now! There’s no way to beat this game without checkpoints, unless if your a really good gamer! Chapter 3 kinda gets buggy, the AI is too hard and when i’m really quiet he hears you anyway! Though besides some glitches and AI is kinda rigged, its not that bad for a indie horror game, i have played worse! Though the price is not worth it and i think this game should be worth atleast $3-$7! Besides that it’s good! Don’t judge too much on this game since barely anybody worked on this game, that’s why it’s called a INDIE game

The good:

Great game, the visuals are beautiful and the gameplay is great!

The blend of the tension from the horror with the mistery and investigation you must do ends up being pretty great!

The sound is also great, being able to hear the monster, even on a different room or floor, really brings up the tension.

The story is very interesting too, makes you want to know what’s going to happen next and what’s happening right now. Overall the game is very good.

The bad:

But, it’s not without flaws, I did find some wierd bugs, but none game breaking so far. But it’s biggest flaw, as per my opinion, is the lack of savestates. You have 1 save file per profile and that’s it, and that save file is both the manual and auto save. That’s a really big problem, because each “level” has several ways of finishing it, and they do seem to have a different impact on the story.. and that’s where the 1 save file for manual and auto save really sucks, because, for example, if you want to experience the different solutions on Part 2 of Immure, you HAVE to play the game from the very start, from a different profile, and that, on a game now-a-days, is pretty bad.

Immure is an awesome game so far, and I really do hope it gets finished. As for right now, be aware of it’s current state and make up your own mind.

You essentially traverse an old semi-abandoned mansion consisting of hallways lined with doors. Each door leads to a “soul” that you must either save or kill. After entering a door you must solve puzzles and avoid baddies to complete that doors story and escape.

As for right now Part 1 (which is free) gives you the first door, and the Part 2 DLC gives you the second. And that’s it for now.

WAS THIS GAME EVEN PLAYTESTED ? was the feeling i had while playing it, despite the game being weird and made no sense to me, mostly because of no story, no achievments, no hints, glitchy enemies and dont even know how to describe the maps, I played for 50 minutes before the game decided to reset my progress, after I found the 3rd key, I did not feel like starting over again. Oh, and I could not find anything threats or guides about the game in english on steam

-It only lasts about 30 minutes.

-All you do is find two keys and go through two exits, then you’re back to the main menu.

-Most of the environment is wide, open terrain with nothing interesting.

-Enemies are toothless. You can run away from them with ease (there’s no stamina, so you can run indefinitely), or gun them down without trouble. They don’t shoot, they amble towards you slowly, and sometimes they get stuck on the terrain.

Cave of Illusions

Cave of Illusions

A very interesting and compelling game that drives you towards an unsettling reality hidden within a labyrinth of distorted perspectives.

I found the game to be thoroughly enjoyable; from Lesley’s compulsive need to find the truth, coupled with her resolute and almost remorseful fury, to the wickedly playful nature of the realms' puzzles and games of hide and seek, this game offers a special brand of growing dread akin to a waking nightmare.

The storyline itself calls to mind older, almost Grimm Fairy Tale style fears. The sense of Wicked fair-folk and the rising dread of what it means to be “Missing.” There is a very strong sense of dread and almost inescapability, like you’re a mouse slowly creeping down the throat of a spiraling serpent.

This is a solid indie horror game that is rough around the edges but has enough creativity, love and original ideas put into it to be a cool and memorable experience.

The game’s narrative does a very good job at framing the events in mystery and rational uncertainty, which I feel is often missing from supernatural fiction. This story is a lot about reality and perception of reality and the game doesn’t slack at tackling this thematic point. The protagonist grapples with her understanding of events, past and present and it makes it more intriguing, spooky and satisfying. There is also just enough of grounding in reality, and the emotional layers enrich the substance of the game.

CORPSE FACTORY

CORPSE FACTORY

//TOKYO, 20XX: Whispers and rumors are spreading through the streets of metropolitan Tokyo like wildfire. Murmurings of a bizarre website have started to pique the interest of more than a few people—people willing to take extreme risks in order to fulfill their darkest desires.

Corpse Girl’s Website supposedly allows users to request the death of someone they know. All that is required is a photo of the proposed victim. Once an image is uploaded, the website promises to snuff out the victim’s soul within a matter of days.

Victims of the website apparently receive a photograph of their own corpse—even before they are dead. Photos are time stamped with a date… Perhaps a predicted time of death? The website’s authenticity is questionable at best. It has become an interesting topic of conversation and nothing more.

And yet… When people start dying in odd ways across the city, the website instantly returns to the limelight.

All of the recent victims were found in possession of strange photos—photos of their own corpses, received only hours before they died…

CORPSE FACTORY is a visual novel driven by pure suspense. It’s part horror and part psychological thriller. The story is told in a linear fashion, with a few key choices to make along the way that will affect the ending of the game.

Locked Up

Locked Up

So, this was a game that I didn’t hate but I wouldn’t go so far as to say I loved the game, but I did enjoy playing it. The story itself was pretty good (given that it does play on the usual horror storylines). It was one of the games that doesn’t tell you but rather has the player rely on finding hints and notes that flesh out the story for you. And it was done well enough to understand the story. It did throw me off for a bit, since the game did jump around in points of time, which makes it a bit hard to get what’s going on in the beginning. I assume this is done intentionally. The game is a walking sim horror game, so I didn’t expect to get scared as the player can’t actually “die”. That being said, because it is only a walking sim, it relies a lot on jumpscares and tension to create the scary atmosphere. Most of the jumpscares were lacking, though some were done pretty well (not that it made them any scarier). The game is set in a very small enclosed area (a house with a handful of rooms that you can sometimes enter), so there is a LOT of walking back and forth (even intentional moments of walking back and forth just to trigger the next event).

I waited a few days after completing this game to fully absorb what I had just experienced. Also, I had ants on my keyboard. But that’s neither here nor there. :P

Locked up certainly has its flaws, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I play a lot of PT inspired games. The more I do, the more I see why it never really made it to print. :(

80% of this game is walking up and down a hallway waiting for changes to trigger. There are some puzzles which aren’t too bad. And no combat, which is fine.

The story was a little confusing for me. I understood the core of it:

! a family moves into a house and an evil spirit finds a way to manipulate them into turning on one another. I think. It was a little hard for me to follow why things were happening or how the beginning or the end were connected to the middle.
