Knytt Underground
I’ve never written a review on steam before, but I simply had to for this game. I bought it 4 years or so ago, and completed it once back then, and once more now after finding all the secrets. This is an absolutely incredible game.
What makes it incredible? It utilises the full potential inherent in the platforming genre, with lots of cool movement sections, some interesting movement-altering abilities you pick up, and just overall tight controls and a well-designed world. The soundtrack is so good you’ll be listening to it long after finishing the game (I certainly still do). As a nice bonus, if you enjoy speedrunning you’ll find this game is perfect for it, which a built-in maze-like shortcut system called The Disorder which makes the any% category really wild.

tl;dr: Knytt Underground is a 10/10, it’s amazingly detailed and has so much charm that it’s practically oozing out. Brilliant Sound design, fitting music, intelligent dialogue, addictive gameplay, and a massive world to explore that’s handled expertedly.
I’m in love with this game, when I first got it I knew that I was going to love it. The sounds, the music, the backgrounds, the art, the gameplay, the characters, everything! It just feels so thought out like a giant complete puzzle. As such, I’ll be going into detail about things that make this game great, and also replying to the most Popular Negative Reviews here on Steam.

Remnants of Naezith
Very well designed grapple-platformer with a great engine and emphasis on speedrunning.
You have your left and right movement buttons with 3 actions buttons; grapple (fixed 45 degree angle), jump and dash. The level designs are varied and will force you to learn all the ins and outs of your skill set; you can double jump, reel yourself towards the grapple location with or without dash, run/dash/jump on water when you have enough speed and/or good landing angle - these are just some examples of the diversity you can expect from your abilities.

Hardcore platformer with grappling hooks and no speed limit, could it possibly be any better?!
The challenge, the competition, the rewarding feeling of accomplishment: very few games give you all of these at once.
And the moment you realize there is global ranking with replays of every single record to learn from, this game is set to be the heaven of most friendly rivalry you can imagine!
Oh, and don’t miss to join game’s discord, the developer and most top-tier players all sit right there.

Quite a difficult and fun game, although not impossible. I completed this game in the evening, I liked almost everything, except for moments with traps (platforms that fall at the most inopportune moment), and I will also say that in the cost of the game does not include the cost of buying a new keyboard that you might break it while playing this game.

It is a challenging game, but the art, the music, the experience of playing it makes it worthed :)

It is a very good game, I had a lot of fun playing it. It was challenging and that is what made it even more exciting.
The music was wonderful, and the story was intriguing. I do recommend to play this game if you like to be challenged.
El juego es muy bueno, me he divertido mucho jugandolo. Este juego si que te pone a prueba mientras que te relaja con la musica, y la historia es interesante, es bueno y simple a la vez. Recomiendo este juego a aquellos que les guste un buen desafio.

Hold 10 Seconds
A challenging 2D platformer - Jump across moving platforms and avoid falling off the screen. You only need to stay alive for 10 seconds! Which turned out to be a lot harder than it sounds.. Very cool!

Game mechanic is simple but effective, some stages are quite trolls.
PS: Love the music!

Speedgunner Ultra
This game has transformers, grappling, and golfing all packed into one crazy IL-based speedrunning game with banging music. It’s awesome.

What a lovely platformer! Awesome 16 bit graphics and action music soundtrack! But I’ve purchased this game for another reason - it’s really interesting and difficult gameplay. I’m not so good with difficult games, so this was a challenge for me. And I must say I needed all my skill and reaction to pass through levels.
Amazing indie-game! Recommended!

Super Red-Hot Hero
Few words about the game;
If you like platformers you may like it it’s challenging and there really are no ‘‘good’’ new platformers out there..
However game looks much better on trailer than it really is, character design and animations around him are okay, but everything else is just meh and below mediocre, you can see that time run over it since it was developed years back.
Also important note is that you are required to play it with controller because playing with keyboard is impossible due stupid controls.

Wall Ninja
It is a really good game! You need to have perseverance, because it usually doesn’t work the first time, but when it does, it is very rewarding.

After the last update this game has become much more fun! I enjoy the experience and I’m curious what the developer will do with it. If you liked Getting over it, I would recommend giving this a try :)

1001 Spikes
Disclaimer: If you inherently can’t stand timing-based platforming and a certain level of trial-and-error/memorization, this game is not for you.
Mario really changed platforming huh? I mean he pretty much created it with his appearance in Donkey Kong, but it was Super Mario Bros. that defined core platforming mechanics for years to come. Chief among these is the jumping itself: SMB added a momentum based system as well as variable jump lengths depending on how long you held down the button. Put these together and you had a game that just felt better than any other game at the time. Fast forward to today and we’re in a resurgence of the genre, with a new SMB, Super Meat Boy, taking its place as king with the most refined Mario controls to date.

Did you think Super Meat Boy was hard? Did They Bleed Pixels make you break out in hives? Masocore platforming wonders though they be, both of these games prostrate themselves before the blood-splattered feet of Aban Hawkins and the 1001 Spikes. It’s hardcore!
But it is far from unfair, and that is a big portion what makes the game so good. Yes, 1001 Spikes demands some of the most nitpicky platforming precision in all of neoretro gaming, and it will frequently cheapshot you as you stand, exhaling pent-up breath, before the level exit – but it can be mastered, and the controls are both sensitive and simple enough for you to smoothly handle any challenge it throws at you. You never run out of chances to triumph, either; though the game pretends to give you 1001 lives, that is nothing more than an arbitrary counter to increase the feeling of tension as you watch it decrease by the hundreds. You’ll actually get a few extra automatically whenever you run out (not that this ever happened to me, I am proud to say). Funny thing is, even knowing this, you still get nervous watching those lives dwindle. I’m sure Philip Zimbardo could do a study on that . . .
