good game, has a lot of philosophical thoughts and beliefs which may get frustrating after a while.
50 wins, 50 times getting over it, fastest time being 4 mins 26 seconds and was a great journey
9/10 game tbh

City Climber

Story

I first saw City Climber on 9gag many months ago. Upon rediscovering City Climber, I felt an overwhelming urge to play it and I’m pleased to say that I was not disappointed. Although the premise is simple, you can tell that a lot of care was put into the development of City Climber. I applaud SimpleGhost for creating such a great product despite having a small budget and working on it solo.
In City Climber, you essentially control the left and right arms of a ragdoll. With your infallible grip and gorilla-strength arms, you take on many challenges by doing what you do best – climbing. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to try the co-op mode, so this review will focus on single player.

Soviet Bear Uni Adventure
Unicycle Punishment Simulator 2019
The hardest, most frustrating game mechanics of any game I’ve played to date. Aiming weapons in Golden Eye using a N64 controller is easier than this game. This game was harder than riding a real life unicycle. However, once you finally …. FINALLY… overcome that obstacle, you feel accomplished for 30 seconds, then you’re back to feeling frustrated by the next obstacle. It was different, comical and challenging.

Goop Loop
During the frustrating first play-through of this game I was convinced that it was not a game where you would eventually be able to consistently get past obstacles but I immediately proved myself wrong in the second run. Don’t get me wrong it is still hard but it is definitely a lot more manageable. I definitely recommend it if you like foddian games and if you aren’t afraid of a challenge.

Physics platformers are notorious for being insanely hard.
This one’s no exception. But it does have some quirky/clever vocal (English only) tutorial, that only really speaks up if and when you’re having trouble. I was actually quite amused by how the game knew when to say “You should slow down”, versus pretty much pre-emptively telling me I screwed up when I passed a point of no return.
It’s like having the developer commentary from Half-Life (But more quirky/punny), the goopiness of Gish (With more freedom of movement), and the jankiness of, well, basically every physics platformer out there. My hand started hurting after about an hour, so I had to take a break, but I’ll definitely be trying to finish it after I take a break.

Fun hardcore game, nice physics and setting. My record is 34:17

I have never actually played one of these games before. I only played around 40ish minutes and didn’t get too far. It is fun and addicting but as you could have guessed it’s also pretty frustrating. I would recommend it for anyone who want’s a challenge. If you want to watch me take my first stab at it check out the link below.

Happenlance
A beautiful and addictive addition to the asldfj;oaisheouhigoiu genre. Highly recommended.

I like the game. Happenlances approach to teach things is like how it was done back in the 8bit days. Levels are designed in a way that you have to learn to do new tricks in order to continue, and you don’t get any annoying tooltips or small videos that show you what you have to do. You really have to figure things out yourself. And oh boy it gets challenging and fast.
Only thing that i would add, is somekind of collectibles in hard places. That way when you get better in the game, you would revisit some maps to get those collectibles that you couldn’t get before.

Just Ski+
I love the premises of this Unity game - you can choose in fact between better graphics or better performance, instead of the usual stupid “ultra”, “poor”, “medium” and such qualities.
This is a small physics indie game, small even because it’s short, and minimalistic for sure - the whole game has in fact just two colors.
The white of the snow will be the main color of the whole game, since you’re playing as a skier, while the rest of the minimalistic world will be colored of black, red, orange, blue and so on.

Just Ski is fun physics game but it lacks a lot of basic features that you would expect from this genre. As of right now, there is only one map that you have to beat with no save points. It probably takes around 10 minutes, not that you could do on a first try. As you can see I have been trying to beat it for over 5 hours. In other words, you will replay the first section a lot (like 50 times at least). Somehow I am not bored of it just yet. Something about the relaxing music and the atmosphere makes the deaths less stressful.

Rising Noracam
I haven’t finished this one yet, due to my lack of motivation, but its still a pretty good goi like. It’s basicly a platformer control, but with a weird momentum that you have to keep to make some jump. Jump height also matter. If you bonk you get pushed a bit around and can fall but it feel random unfortunatly
The map design doesn’t seems to be punishing, there’s different screen change and i don’t think you can fall 2 screen in a row, although i only reached the third one so maybe it’s more punishing in the future.
