Polynomial 2 - Universe of the Music
Well that sure is a game that’s gonna scratch an itch long forgotten about by the industry at large.
Well has the industry ever considered this type of game with a great deal of respect to begin with ? That’s a question for another day.
Polynomail 2 might be only at the start of its existence and its adventure, but straight from the start we can see ourselves linking it to a long legacy of games made to get you “into the zone” .
If just like me you’ve cherished games such as Jeff Minter’s Tempest 2000 , Space Girafe, Gridrunner Revolution, or hell Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s Rez or Child of Eden or outside of the shooting game genre his feverfull Lumines series , The two Playstation 1 game oddities that were Internal Section and Vib Ribbon (a game that is still better experienced on its original hardware by the way) . Then if I tell you that Polynomial 2 is apparently setting itself for the very same kind of experience then you know what I am talking about.

Released six years after the original game I was pretty excited to see how Polynomial 2 had changed from the original.
The first game, The Polynomial, I initially found quite confusing and unintuitive, but after a little while of trying to get used to it I found that there was some fun to be had. There was a lot of personalization when it came to what arenas you could play in (and therefore what aesthetic you had), what animator type you used (which could change the tone a fair bit) and what sound visualizer settings you had. It wasn’t something I was particularly drawn in by, and didn’t put much time into but it was a unique game, which was nice to look at and something fairly chill to play.

Beat Biome
Play music through your headset and Beat Biome will automatically pick it up, reacting to the beats and wavelengths!
This is a pretty small trip, but fun none the less. Enjoy several psychedelic environments, even create your own! Just play some music and chill out, maybe lie down or bust a move. It’s up to you how to enjoy this, just keep an open mind and two open ears.
If this blows up I’ll make some more content, but in the meantime leave your comments in a review or email me directly with any bugs/feedback/etc you have. I’m a single developer and just made this for fun, so please be understanding if I can’t get to everything. Thanks, and enjoy!

Galaxy Ball
Settings: 3/10
·Below the sound sliders there’s a mysterious slider. It changes the weight of the ball. Turning it all the way down makes the game unplayable, turning it up makes the game easier.
-There is no option to change the resolution.
Interface: 4/10
-Many things, including the main menu, are not labeled in any way and at first it’s hard to tell what is what.
Gameplay: 3/10
+It controls fine (you can change how fine with the setting).

Star Shaman

Awesome game. Not an expert but I would say the people behind it had a real creative vision. A lot of VR games are just tech marvels without any substance. On this one there is a story (light but still there), beautiful soundtrack, really nice graphics, etc. I can’t wait to see where the updates are going to bring. One major plus : For any kind of audience, male and females, kids, etc.

Altered Destiny
(Foreword: You may ignore my playtime; I played the crap out of this upon original release. Now I’m just having a bit of fun running around the world.)
Altered Destiny is an adventure game where the player controls the character with the arrow keys and types commands with the keyboard.
There are two specific issues I want to address with this review, which could affect your decision to purchase Altered Destiny:
1. This is the inferior MS-DOS version, and not the Amiga version, which has significantly better graphics. I realise there used to be some commercial rights issues with running Amiga games via emulators. However, Amiga Forever provides a solution for selling Amiga games on PC running through emulators. Publishers like this one should look into it.

Epitasis
At this point I cannot recommend this game.. It’s beautiful but very strangely organized. There are also a number of technical problems, which you might or might not encounter. They have brought me to a point where the game is essentially unplayable. Your experience might be different.
Totally mind boggling what many reviewers have said about playing the game in two to four or more hours. I have explored and struggled and experienced many, many unnecessary crashes at the middle stage of the game. Lately whenever I click on a glowing object, the cursor gets stuck. There seem to be two different pointers, one belonging to the mouse, one thrown out by the game. Often in trying to disengage from the stuck point, the game becomes unplayable. Swings from high to low screen resolution and often crashes (“minimizes”) down to the taskbar icon. Generally the position is “saved,” but what saved means is open to debate.

Summary: Loved the aesthetics, music, and gameplay, puzzles were trivially easy, don’t get it if you want any challenge.
This is Talos Principle for kiddos. It uses a similar world system as Talos, where you can explore a beautiful world and 2-3 puzzles are contained within each world. Sometimes the puzzles overlap which is cool. The way the game uses colors is really fascinating and advanced, so if you’re after effects and aesthetics, you’ll love the hell out of that aspect of this game. There’s also dynamic weather! This works for the beauty of the game but can make navigating a bit confusing because levels at certain times of day do not look anything like they do at other times of the day. Loved the color and the natural design, simplistic but pretty. The soundtrack is amazing as well, it really added to the whole experience and is one of the better ambient game soundtracks I’ve heard.

This is not a dream, Samorost 1 remastered, in a really masterful way! One precious little gem saved from the doom of Flash, with beautifully refreshed graphics, improved animation and crispy sound, and all come for free! Hats off for Amanita Studio for saving Samorost 1, a game that has a special place in my heart.
Some elements I really love about Samorost 1:
- The microscopic scenery, which reminds you of a summer day trip to the forest after a rain. I think the later games never had this charm totally the same.

Space Slurpies
Space Slurpies is pretty much the classic mobile game Snake in Vr.
We play with a single motion controller moving our snake around that is attached to the end of it, trying to make him eat and grow until we can’t move any more. While it is very low-poly the graphics do what they need to do with the gameplay being the core of the game here.
Sadly, the game gets boring the more you are playing it. All levels are the same, only the background and the color keeps changing. But since the price is ok and a multiplayer is available, it fits…It is very suitable for parent-child games, and it is very childlike.

I am new to VR and this is one of my first games. Super easy to get started. The colors and textures were amazing. The game was challenging and had enough competitive elements to keep me super engaged. I had seen reviews and podcasts claiming how calming and chill the experience is. I was not let down, a great game to play during some down time. On the podcast interview the developers seem really cool. They did a great job with this game. The interaction was super smooth. The maps are extensive. I will be back in soon to check out the ones I didn’t get to. I could just keep hanging out with the slurps, but had to go to work. You won’t be disappointed. Even the soundtrack was enjoyable and fresh.

Squingle
Full disclosure: I received a free copy of this game because I was a play-tester and offered feedback during its development.
Squingle is a VR game about creating the fabric of existence by navigating rotating orbs within the twists and turns of celestial intestines. Confused yet? If so, you get it.
At it’s core, Squingle follows a basic concept: You must use skill, patience and timing to navigate a pair of rotating orbs towards a goal through increasingly complex stages without touching the edges, while also attempting to collect optional bonus items along the way. More mechanics are introduced throughout the game, which I’ll not spoil here, as they make for some great “Ah ha!” moments.

Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/1KINGuB1wCY
This is a trippy, psychedelic puzzle game involving revolving orbs that you have to guide through a liquid crystal maze. It starts out simple at first, but these mazes will present some interesting spatial mental ability challenges. At times I thought it was impossible to guide the spinning orb through some tight spaces, but with some perseverance I was able to complete the challenge.
