Midnight Scenes: The Highway (Special Edition)
This game is rather a short game, which is fitting for the price. The games horror elements are rather mild when compared to other horror games I’ve seen which is good if this is your first time or if you’re just getting used to playing horror games.
This game is also good to play for cheap in a short amount of time.
Also, if you are not used to playing point & click games, keep in mind while playing to be very observant of clickables and drag items in your inventory over each other to combine them.

The game is put together really well when it comes to art and atmosphere, that being said, it’s $3 for a 15-minute inconclusive story, so it’s more of a donation than anything else. I had a little ‘deja vu’ playing it, the pixel art in the game is really good, and there are only so many people that are that good, turns out it’s the “artist on games like Thimbleweed Park and Photographs” - I thought the godly skills looked familiar. The ‘Special Edition’ comes with the artbook and soundtrack which is located in the game’s folder. I have to say that the ending didn’t impact me in any way, probably because the story just didn’t have enough time and build up. I wish the developer would have expanded upon the original game, maybe a few secrets or an alternate ending if the game was replayed. Obviously, the developer is very skilled in multiple ways, but as far as this little game goes, not a lot for me to evaluate beyond seeing that it had the potential to be an interesting story.

Goop Loop
During the frustrating first play-through of this game I was convinced that it was not a game where you would eventually be able to consistently get past obstacles but I immediately proved myself wrong in the second run. Don’t get me wrong it is still hard but it is definitely a lot more manageable. I definitely recommend it if you like foddian games and if you aren’t afraid of a challenge.

Physics platformers are notorious for being insanely hard.
This one’s no exception. But it does have some quirky/clever vocal (English only) tutorial, that only really speaks up if and when you’re having trouble. I was actually quite amused by how the game knew when to say “You should slow down”, versus pretty much pre-emptively telling me I screwed up when I passed a point of no return.
It’s like having the developer commentary from Half-Life (But more quirky/punny), the goopiness of Gish (With more freedom of movement), and the jankiness of, well, basically every physics platformer out there. My hand started hurting after about an hour, so I had to take a break, but I’ll definitely be trying to finish it after I take a break.

DISTRAINT 2
Proof-read the English, tested the game, and wrote a fully comprehensive guide. Safe to say - I’ve got this game down to a T! TL;DR - buy the game, play it, and enjoy! Easy 100%er and very enjoyable.
Backstory:
When I played the first DISTRAINT, I honestly wasn’t expecting much more than an easy 100% achievement game to help knock my stats up for a very low price - my expectations were instead surpassed. The storyline was a little twee and fairly predictable, but clichés and linear / predictable stuff exists for a reason: it’s what humans like. I realised the entire game had been written, composed, drawn, really just everything’d by ONE guy, and consequently rose in my estimation. I followed Jesse on social media, and idly came across a post some months later about a sequel, and his new DISCORD server. I joined the server, and started getting hyped up for the sequel. Then he picked me to proof the English :O so I really have seen this game since its infancy!

After a three year gap, Jesse Makkonen’s back with Distraint 2! If you’ve read my first review, you’d know that I was so moved by the mature, depressing c’est la vie story of an ordinary person making one bad choice after another. It wasn’t lengthy but its message was profound. The ending may have bummed out and sparked some speechless responses.. But thankfully if you’ve kept your hopes up- Distraint 2 picks up immediately from what happens to Price after that screen cut to black. How much lower can Price sink into?

Creepy Tale 2
Creepy Tale 2
Heavily inspired by European folklore and Grimm's Fairy Tales Book by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm, Creepy Tale 2 is bringing back the creepy universe from its predecessor.
Plot: Following the same footsteps, Creepy Tale 2 explores the tragic story of our young braveheart, Lars, and his family. After a peaceful day's work, Lars finds himself tired and decides to hit bed early, only to be woken up by loud noises coming from downstairs.

The first half of the game was excellent, especially the witch's house, I don't think I ever laughed so hard in my life, but the puzzles got progressively worse toward the end due to 'trial and error' and exposition dump. You can finish the story in about 3 to 5 hours, there are 2 endings and several optional achievements. Overall, I still think it's an improvement from the first game, they dropped the whole platforming gimmick in favor of a more traditional 'adventure' gameplay. Now they didn't implement the mouse interface to complement the new format, but the way you interact with some of the death-traps favors the keyboard/controller movement - so I can understand why they went into that direction. I still feel like the game had a lot of moon logic, not as bad as the first game, but there were more than a few convoluted solutions. To give the game a little credit, even though there were many good and bad puzzles, those that were good were extremely creative, with just the right amount of challenge. My main problem with puzzles is that toward the second half the levels felt very short, and it's almost like they were making content with no direction.

## The Inner Friend
Just finished playing the game, and personally I loved it. To me, it's an artpiece.
The environments and moods were interesting and well thought, the characters were really creepy by times and the sound design was…well, just amazing in itself. I don't know how many times I lowered the volume a bit to finish a section because the sounds were just way too scary, while other times it just added so much to the mood and story. I should add that it's not as scary as other games such as Outlast, which I find unbearable to play. This is something else... Beautifully creepy and just....odd.

I had this game in my wishlist for over 2 years as I could never figure out wtf it actually was. A T-rated horror game walking sim but-not-really with light puzzle elements sounds like a tough sell but I'm glad I picked this game up and discovered what it's all about. This game isn't necessarily 'horror' in the classic sense but it definitely nails a sense of dread and sometimes that can be more difficult to nail than horror itself.
I loved the SIZE of the environments in this game, even in something like the school level the hallways stretch for what seems like an infinity and all the settings are so endless that once the ending hits and everything clicks, it's a really powerful moment. The
! final boss battle resolution + the reveal of the old man was a seriously powerful combo. The secret/hidden ending seems to explain 90% of the plot in about 2 minutes, so anyone who finished the game without collecting all collectibles will want to track down the video of that to actually piece together what happened…more or less.
