The Last Stand: Aftermath

The Last Stand: Aftermath

Update: after finishing the game.

The story is on par with previous titles, simple, straighforward with a touch of mistery. I liked the way it ended.

Gameplay cicle is ok, and i believe that the game can be completed on an average of 30 hours of gameplay.

If you liked the other TLS games, this one is a refreshing take, and you can really see that it was indeed made by the original author of the previous titles, there are small details that give such a feeling, like the character visuals, gameplay mechanics from all previous games and the related story.

So, finished the base game and unlocked the essentially Heat system from Hades, haven’t messed with it yet though. Game has its problems, but it’s got a solid foundation and is worth the chance if you’re into zombies and/or roguelikes.

E - The patch actually fixed quite a few of the issues I had, ended up finishing maxed out heat run and unlocking everything.

Pros -

There’s quite a bit to unlock via character progression with knowledge, or item spawns/things to start runs with with Supply points, always feels like you’re making some sort of progression.

This game really small right now, but that by no means its bad. The new update for the menu really helped as it look quite akward before. If your scared of EA i would definatly say wait but i think there is some fun to have here, and potential.

Great Top-Down Shooter. Reminds me of titles such as ‘Crimsonlands.’

Have been following the creation process of this game for years now.

Very happy with the latest update :)

The game is disappointingly short, even without reading a walkthrough, i finished the game under 1 hour, it was a big let down.

She Will Shoot

She Will Shoot

(Revised a previous review) As of late October, 2021, I still cannot recommend this game. The whole thing seems incomplete. Paid $0.74 and not going to seek a refund for it because I feel the game has potential. For what it is worth, my pros/cons are as follows:

Pros:

  • Graphics are fairly good.

  • Player movement is realistic.

  • I love zombie-themed games (and this is so)

  • Love the slow-down feature (X key) to slow the action when shooting zombies.

Cons:

  • No save feature.

  • No continue from save feature.

So yeah this game is shit, but cheap. It can be used to kill some time.

It is poorly optimised, and there’s no real gameplay.

I wish there was a “Meh” option.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead shows there is still life in the zombie apocalypse trope.

I’ve long been a fan of using fictional post-apocalyptic settings as a way to explore deeper themes surrounding humanity, so even though we’re currently in the midst of a pandemic (a common cause leading to fictional post-apocalyptic universes), The Walking Dead universe setting of this game was guaranteed to immediately pique my interest. My interest was even more piqued when I realized it was a puzzle-solving game, because I thoroughly enjoy the mental stimulation that comes from wrestling with puzzles. This interest was paid off with a delightful experience provided by Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead, which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys physics-based simulation-puzzle games, regardless of the setting.

75/100 some hard puzzles wait^^

Playthrough: 18-20hours (100% Achievements)

Each mission comes with a short Intro.. sadly you have to confirm each dialogue.. annoying.

Also don´t expect total freedom.. some solutions don´t work because the devs were lazy and rushed Release. Still, it´s a nice game to relax a bit and use your brain.

  • Bridge maps outside are still quite classic

Eternity Warriors™ VR

Eternity Warriors™ VR

Update: What are you waiting for ??? This is a MUST BUY for everyone physically capable !!! AAA type VR experience. It is the best wave type game out there, period !!! You can’t convince me otherwise. Don’t miss out because of your fear. This game will test whether your claim of being hardcore is true.

The most recent update added the ability to see the trophy models real life sized. Pretty cool to look at. There was also a good update to the sword and shield play to make it a bit more balanced but still very very challenging. One thing I noticed after playing much is that you are not always in the same place on the levels especially changing weapon loadouts. Co-op acts the same way. That was a nice touch to give an added feel of not being repetative and playing in completely different perspectives. The pre-thought for this game is amazing. It can only get more awesome.

Do I reccomend this game?!

WHAT KINDA QUESTION IS THAT?!

OF COURSE I DO!

Weapon types!

  • Sword and Shield: Feel like you’re hacking down your enemies with the sword and toss em up like a salad with the shield’s knockup and parry. Demon in the back outta your swords reach? Parry that arrow and return to sender! But the fun part is the blades Holy Flame! Rev that puppy up after a few kills and lay waste with Seraph Strikes!

  • Bow: Be that Hawkeye guy dudeman with the Bow and arrow with fly, fancy gadgets like the lock on arrow volley and time barrier to freeze you enemies in their tracks! Hell, put an apple on their head and split it like Robin Hood since they can’t do a damn thing to stop you~ Oh those sharp points on the bow aren’t just for show, cut em up while yer at it!

The Last Stand Legacy Collection

The Last Stand Legacy Collection

It’s pretty much what you’d expect - Legacy Collection of some of the best games I played back in the day, a franchise I still love - Last Stand. All the Premium content is featured for Union City. The games are capped at 30-40 FPS no matter what you do, the horde attacks and flashlight lag are still present in Union City, UC has little to none upscale done to it, there’s also bugs I personally didn’t encounter years ago during the Flash era :

  1. Whenever you travel with a companion to a new area, you can say goodbye to any weapon you’ve gave them, because they reset to the default you’ve recruited them with ;

I cannot sing this collection’s praises enough. I grew up with The Last Stand 1 & 2 on Newgrounds, and never got to experience the full release of Union City. The games are exactly as I remember them, no BS added in to change it. If you want a collection of solid, classic zombie flash games that heavily inspired the original CoD Zombies format (no, I’m not kidding, this series in particular was cited for heavy inspiration), then look no further.

My only con is that sometimes Union City will lag due to amount of onscreen entities. Nothing major, but it is noticeable.

Its amazing the way we have to survive against radiation and zombies at the same time!

The game is really cool, the story is very exciting and I can’t wait to see how its gonna end.

I recommend to don’t skip cutscenes nor ignore the papers, it really connects the story.

I’m already asking my friends to play so we can talk about the story hahaha.

Deadlight

Deadlight

Now, where I have played Deadlight until the 100%-mark and having done everything that could be achieved, the only thing that is missing until completion is a detailed review containing the impressions I gathered over that journey.

First of all, success is what I link with Deadlight. There I few games I brought the courage to play until exhaustion and with Deadlight happened exactly that. I am a platformer enthusiast but the few I played have usually been abandoned because I coudn’t take the challenge. In my Zombie-hype phase, but even after it, Deadlight kept me fascinated with the fantastic graphic design and the well composed Soundtrack, I have reviewed seperately. With that being said, Deadlight has acoustically and visually definately been mastered and is therefore absolutely worth the purchase.

“It’s All Fun And Games Until You Get Bitten”

‘Deadlight’ is a visually stunning, wonderfully atmospheric, survival horror 2.5-D Platformer which raises the bar for the genre in some respects, but then also stumbles in others – resulting in a generally fun, if confoundingly uneven escape from reality.

Campaign: Developed by Tequila Works | Microsoft Studios and released in late-2012, the game drops you into the shoes of Randall Wayne, a US Park Ranger on a desperate search for his missing family in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. Each level takes you across a fantastic imagining of a post-apocalyptic Seattle (circa 1986), featuring both indoor, outdoor and underground elements, with hauntingly beautiful backdrops making for some of the best visuals, atmosphere and tone in recent gaming memory.

Final Days

Final Days

I have been an pre alpha tester of this game and personally know the developer so please keep this in mind when reading my review.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the testing of this game. It is a simple game mechanic and style that is done very well.

It’s multiplayer is of a very high calibre and I have had some awesome moments while playing with larger groups doing silly things like charging into a room together then relaising how badly you are out number fleeing and closing the door behind you with other members of your team still in a room with a horde :)

Real player with 26.3 hrs in game

Game is entertaining, stable, and well-done for a solo developer. Music is good.

Multiplayer hosting requires a bit of extra work to set up (uPnP or port forwarding), I can see this being a problem for some, but if I managed to do it, you probably can too. Community is rather microscopic, but the bots are actually quite decent. [EDIT: See developer response 25 Jun 2019; Thanks Mike!]

The game is not very expensive and there’s a free demo, so no reason not to try the game at least.

I’m partial to Last Stand game mode, given I like games like Nation Red and Versus Squad, but the other modes are also very good.
