Kosmokrats

Kosmokrats

I have no words.

This game is truly a hidden gem. I cannot understand how this game has only around 30 reviews.

Sure the gameplay might not be that much, yet it’s still fun, but the story is just so good, I was literally excited to see how things go in diffrent paths, I got all of the 17 endings and almost all of the achievements. Nearly all details are there, even the smallest ones. There’s quite a lot of humour too.

There are so many refrences to pop culture and other games. I still cannot fathom how this game was made by ONE person, with little help from others.

This is a narrative game revolving around completing drone assemblies of spaceships made out of tetris-like pieces. The central mechanics are serviceable and make for some interesting puzzles and an alternately frustrating and satisfying experience as you try to get pieces to connect by bumping and pulling them.

Whilst that wouldn’t be enough to make a great game by itself, the narrative is the real draw here, running a pastiche of soviet-era space and sci-fi references into the exploration of various characters - and enables you to change how the story turns out as these characters vie for power and try to keep Space Force going in very trying circumstances.

So I am re-reviewing this after it has been updated. The game has immensely improved with the changes. I was actually able to complete the whole game. The clown improvement has actually made the first part a lot more scary since he can pretty much pop up anywhere. For the second part I would say the statue would be more threatening if she moved faster but she did jump scare me a few times when I would turn around not expect her to be that close to me. Also the highlighted items allowed me to find how to proceed past that section. The last section was creepy for the first few minutes but grew a bit old pretty quick. Overall I think the game was fun in this new state and worth a play through plus the developer was willing to listen to the feedback and improve the game which is a big plus. I still think $10 is a bit on the high end of a price for this though but if you want to spend that much or if it’s on sale then go for it. If you want to see my first play through before the update you can check out my video below.

This game is AMAZING! It’ll have most at the edge of their seat, heart racing and very concentrated. A must grab for any psychological horror. There is text in between levels to move the story along, but it does have a blur effect that can be a bit straining on the eyes, BUT, it can be turned off!!! NO WORRIES ON THAT!

Let’s break it down

The game follows a young boy in a coma trying to wake up while reconstructing different scenarios. I won’t spoil much, but different events and weave the narrative along nicely as things get more intense. A very well crafted narrative! I like it a lot, it’s simple and has a bit of spice in there to have an awesome story. I will say though (KINDA Spoiler I guess) the ending is JUST a little empty and I would’ve liked to see more.

This game will scare the **** out of you, but at least you will remember some really profound questions and interesting facts about memory reliability that constitutes reality vs. illusion distinction.

Nott Longa

Nott Longa

Such a unique narrative game, the closest thing I can compare it is something like ‘Doll’ by Braisque, it has that gloomy theme to it with philosophical vibes and many strange characters, but with a pretty unique story, something about the game world being a purgatory, a metaphor for being stuck in a nostalgia perhaps, unless maybe I missed the point. Sadly there seem to be a few translation issues, some intentional, some probably not, it’s hard to say because the game uses glitchy dialogue for the immersion. I was about to write a very positive review for this game, but then it softlocked near the end, and being a narrative game that nobody plays, I can’t even look it up, not to mention it leaves me without an important part to reflect on this experience (I liked the story, I still want to see the #$#$ ending though). I guess I could replay it, it’s not very long once you know all the answers to the tricky puzzles, about 2 to 3 hours with no hints, not that any were available when I needed them, but some of the puzzles were pretty creative, like you might have to do things outside of the game, cough cough. It’s one of those ‘cerebral’ games if you know what I mean, weird narrative, strange world, very atmospheric, maybe even experimental to some extent, it has a certain level of escapism which I really enjoy.

Absolute solid game for the bit i’ve played so far.

I’m going to continue to play more of it and keep updated.

I love the atmosphere and just everything about it.

It’s very unsettling. You go around doing quests for the people for those who have been sucked into the video game, which now is forever their norm day by day home since they can no longer escape from it, and eventually then turn to ghosts.

I can’t stress enough how wonderful this game is.

It’s like nothing i’ve played before.

Psychedelic and philosophical.

The Silent Age

The Silent Age

“The Silent Age” is a simple point & click adventure game. You are Joseph (called “Joe”), a janitor in a big research company. You will get to see more and more strange traces of yet unknown events in your everyday job until you meet the mortally wounded inventor of a - time machine! As the last and only trustful person ending up in his life you are given the task to prevent a catastrophy - and travel back and forth in time.

Yeah, sounds a bit like “Day of the Tentacle”, doesn’t it? But thankfully it doesn’t feel like a pure clone of this adventure classic.

There are theories that suggest that time travel is indeed possible. They are only theories and there are still many open questions regarding what exactly would happen if certain time travel scenarios were realized such as the grandfather paradox. It is precisely those mysteries and unknowns that make time travel so fascinating. It’s great to know the answers, but it also makes things less exciting. That’s just human nature. And that’s why the premise of The Silent Age is so interesting, especially since it explores time travel both in its narrative and gameplay.

Absolutely amazing game! I loved every second of it. The game play is smooth and fun, and the characters as well as the story are very beautifully written. I highly recommend giving this game a try!

Finishing Fleshport took me about 9 hours, but I’m very slow and check every detail twice. This game had me hooked from beginning to end. Even with the small RPG Maker window size, I had the feeling that I was traversing through some supernatural landscape with its own people and customs. The characters are both unsettling and charming.

The design in some parts of the game are confusing, with doors that are hard to notice and details that are easy to miss. There was one puzzle in particular I could only figure out after interacting with every object and smooshing my face against every wall. There are also some bugs, especially with the chase mechanics, but nothing game-breaking. I fully recommend this weird, weird game.

Amazing game, makes me laugh every time I open it up. There is one problem, and it is that the game is only like 20-40 minutes of gameplay, on all of the eps for all options. Still a good game though. I would expect it to be at least $2 each

A short but sweet visual novel. Has a surprising amount of historical accuracy for a moe-styled retelling of the Nazis' propaganda efforts. I’d recommend not posting anything about it on YouTube if you value your channel (I’ve learned this the hard way).

You can reach an ending in about an hour if you don’t rush it and listen to the dialog.

Translations are very well done and everything is perfectly understandable.

One playthrough has me wanting to buy the sequels, if you’re interested then pick it up!
