Brief Karate Foolish

This is easily one of the most beautiful fighting games of all time!

Pros

  • Sexy Japanese men in underwear

  • Great story

  • All of the fighters are unique and fun to play as

  • The CPU fights well

  • Amazing graphics

  • Awesome soundtrack

  • IT’S FREE!

Cons

  • Controls are a little bit hard to learn

  • No online versus mode

Overall, Brief Karate Foolish is a really fun fighting game. The only thing that would make it better is an online versus mode. I highly recommend this game.

This game is a about a man named Jacob Ernholtz, and his last day alive. Or I suppose his last minute, since the clock is stuck at 3:22 AM the whole time, but It can’t be broken because the alarm went off… Anyway this is less of a review and more of an analysis. That being said, there will be -

SPOILERS

I’ve spent a decent amount of time combing over this game and trying to piece together the narrative. At first glance it’s clear that Jacob is obssessed over a painting of two palm trees. It’s not a very special painting in my opinion. However he has gone far enough to have an entire room dedicated to this painting and many variations, perhaps looking for some hidden meaning. But why that specific painting? Well, Jacobs username on the chatting application is “ratherBtravelin” - a bit odd considering he has boarded up his windows and (I’m assuming) he stays inside as much as possible. He’s not a complete agoraphobe, judging by his grocery list. I believe this painting has struck a chord with Jacob simply because it’s a way he can vicariously be somewhere he wants. Somewhere exotic and sunny. Perhaps with friends and family. I imagine he sees himself as happy there. Unfortunately due to his depression (which is the cause of his isolation in the first place) he develops a consuming obsession over it, instead of actually taking a trip to the bahamas.

Swallow The Blue: Remastered

Swallow The Blue: Remastered

Full Play through w/ all fedoras once it uploads here: https://youtu.be/WtRqorHYGCY

I enjoyed the game a pretty good amount the scares are decent I love how they use the mechanics to create mini games, but there are glitches which will be included in the video. The third bathroom I’m not sure if this is intentional or a glitch but it freezes the game if you stay in there too long. If you close your eyes cause tom scares you the game stays black screen. If your floating on the couch and don’t look left when the policeman gets off he blocks the door which might be intentional. The game seems to hint that there is possibly multiple endings but there’s not there’s just one. After searching for the fedoras I found the easter egg room really underwhelming as well. The game itself though was great super atmospheric and interesting.

At Home Alone

At Home Alone

Home Alone is the story of 8-year-old Kevin (Macaulay Culkin), a mischievous middle child who feels largely ignored by his large extended family. While preparing for a Christmas vacation in Paris, Kevin gets in trouble, is banished to the attic overnight, and wishes his family would just disappear. Kevin gets his wish the next morning when his family mistakenly leaves him behind. At first, Kevin is elated – but pretty soon he realizes that being home alone isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. He misses his mom (who employs any and every means of getting home to her son) and even his bully brother. With all the block’s other families on vacation, too, Kevin has no one to turn to, including the cops, who assume he’s up to his usual tricks. Meanwhile, a pair of bumbling burglars played by Joe Pesci (Goodfellas, Lethal Weapon 2-4) and Daniel Stern takes advantage of the situation by pillaging the neighborhood. It’s up to Kevin to defend his home, using every prank in his well-stocked arsenal. A bevy of violent, slapstick, wince-inducing episodes ensues, resulting in Kevin successfully foiling the bad guys' plans.

Games like this need to stop making players talk to walls to uncover some kind of secret, it’s lazy and annoying. Try making a puzzle instead which actually makes the player think and even offers some way of clever story telling if done right (

! and no, talking to a corner of the kitchen to see a “hint” of the place you need to go to input the password is not a puzzle and does not solve the main issue of forcing the player to interact with random stuff to progress the story).

That aside the plot seems interresting at first, but leaves things too broad imo.

! Maybe it’s about suicide, maybe it’s about a girl who made a deal with a demon, maybe it’s about a burglary murder. Some people may like this kind of vagueness, I prefer something more well defined. If I see something with a lot of possible meanings, each one being equally probable, I see no meaning in it at all. The fourth wall breaking of the game also seemed to hold little to no purpose (that’s probaly because the game is too vague and just tried to put a lof of different stuff together without much thought). Seeing people compare this game to DDLC honestly baffles me.

Desert Bus VR

If you are lucky, this might be the worst game you will ever play.

–-

What does that even mean? Let me explain:

There’s good games. There’s bad games. There’s interactive art pieces that use game mechanics. There’s barely interactive media that present themselves as games. There’s training simulators that are set up like games but aren’t intended to be games. There’s… how many of these would you like me to list? Want to talk about interactive movies? What about visual novels? What about… oh, was I wasting your time? Did you want me to make a point about Desert Bus? Hang on, I wasn’t done rambling…

Real player with 1337.1 hrs in game

That’s a great game.

In fact, I realized that it can substitute my sleep time.

For the last month, more or less, I spend my former sleep hours driving this bus and I felt very well the next day.

The only side effect is that sometimes when I’m walking distractedly I tend to slowly drift leftways. No big deal.

UPDATE:

So… Strange things started to happen as I slowly began to expand my daily driving time.

Now I’m nearly driving 16 hours a day and sometimes I have some really weird and vivid dreams.

The Backrooms Game FREE Edition

The Backrooms Game FREE Edition

The game has a LOT of potential. As soon as I started playing, I quickly realized the atmosphere was very strong with this one, and when I started hearing the thumping and screaming, I was panicking so hard that I took off running without even knowing what I was escaping, or if I was escaping from it at all. This is one of very few games that you notice time runs slower than you do, I constantly check the time feeling as if 5 minutes had gone by, when it had only been 50 seconds.

The first time I started going mad, it was crazy, I didn’t know what was happening. I kept in mind that i wasn’t supposed to look at whatever something was, I thought the monster was catching me, so I just looked at the floor and continued on, unaware that it was all in my head. When the lights turned off, I went still, I was expecting the something to come running at me, but no, I just nocliped out of the backrooms, all the while accompanied by peaceful, soothing music. Much recommended.

The Backrooms originally started as a creepypasta, which I really enjoyed and therefor wanted to try out this game.

You walk around in a maze of rooms with muted yellow walls, moisty tan carpet and a dirty stained ceiling with blinding lights which you hear buzzing constantly.

You feel a dark presence chasing you, you feel it getting closer, the noises get louder, your vision becomes blurry…

Keep on going is all you can do, hoping to find an exit, hoping the dark presence won’t get to you.

As you go more and more insane the walls and floor start moving while you hear distorted sounds, crying and footsteps.

Walking Simulator

Walking Simulator

This game, right here, would be the very one to change my entire life. Before i played this, i did not know how to walk. Every day of my life was a struggle for me, to the point where I could not find any reason to get out of bed, until I discovered this masterpiece. It had an amazing story line, which made me feel every single emotion known to man simultaneously. But most importantly, It taught me how to walk. The moment I pressed W on my keyboard, my life flashed before my eyes, and before I knew it, I had mastered the art of walking forward. This game has given me another reason to live, another chance at life when everything looked grim.

Animal Jam

Animal Jam

Abusive PAY TO PLAY with microtransactions.

I’ve been playing this game for years in the android version but I’m so disappointed with the new policies of this company.

There are two ways to obtain the special (actually more than half of the items) sapphire items in this game: by paying once or by getting a membership (you have to pay monthly) which gives you 5 sapphires a day.

They have been removing the access to multiple features if you don’t pay monthly, the ‘‘nonmembers’’ were fine at first because they could spend money on the items they wanted and not having to renovate the membership. But that’s over, animal jam is restricting all the new items and minigames to ‘‘membership exclusive’’.

Im sorry to say ive seen a lot of stupid hate towards this wonderful game!! This is a KIDS GAME of course you arent allowed to swear. of course there are chat restrictions. up untill a little while ago this game was only for phones as well. ITS STILL TECHNICALLY A MOBILE APP .. If you Have such problems with the chat system you should play on the computer version of animal jam. however then you will have restrictions as to what you can buy. The Computer only version needs membership for almost everything. BUT THIS VERSION does not… only sapphires. If you have such a problem with a KIDS GAME thats in EARLY ACCESS might i add! Then you are nothing more than a troll.. all those negative reviews are just putting people off.. things like " it sucks " with no explanation or things complaining about the " OWO " sign and the fact you cant talk about quackity are stupid!! might i add SPAM isnt everyones cup of tea.. RAIDS arent usually done on the previously MOBILE version of AJ and Not everyone likes a bunch of yellow penguins causing lag and game crashes.

This game saved my life.

I am 27.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand… my working hand… my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

I remember back a few years ago when I discovered a rather quirky indie game simply known as “b”. That game really changed how I think about and view a lot of things. Without trying to spoil any of the story, it taught me to be more appreciative of things in my life.

Thusly, I was extremely excited to learn about the sequel. It came to me in a time when I was hitting a sort of crossroads. I felt lost, and was really unsure of what to do with myself. I had lost my way. This game helped me out so much. It helped me remember how much I loved beeing alive.
