This is a great game. Survive against mutated humans, creature, bears, wolves etc. The crafting system is incredible, very elaborate & well thought out, also with the newly added trader system. Work out how to craft scrap metal to make the game easier to survive. Building is enjoyable also but you can live in the RV at the spawn location & place objects inside. Congratulations to the Developer Sydney Games for producing this game.

With all of the reviews and people complained most of the time about the game, I was deterred. However, I still gave this game a chance. I’ve put 5 hours into it now, but I do have quite a lot to say about it.

For those of you who are familiar with FFXIV, you know crafting can be a pain and there are those that enjoy the grind. I’m one of those that enjoy the grind. The time doesn’t really bother me, and for a game that’s supposed to be post-apocalyptic and zombie infested, this seems rather realistic in a sense. You start from nothing, and it’s not about racing to the finish, it’s about making sure you survive and have set up good defenses and prepare yourself for what’s coming. I haven’t come across a crew member yet and I’ve died about 3 times already, and I’m fine with that.

This review is as of initial release, it is a hot mess that could turn good if developers focus on fixing issues.

The good

1: I will say I like the game for its ideals, it gives a good exploration experience.

2: Could be potentially good after more time in the oven.

The bad

1:Crafting times are horrible, it should not take a hour to make 30 seconds worth of rifle ammo.

2:Crafting should not be linked to your character if there is going to be such long crafting times for metals and charcoal.

Note to 2: I see npcs have the option for doing tasks; however npcs are currently broken with no english subtitles or dubbing, along with despawning of said npcs when attempting to restart the game dropping all items in possession on the ground except the equippables, which simply vanish with the npc.

20 Minute Metropolis - The Action City Builder

20 Minute Metropolis - The Action City Builder

I’ll confess I’m biased because a friend that works for me did some of the artwork on this and I’ve long been a fan of Dejobaan.

This is a fun, bite-sized strategy game and less than $3. It’s hard to go wrong. I can’t think of any time I’ve actually regretted spending $3, but this was enjoying to play, and I will keep trying to get my name on the top page.

I would love to see a couple quality of life improvements: namely drag and drop roads, hotkeys or an expanded toolbar so I don’t have to fuss with the selection menus. Daily leaderboards would be nice too, so I have a better chance at the top ten.

Super fun and hectic. It can become a little easy after you’ve figured out a good strategy but you can always use a different starting perk which adds and takes away some difficulty. The models are really cute, reminds me of a toy town or Lego.

Some improvements I’d make would be, dragging roads to build instead of clicking for each tile. This isn’t a big issue, but could herald RSI if played too often.

I’d like more maps, a random map generation would be cool, it would make each run very different and unique.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead shows there is still life in the zombie apocalypse trope.

I’ve long been a fan of using fictional post-apocalyptic settings as a way to explore deeper themes surrounding humanity, so even though we’re currently in the midst of a pandemic (a common cause leading to fictional post-apocalyptic universes), The Walking Dead universe setting of this game was guaranteed to immediately pique my interest. My interest was even more piqued when I realized it was a puzzle-solving game, because I thoroughly enjoy the mental stimulation that comes from wrestling with puzzles. This interest was paid off with a delightful experience provided by Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead, which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys physics-based simulation-puzzle games, regardless of the setting.

75/100 some hard puzzles wait^^

Playthrough: 18-20hours (100% Achievements)

Each mission comes with a short Intro.. sadly you have to confirm each dialogue.. annoying.

Also don´t expect total freedom.. some solutions don´t work because the devs were lazy and rushed Release. Still, it´s a nice game to relax a bit and use your brain.

Global Pandemic

Global Pandemic

The plan was to experiment with Dinosaur and Zombie DNA.

The plan was NOT to create a virus, NOT to let it out, and NOT to effect the whole world.

The vast majority of the population of the planet died within months. Those that remained either “Turned” vicious and feral, or if immune to the pandemic, live their lives as bandits. All are dangerous. Not to mention the Dinosaurs…

Game Play

Set in a post-apocalyptic open world, you can create bases through building, and create items through crafting. Loot is available to find throughout the world. Manage your own inventory, and use containers such as lockers, crates, kitchen cupboards, and more.

Bandits, the Turned (Zombies), wild animals, and even dinosaurs (optionally!) will seek to kill you. You will also have to deal with thirst, hunger and the elements.

Explore the ever-growing world, full of places to discover, by running or using vehicles. From military bases, to abandoned villages - from motels to remote buildings - from hidden caves to farms - every update brings more to discover and encounter, in Global Pandemic.

An innovative skills and stats system will see your character develop in your own game style (or set all to fully developed if you prefer!).

Can you survive? Who will you be? What world will you create?

Sheltered

Sheltered

I have updated this review after I tried the release 1.0 version. My verdict is largely the same.

The game has definitely improved since my impressions from Early Access, and can, if the developers keep improving it here after release 1.0, in time have enough gameplay to make it fun (not quite there yet). At the moment it has some flaws that makes the game unbearable to play for me.

No in-game pause:

One big flaw is the fact that this the inability to pause in-game.

This is a game about survival where you have to manage a lot of things that constantly degrade and break down and the more people you have and the bigger your shelter gets, the more this will require your attention. Sure, it is no problem at the start, but it quickly becomes a problem. Many of the things require attention fast and especially when a lot of things are happening at once does this problem really show itself. Only way to pause is by going to the options menu where you can’t see nor interact with anthing. It is unnecessarily stressing and just makes you frustrated in stead of adding anything to the game.

Sheltered is a little bit This War of Mine, a little bit Fallout Shelter and a touch of… something altogether different. All in all I really enjoyed this game and felt like I really got my monies worth. I picked up Sheltered during a Humble Bundle survival sale but I would have gladly paid full price for it. The following is a detailed summary of what Sheltered does well and a couple small areas where it falls a bit short.

Graphics - I list this first because visuals are highly subjective. I loved the retro styled pixelated graphics of Sheltered and often found myself impressed by how well the minimalist graphics were able to convey the gritty emotions of a post apocalyptic world. For some this visual style may be a turn-off but I recommend giving the game a chance anyway.

Red Brick Hotel

Absolute trash, as you’d expect from your typical lazy 12 year old kid who got the almighty GameGuru software for his birthday! And if this trash was actually made by an adult, then that adult needs to be locked up for trying to SCAM Steam users for $17 USD. Unreal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1nnlTt3-5U

Another GameGuru trash game clogging up Steam, and another M.I.S.S. video on you channel. ..Some things never change.

NOT RECOMMENDED. This game isn’t even worth a quarter, much less $16.99 USD. Absurd.

Game Guru continues to be the worst development program.

This game is notable in that it has NPCs.

The enemies shoot through walls and the ever present heartbeat of game guru continues to be annoying as hell.
