Neither Day nor Night

Neither Day nor Night

The Game is amazing, if you like 2D Platform you can’t not give it a try! Extreme challenging, some area is crazy and the difficult scale when you go on through the game.

You will die many times for sure, and you have to improve for reach the next checkpoint! (there are many for our luck!)

Some part can be a bit “stressfull” to find the exact timing or doing the best jump for reach a platform, but this is the challenge , you have to improve and use your mind for find the solution, and it’s extremely satisfying.

Neither Day nor Night.

Well, let me clear the air with I am Not a platform gamer, however! With that out of the way I must state this was truly a little gem.

For normally not having a love for platform games, I find myself smittened with this game.

The art and animations of your deaths I found to be honestly pretty detailed that they were addictive almost to watch.

The game has 0 issues telling you to ‘Git Gud’ and all the issues I did have were user input (Cause I suck) but it didn’t make me want to give up.

Super Meat Boy Forever

Super Meat Boy Forever

The challenge of Super Meat Boy returns in Super Meat Boy Forever! This time around Meat Boy is always running, like literally…it’s an auto-runner. He can’t stop and he won’t stop. Levels are brutal, death is inevitable, and players will get that sweet feeling of accomplishment after beating a level. Players will run, jump, punch and kick their way through familiar settings and totally new worlds.

What’s better than playing through Super Meat Boy Forever once? The answer is simple: Playing through Super Meat Boy Forever several times and having new levels to play each time. We created over 6000 level chunks and smash them together to create new unique levels and each time the game is completed the option to replay the game appears and generates a whole new experience by presenting different levels with their own unique secret locations. We’ve handcrafted literally thousands of levels for players to enjoy and conquer. You can replay Super Meat Boy Forever from start to finish several times before ever seeing a duplicate level. It is truly a remarkable feat of engineering and a monumental example of ignoring the limits of rational game design and production.

Super Meat Boy Forever takes place a few years after the events of Super Meat Boy. Meat Boy and Bandage Girl have been living a happy life free of Dr. Fetus for several years and they now have a wonderful little baby named Nugget. Nugget is joy personified and she is everything to Meat Boy and Bandage Girl. One day while our heroes were on a picnic, Dr. Fetus snuck up on them, beat Meat Boy and Bandage Girl unconscious with a shovel and kidnapped Nugget! When our heroes came to and found that Nugget was missing, they knew who to go after. They cracked their knuckles and decided to never stop until they got Nugget back and taught Dr. Fetus a very important lesson. A lesson that can only be taught with punches and kicks.

Escape from the Office

cool time killer, challenging levels with complex controls that you need to get used to over time

Pretty good time killer, like The Boshy. Interesting levels, simple drawing. The only drawback is an inflated price tag, so it’s better to take it at a discount.

Iblis

Iblis

The great ruler of the underworld rose to the surface in order to destroy the last stronghold of humanity and the light forces. A storm of war is brewing between the forces of darkness and light, and you will side with the devil in this war. Show all your majestic power and frighten your enemies with your infernal flames.

Iblis-Top Down Shooter with 2D graphics, where the player acts as the devil and destroys the forces of light, you control various variations of the devil’s weapons and can use the hell mode, a skill that will slow down your enemies plunging them into hellish horror.

Panic Attack

Panic Attack

Lucky me gets to write the first review for Panic Attack, which is a simple 2D retro pixel shooter/brawler. Control a lulzy retro pixel astronaut and shoot aliens on different platforms, try not to get shot, and avoid the inexplicable crosshairs that floats towards and kills you if you stay in it.

The game is garbage and also buggy, I was unable to exit the first level despite killing the baddies. A little bit of testing goes a long way. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel “art” as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It’s unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.

Disc Room

Disc Room

[Edited on full completion of the base game]

At the time of writing I’ve fully completed Disc Room, racking up 10685 deaths that should have been closer to 7000. I think any let’s play of the first twenty minutes or so will tell you whether this game is for you better than any review can.

First off: yes, this is a toughie! Disc Room has you evading unstoppable bouncing buzzsaws until they inevitably dismember you. It’s just like being trapped in the screensaver of Meat Boy’s DVD player. With no way to fight back, survival is the objective. Each chamber has its own leaderboard so you can see how long you fared compared to your peers and the dev team; levels fill with discs so quickly and completely that I suspect there is no room to improve on the top times by now. (If you prefer a lower skill floor, or have motor difficulties, don’t stop reading yet!)

This is one of those nearly flawless games that you can hone your skills at. The closest comparison I can make is Super Meat Boy or another challenging platformer. The satisfaction in playing this game comes primarily from becoming better as a player. A few of the levels are more puzzle-like, providing a breather from the intense action.

Disc Room is a variation on the bullet hell genre. However, because you are dodging large gears instead of point-like bullets, it becomes an entirely different beast. It has a fresh feel. Gameplay is snappy and tight. (There were a few kinks but the developers ironed these out in the first few patches.) For context, the game expects 10 seconds of survival in a room to establish competency and 20 seconds for mastery. So yes, it’s a very hard game, and you will get very good at it.

No More Rainbows

No More Rainbows

No More Rainbows is a first person VR platformer with unique locomotion that really focuses on the core before anything else. We thought there was something missing in the VR space when it comes to platformers, there’s amazing titles out there, but we wanted that classic Super Mario, Super Meat Boy, or Rayman feel. We decided to make it instead.

No More Rainbows uses the user’s hands and arms as the main locomotion, and you use this mechanic to walk, run, jump and climb basically anywhere you want through different worlds to explore and dozens of levels to play through.

You are The Beast. Since time immemorial you have served as Warden of the Underworld, passing the eternities in a peaceful slumber.

You are suddenly awoken by the sound of horribly joyful melodies piercing the warm darkness. The ashen air now reeks of tulip perfume. The once burning magma floor tiles now feel lush and fresh under your claws. The shrines to the Ancient Ones have been desecrated with childish chalk drawings festooned with nauseating smiley faces.

Behind this commotion are beings of infinite joy and happiness. Mister Bizoux and his merry band of Huggletz are on a quest to take over your sanctuary of screams and turn it into a bountiful paradise where cries of pain and torment are replaced by kisses and rainbows…what a nightmare!

Using an arm based locomotion method, you must spring forth into this fantastical virtual reality platforming world and reclaim your home!

You’ll be able to smash through 3 different worlds, such as the Happy Lands and Calori-fornia. If you ever had a dream where Super Meat Boy had a child with Super Mario Bros. and then brought it into VR, you’d get No More Rainbows.

  • Unique arm based locomotion allows you to play the game however you see fit, any and all surfaces are climbable.

  • A story mode with 3 different explorable worlds and over 45 increasingly challenging levels.

  • Compete against the world for the best times! No More Rainbows features in-depth global leaderboards for completionists and speedrunning enthusiasts.

  • Epic Boss levels that will challenge your skills.
