Markov Alg

Markov Alg

Very cool puzzler and an amazing value. As previous reviewers said, it is somewhat reminiscent of Rogue Bit, but I found the format of individual self-contained puzzles, to be much more enjoyable. It is a game that requires logic and planning.

The puzzles start off easy taking less than a minute to solve, to some very interesting head-scratchers that take maybe 30 minutes. So it’s nice when you don’t have a lot of time for a long gaming session; you can get into the game complete a few levels (or in case of the later levels, just one), then quit with a sense of accomplishment and also not having to remember too much from one gaming session to the next.

Very fun game! Some levels are absolute stumpers until you realize that one specific little thing…

I loved the game!

It has challenging, fun puzzles and beautiful art.

I found the idea of giving commands to the robot to perform the tasks very cool and requires attention to not end the battery of the robot.

The voxel art plus the puzzle mechanic is amazing! I also like the possibility to change the camera perspective! Remembers a lot the curiosity robot! Great game for tech-lovers like me lol. You Know what? Recommended!

Super Dango

Super Dango

Similar to Baba is you, but most the puzzles are not as tight and clever and many of the are based around a large number of rules instead of just getting you to think outside the box about a small number of rules. Many of the levels feel like more traditional puzzle game levels and have a large number of fixed rules and only a had full of accessible rules that you can interact with to get through some set of obstacles. But the game still has fun puzzles, even if they don’t feel as clever as Baba is you’s, and it has a easy to use level creator to play around with making your own levels. Also the simple automations and interactions create some different puzzles and have some good potential for creating more interesting puzzles.

What a good game. I liked the AudioDesign.

It was difficult for me at first, but I ended up getting the hang of it at the end

Pretty easy, only got stuck on level 23. Dig the concept, hard to say whether this will improve my chess game until I play.

Chess Brain

This game has interested chess related puzzles. To see everything moving and trying to figure out next move is challenging. Sometimes it melts your brain making calculations for every move, and because of that, I love this game.

I really wanted to see a sequel for this game. :)

Short chess puzzle game about finding the right path through a board without encountering an enemy piece. Good. Level reset and you can redraw your path as many times as you need to.

Got this game the first week it was out, and I’m really enjoying it so far!

If I had to describe it succinctly, I would say “challenging and relaxing at the same time”, which is difficult to pull off!

The music combined with the surreal visuals give it a serene and engrossing quality, yet the puzzles are very challenging so it feels really satisfying to solve them! This game is good for being able to just block out the outside world and get lost in this colony of living cells and solving the puzzles to set everything right!

disclosure: i did some pre-release playtesting on this game, and i know the developers personally

i should note that i haven’t finished this game at time of review (there’s lots more here than what i’ve played), but i want to call some attention to this game as it could really use more eyes

as the description states, the game is inspired by Conway’s Game of Life, something i wasn’t familiar with before being introduced to this game, and introducing a player piece to that system produces a lot of curious results. solving puzzles inside of these rules creates a kind of science, where the player learns to use specific techniques for movement, destruction, and creation to solve the problem. it feels like trying to control chaos, and even the smallest mistake can often result in your attempt literally blowing up in front of you

Baba Is You

Baba Is You

A simple concept taken to creative extremes. Just when you think you’ve figured out all the tricks, a hard level comes along and forces you to rethink your understanding of the mechanics. Absolutely worth full price.

This was already one of my all-time favorite games, but I feel compelled to write some complementary words since the release of this MASSIVE free update! It’s such a fantastic thing to have this much new content added for free. The new levels are great and the editor is extremely powerful, though I’ve barely scratched the surface with it. The quality and quantity of the base game was already incredible for such a low price, and now it’s even better.

This is a very good puzzle game with 1 major flaw and that is a rewind button.

There is nothing wrong with the puzzle design , the game is divided in 5 chapters and in each you are introduced slowly to new mechanics. Nothing ground breaking but very good puzzles at times very hard, you have 4 chapters for casual puzzle fans and chapter 5 for hardcore fans. I finished chapter 5 but all I can say is - Good luck solving the last level - and here is where we come to 1 major flaw this game has and that is a rewind button. To be honest I think for many players this will be an instant turnoff because this game is not easy and many levels involve trial and error so it can get very frustrating to solve harder levels. I can guarantee I would have 8 hrs less if they implemented a rewind function.

Magnific puzzle game if you like challenges. The difficulty goes in crescendo from the beginning so you can easily know where are your limits (in fact, the achievements completion ratio shows this). The puzzles are not based on ability, proper timing or some kind of handicap. The rules are clear and with those rules you must find the solution.

There’s no undo button, which sometimes might be frustrating, so you will need a plan before trying to solve each level.
