Cartomante – Fortune Teller

Cartomante – Fortune Teller

A short but fun game set in a fantasy/modern setting where you play a witch who earns her living telling peoples fortunes.

The game has a beautiful art style and does a great job at world building. It has interactive dialog that succeeds at being mysterious, intriguing and often times funny. The game is short but very replayable with various different readings you can get for each person that results in different and often unique outcomes, you can play the same day over and over with different results each time.

This is a really good game. Short, but incredibly charming, an absolute steal for the price.

The dialogue is extremely well written, and it manages to be funny and thought provoking. If you’re like me, you’ll keep replaying it (and reliving the same day a la “Groundhog Day”) until you get the best (or worst) possible ending for all your clients.

Definitely do not sleep on this one!

AMID EVIL

AMID EVIL

AMID EVIL at its core is a wonderfully rendered retro throwback FPS that beckons the nostalgic memories of games such as Heretic and Hexen and Quake with gorgeous environments, beautiful weapon feel and a majestic combat encounters.

However, I come to you today not focused on the weapons, the enemies or the aesthetics, but rather something truly gorgeous: the Difficulty Selection level.

Most games dare not be so bold with something so seemingly obtuse as a Difficulty Selection level where it is not as simple as clicking a rather comedic naming on a menu. AMID EVIL, in this regard, dares to be different. There have been other reviews left for this game with scathing remarks as to the “poor design” of the Difficulty Selection. I disagree wholeheartedly. For you see, the Difficulty Selection tutorializes the player of the movement mechanics and the weight of the Champion in such an elegant and silent way that most take for granted. To go for the Easy difficulty, it is straightforward and one could get by the challenge by only holding the “W” key on the Keyboard. This is Leon Zawada and Simon Rance’s brilliance coming into full display here. By having the Easy difficulty being so easy to access, it makes clear of the very nature of the room so as to not to cause further confusion with regards to the other options.

Amid Evil is strange, half of the game is some of the best level design, music, atmosphere, and art direction Ive seen in a game. The other half is a boring bland repetitive slog. Its a coin flip for which episode is which, but imo the best Amid Evil gets is worth the worst it can be.

Awesome game. Not an expert but I would say the people behind it had a real creative vision. A lot of VR games are just tech marvels without any substance. On this one there is a story (light but still there), beautiful soundtrack, really nice graphics, etc. I can’t wait to see where the updates are going to bring. One major plus : For any kind of audience, male and females, kids, etc.

As someone who’s done a fair bit of work with tarot in real life, I can see that the creators have a good grasp of the right sorts of prompts and questions to work with in divination. The environments and visual design are very nicely done too, and it’s clear that a lot of care went into them. They do an excellent job of building atmosphere and putting one in the right headspace. Overall, a very interesting experience, and well worth your time.

An interesting idea overall. Answering the question, walking around the map is pretty much everything, but that uncomfortably feeling that you are constantly being watched while answering what you see in this dark and strange imagery really has a great take on immersing player into this horror experience. Take a look at this title as an artistic horror experience, not a game. It’s short, and I’m definitely getting back to this title again in the future. In my opinion, a quite nice title to have in your collection, as an artistic psychological piece.

Don’t let the initial presentation fool you - this is an incredibly creative 2D platformer with unique visuals and an outstanding soundtrack. My first playthrough, I constantly found myself saying “the next level couldn’t get any weirder than this” only for the game to do just that.

The only caveat is that some levels are a bit obtuse and frustrating to figure out without a guide - but that’s something you can find easily enough.

Ticket is the product that challenges your preconceived notions of what games are about. It is certain that the so-called seriously taken game reviewers would not be able to give acclaim to this game, as it does not follow the conventional rules of high quality game design. This tells about the sad state of gaming industry rather than about Ticket though. If you are the person who thinks that good games follow strict rulesets of certain design-economic and mathematically measured criteria and are usually some sports titles followed by a running year number or the latest installment of a well-established series, then Ticket might not be for you.

Atmospheric horror in psychedelic entourage. The game bribes with a breathtaking gameplay with a good study with a small required disk space for installation.

In something even crazy because of its features. The chief hero will be fighting with monsters in his own dream and only to wake up.

There are also Easter eggs and references to other games.

In general, a fit game, but it is suitable for those who love something psychedelic.

Simple and therefore great horror. The author surprises us with a whole story, which, is revealed in a small apartment. A plus for me is also the presence of in-game achievements.
