CodeSpells

CodeSpells

I have been in the game since a relatively early alpha and honestly there is no other game quite like it. If you like the ability to truly build things, from the ground up, there is no more impressive game out there.

Now I have to warn you, this is early access:

1. Not all of the abilities that will be in the game are there yet.

2. Multiplayer is not yet there, but is on the way, and oh man am I excited.

3. The developers are working really hard on this and are some of the most communicative developers I have encountered. Just check out the forums. A_lomo is the guy coding all of it and has a significant chunk of the posts there.

CodeSpells is an interesting and unique game. The power to devise your own magic, limited only by the physical rules of the universe and your own imagination, is a truly unique experience. The art style and music are very charming and draw you into the world from the start.

The first time you wander around and use a simple push spell to launch a little red dinosaur into the sky, you will feel a sense of awe of the possibilities. Then you get a spark of an idea and bring up the spell menu. At first, you may be a little daunted by the Block-based language used to construct the spells. But after some guess and test and a little bit of practice, you will soon be creating all kinds of magic! From jumping on a rock and causing it to float and lift you off the ground, to building structures and terraforming the world around you, to changing the ebb and flow of water around you, to manipulating the elements around to ignite massive fires.

Factory Rally Madness

Factory Rally Madness

You are a robot and there is a factory… a dangerous one, and there are other robots… and everyone is running to be the first… and your program… it is messy and crazy, let´s try again…

As one of the robots in a factory full of dangers and excitement, compete with everyone to be the best running robot. To make things more interesting, all robots must program their movements while running based on program line instructions cards available at random on their own programming stack.

Can you win all the races? Don´t forget to choose your robot model to stand out in the crowd, and also to know which robot is yours. Program, race, win… or be destroyed!

#### CHOOSE YOUR ROBOT! Choose from twenty different robot models. Complete tasks in the game to unlock the deactivated robots and have all of them at your disposal in this insane factory race. A single player experience but with all the excitement and feel of a multiplayer game!

#### SELECT THE CHALLENGE! Put your robot to compete in a quick race against other robots or test your skills in a multi-track tournament in different areas of the factory: Foundry, Fabrication and Assembly. Several obstacles are between your robot and the objective points that form the race´s track. All tracks, their obstacles and objectives are procedurally generated. No track is ever the same!

#### RUN! Run through the factory in two game modes. In programmed game mode your robot has an instruction compiler and executes the movements in sequence. Plan your movements using the available instructions, creating a movement programming sequence. Real time mode allows you to choose the instruction you want your robot to execute right away, but stay tuned as instructions have a cooldown time before they can be used again. Both modes can be played at normal, fast and super-fast speeds.

#### GOAL AND SECRETS! Use the items distributed in the track to assist you during races. Consult your statistics containing information about your performance. Discover the secrets contained in the game. Can you figure them all out?

#### WHERE IS MY MULTIPLAYER? This game was designed to be a single player experience, like the old fun racing games, with some puzzle twists on it. If the game performers well in sales, we will see a multiplayer version of it with tournaments, custom skins and unique rewards for the best players.

Nurose

Nurose is online dueling game where you fight others with custom spells. It has a custom spell building system that allows players create unique attacks. The game has a high focus on gameplay customizability and has a high skill ceiling.

Custom Spells

Central to Nurose is the unique spell building system. Spells are built by visually programming glyphs in a staff. There are 30+ glyphs ranging from simple movement glyphs to complex conditional glyphs. You don’t need to level up to earn new glyphs or staffs. Each glyph is available from the start so everyone is on a even playing field.

The possibilities of this are endless. Some spells that you could make include:

  • Mines that explodes when the enemy is near.

  • A shield made up of projectiles in a semi circle.

  • Anti-missile attack that will look for enemy projectiles and destroy them.

  • Spell that makes decoy clones and moves them in specific directions.

What sets the great players apart are their skill in spell building and mastering their builds. When you have made a build, enter online matchmaking and fight others with your spells.

Online matchmaking

In online matchmaking you will fight others in a 1v1 best of 5 game. Each player has several staffs available. The game is made in a custom engine with rollback netcode for optimal online experience.

Well I had high hopes for this game considering its $25 but I was disappointed with the outcome. The game has some major game breaking bugs that make it impossible to continue forward. I have had to completely restart the story about 6 times due to these bugs and not being able to continue forward.

The Bugs I’ve found:

-Shop takes the currency but doesn’t give the items

-Many ways to glitch out of the map

-Chests don’t give items

-Player doesn’t heal

I tried a lot to like this game but I’m sad to say that it just isn’t worth. If it was $5 then I would give it some slack but since they are selling for $25 its just not worth. The card game is fun but you have to play through the story in order to experience it which with the bugs makes it impossible to play. No word from the development team in over a year and I can’t really expect much from them. Spend your money on something better, Zach I hope that you refine some of these things and lower the buy price to $5 until the game is complete.

My first game played was Supaplex and I thought I’ll never ever play a clone of it with the same pleasure. But this is indeed very nice and it has unique complex levels.

Pro’s

  • I do like that I got to learn logic operators

  • I totally love the fox, super cute to look at

  • I enjoy the music

Con’s

  • More levels - like a free DLC would be nice

  • Preferable an editor - so I can make my own crazy levels

Keep it up!

Very cool game, I like how you start to get your BOTs to help you and they both have different programmable functions. Also I found the ability to save the functions very useful so that you can just select them when you need them.

All the visuals are very nice, very pretty. And the father-daughter interaction is comical.

Overall I think this is a great game and I hope the full version becomes available soon!
