SCP: Nine-Tailed Fox

SCP: Nine-Tailed Fox

Experience the horrors of being the one supposed to be in control amidst seemingly unsalvagable chaos.

You are a leader of Foxtrot Unit 1 “Nine-Tailed Fox”, a highly trained force tasked with re-containing a multitude of terrifying anomalous monsters that have broken loose inside of a top-secret research facility.

SCP: Nine-Tailed Fox is a free survival horror game, based on SCP - Containment Breach. The events of the game take place in a containment site of The SCP Foundation, a secret organization dedicated to containing and researching anomalous artifacts and entities referred to as SCPs that threaten the normalcy of the world. Whenever things go wrong a highly specialized Mobile Task Force is always at the ready to quickly and effortlessly restore order, but what if the scale of chaos exceeds anything ever seen before?

  • Who am I? You’re thrown into the boots of a Mobile Task Force commander. Equipped with military grade weaponry and specialized technology you and your squad must fight their way through what appears to be the worst containment breach to date.

  • Re-contain the SCPs: There are numerous sentient and more often than not violent anomalies that have escaped their containment. You must contain them, but beware, you should also value their integrity, as they are very valuable to the Foundation and science as a whole! You should only fall back to force if absolutely necessary.

  • Terminate the escapees: D-Class subjects are disposable personnel that strictly consists of death row inmates. Given the situation they can be expected to be potentially armed and violent. Considering their potential possession of Foundation intelligence, the hassle associated with dealing with them in any other way and their general worthlessness, they are supposed to be terminated on sight.

Alternatively..

  • Team Deathmatch (MTF vs CI): The Chaos Insurgency is a group that used to belong to the Foundation but went A.W.O.L. not long after their creation. They also have a peculiar interest in anomalous objects and is looking towards taking advantage of the.. unfavorable situation one of the Foundation’s biggest sites is currently facing. Might they even have something to do with all of this?..

Either fight for them or defend the facility against them!

  • Waves (PvE Mode): A rare, aggressive strain of SCP-008 has infected a large sector of the facility! Grab a team of friends (or strangers) and fend off against waves of them together with a number of other anomalies that has gotten loose!

Maybe with a helmet VR the game looks much better, but also in “normal mode” with keyboard and monitor is also good.

The opportunity to play for a robot of strange design, which simply needs to get to the top of each puzzle

The robot itself is able to jump and plan high, and also to travel along vertical surfaces.

If you’re a fan of Kreedz Climbing and/or Quake Defragging, you won’t be making a mistake in trying this one out.

It would be really cool though, if the inputs would be a bit more responsive. Feels too much like the player is swimming.

Himno

Himno

Another free game I enjoyed so much that I purchased the paid component.

Gameplay is pretty standard platformer fare. Wall jumps, air dashes, ledge hangs. Himno is billed as a relaxing platformer, but there were moments where I uttered the most profane of oaths. The controls take a little getting used to, and even after having spent a few hours playing, I was still plummeting to my watery grave. For the most part it is a fun and peaceful distraction.

No enemies, but the developer is working on a sequel that promises combat, loot drops, crafting and general roguelite attributes. I have wishlisted and followed.

Himno is a well-designed, free-to-play, casual platformer without combat that has an internal level generation system that gives the player an infinite number of levels. There’s not too much in the way of objectives when it comes to this game, as all you do is jump and dash, wall-grab, slide, and jump dash some more. You can look at the 11 very doable Steam achievements as your goal. (Took me about 2.5 hours to do everything necessary to get them.)

Core Defense: Prelude

Core Defense: Prelude

Super boring grinding. Towers seem unbalanced. There’s only one stage. There aren’t much tactics you can employ, because of small stage, and very few rounds you get to play in this demo. Maybe it would start to get fun when a chance of losing would be introduced. Being able to completely overhaul your defenses between each round is interesting, but since the enemies are random and come from a random direction, you can’t optimize for the next round in a meaningful way.

Downloaded the demo, played it for 2 hours, just trying all different strategies beating the demo (20 waves) multiple times all while still unlocking additional towers and abilities. I finally did beat it with a passive bonus on every wave and then I also beat it with one tower only (three different towers).

After I finished with that, I headed straight over to the store page to click buy… sadly I realized it’s not even released yet. Needless to say, I’ll be buying the full version when it’s released.

ENDLESS BECOMING - APARTMENT

ENDLESS BECOMING - APARTMENT

This is less of a game and more of a ground to find feelings. Personally I’ve experienced multiple emotions from this game, everything ranging from sadness, longing, nostalgia, unease, and dread. I love games like this, games that play off of Liminal Spaces and forgotten memories; feelings that can only be described during a state of loneliness so absolute, that you get this feeling as if the ground underneath you could split open and swallow you at any moment and no one would ever know.

While i don’t recommend this game to everyone I found it as a relaxing and Beautiful reflection of feeling.

Played on HP Reverb G2

Although WMR isn’t officially supported, I was feeling too lazy to hook up another headset, so I gave it a try. The Oculus control scheme matched the Reverb G2 perfectly. The application is exactly what it says- a virtual art installation and a walking simulator. The environment was interesting, artistic, and well designed. A lot of the elements were repetitive, but there was enough variation to keep my interest. It also had plenty of in-game menu options to tweak controls, audio, video, etc. If you enjoy casual VR experiences, this is worth the download.

Combots

Combots

This is a very fun game with an active developer. I like the low poly artstyle, the UI is fully fleshed out, gamemodes are intuitive and the map geometry and loadout combinations create a lot of depth. It’s entirely possible to play as the tank class and use teleportation to get high up on top of buildings, looking over the whole map and taking potshots at people.

The biggest problems right now is the small playerbase…playing with AI isn’t very fun. But that’s easy to change, we just need more players.

Kinda cute, Obviously an early attempt at making games for an aspiring developer. Ultimately it is a mobile port - it’s fun to play but don’t expect it to be anything more than it is.

Mazing

Well… Can’t tell

There’s no reason to like the game but also no reason to hate the game.

It’s pretty simple and feels more like a mobile game.

Pretty bland

Only Bug I noticed is that you can’t overwrite your leaderboards record.

The only good thing is you can easily get achievements
