A Date in the Park
This one’s a really good graphic adventure, coming completely for free.
It may take you some time to look everywhere.. even if it isn’t that long :)
Graphics are quite particular for these point and click adventures - you’ve got prerendered backgrounds and a 3D character over them (or more).. it’s quite strange for a point and click adventure but the images are good and overall the setting isn’t too vast to explore.
Many said that this game is overly played due to being free and this is a valid point, but trust me, as a visual adventure it had deserved its own 1€ price. Being free it’s a great plus here.

(Before people thumbs-down this review for “being a hater”, please keep in mind that it’s about whether the review was HELPFUL or not.)
Yet another candidate for the “Mixed Review” section. Ultimately, however, I’m going to have to say that I do not recommend this game unless you either want a free game to try out or if you want a quick, free 100%.
Play as……. umm…. Some blue-shirt guy who fell in love with a girl a week ago (literally…) . You’re in the park looking for your girlfr–…. well, date really… You look for the girl in the park through this point-and-click adventure title. Without spoiling the game, few events happen and the ending is disappointing. (It’s clever, but disappointing. Seriously, don’t fall in love with someone you just met… there are consequences for such passions. Same can be said for this title.)

Discolored
Very Nice game, good ambient music, I read somewhere it reminded to Twin Peaks. Yes it has that eerieness to it.
Puzzles are good, real brain teasers. In a way its a bit like the Room, just one house and its close surroundings. But nicely layed out. And with a kind of glasses to show secrets/hints.
At some point I thought I was close to the end, but no, so that required some more thinking. I also saw already people making Walkthroughs, but for me that takes away the charm and the fun of solving it yourself. Its also got some hidden achievements, and I must admit the last one for me I wouldnt have found without some help from the community hahaha.

This puzzle game has a real feel for the nostalgic, which is something I appreciate, and its visuals provide a sense for the noir genre. I did also find it somewhat reminiscent of the Myst game series in style, especially while playing with the Point-and-Click mode (You can choose to play Free Roam or Point-and-Click, and are free to switch game modes anytime throughout the game). It is set in a different dimension, where symbols of triangles and eyes are everywhere, and color and light are essential elements to the game, all of which help to bring out a unique experience of game play. Discolored is, although a short game, also quite a challenging one (at times, frustratingly so), with a little “moon” logic thrown in.

Alum
** Το παιχνίδι ολοκληρώθηκε ** (For English scroll down)

Alum reminds me of my impressions of The Chronicles of Narnia. When a teenager, I was quite excited about the series until I read some critics. Then my reaction was like, “What?! This wonderful lion, Aslan, is no more than old boring Jesus? Oh no!” However, Alum’s creators aren’t as subtle as C. S. Lewis; their approach is more like that of Superbook.
You play as a member of religiously driven anarcho-primitivist gang of those who use terror as a way to convince people and would destroy the city’s central heating system just to make people “think out of a box” and “understand things wider” (?!). The Rogations (that’s their name, but it probably should be The Rogues) blame their contemporaries (modern people) that they live in industrialized society and can no longer be guided by “faith” as it were in the Middle Ages; if so, Middle Ages should be returned artificially. Does it remind you some, so to say, not very good people (from the real world)?!

The Search
I’m glad I didn’t let the mixed reviews deter me from this peaceful and very atmospheric little adventure.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Lovely soundtrack. Interesting gameplay, minimal and easy so as to not distract from the experience. Lots of (maybe a little bit too many) bits on Jung’s psychology and creative processes. For those who are any creatively inclined, feeling stuck in their lives or the like, this could double as a virtual holiday in a quiet mediterranean town with a gamified mini self-help book. One of the negative reviews says “the story reads like you’re trapped in your freshman dorm room with a very high fine arts major who is trying to impart to you All The Wisdom Of The Universe” - I don’t entirely disagree, but I guess I have a bit of a thing for high fine arts majors :D And I have to say that where I’m currently at, quite a lot of the messages actually spoke to me.

This is a rudimentary walking simulator of someone’s Psych 101 thesis paper.
While the graphics and music are beautiful, reminiscent of games like Ether One, and while Cissy Jones does an amazing job with the voice acting, there just isn’t enough substance to make it worth the playtime.
The infrequent puzzles, if you can really call them puzzles, are simple item use interactions telegraphed by literal writing on the wall. Even the item locations are handed to you on a cheat sheet posted near the start of each main area.

Hair of the Dog
This game is right up my alley! From the very beginning it oozes charm and hilarity. The pace is swift and the characters intriguing. I’ve smiled constantly and laughed out loud many times. It delivers straight away and is delightfully observed too - for anyone into history, literature, cinema. I think I’ll have to watch Tall Story Games closely and see what they do next!

I played this game after enjoying the demo for Lucy Dreaming - so much so that I joined the kick starter for it! This is a lovely game, beautifully made and with a great, dark sense of humour. The fact that this was made in just 2 weeks makes it even more impressive! A few of the puzzles really had me scratching my head (pun intended!) but it was always just difficult enough to be engaging, rather than infuriating.
If you liked this, then I highly recommend Lucy Dreaming.

Lost Remnant: The End Tides
So far I’m very much enjoying the game. It’s a point and click, story heavy game.
You have been left an inheritance by your grandfather, his cabin, now yours. Through found letters you find that your grandfather wants you to leave the town, though by what means you’ll have to play to find out. You start by collecting roaches to use as fishing bait and from there you can start to craft and sell items in order to make the money needed to do as your grandfather wished.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game it was not what I was expecting when I read mysterious point and click with eldritch horrors. The game is basically a resource management gathering game with some point and click aspects but not many which is nice cause instead of looking for one hidden object or how to use an object for hours your steadily progressing towards your goal. Game was really enjoyable with messages constantly to break up the grind with plot or story there’s not much visible eldritch creatures but there’s ton of mention of them. my full 100% play through with all letters and endings here (once it finishes processing): https://youtu.be/B8UwzltTPnc I had to replaythrough the game since eldritch horrors ate half the video but just a heads up the game says you get 2 redwood logs a tree but you only get one not

Authentic small two-color point-and-click adventure game in retro 80s style.
This game can be a real gem for you if you value minimalism and retro atmosphere with a non-linear sci-fi adventure with less graphics and more story.

spacenet is a retro-style sci-fi point & click that gave me asteroids, elite and similar vibes, but there’s no combat, resource management (except money, see below) or anything like that here, just you in your spaceship wandering around, talking, puzzling and hacking in a non-linear fashion.

A Long Road Home
Let me be fair and square. Lately I´m not that much into RPG Maker games since they are mostly all alike, This one stands aside.
Firstly, it’s a point-and-click adventure with completely deployable mouse.
Secondly, the game has both a good story (including lore) and a bunch of good puzzles.
Thirdly, you actually have to read the docs you find in order to move on through the plot, which I find pretty unique these days.
Besides, the soundtrack is fantastic and adds a lot to the atmosphere.

For a game that I payed 80 cents (sale) this was a good bargain. I’ve passed about 8 hours playing it, it’s not too much hard, but I do recommend a guide because some puzzles can be a bit more frustrating. You need to be very attentive to what you find and read!
Story was not a must but for the price I wasn’t expecting something grand. I do recommend.
P.S. - I had to play it in the small window mode, because fullscreen makes the pixels too much big, a pity that there’s no middle to window size in this game…….

Desolatium: Prologue
I totally recommend this!
I loved the atmosphere and the music, I was totally immersed in the story from second one. The sound keeps you in constant tension the whole game so that’s a plus.
I also enjoyed all the references, especially the ones in the cemetery (didn’t know about all of them but took notes of some movies to watch, so thanks devs!)
It’s a short game but it’s just the prologue, so I can imagine what the devs are preparing for the final game. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

An enjoyable Prologue to the upcoming game. (As a backer of the full game, I received the Prologue for free). I played the desktop version.
Short, but sweet and enjoyable. It has been a while since I played a point and click adventure like this, and it gives me fond memories of the days of Myst (only with the ability to freely look around, which is always a plus). The puzzles are simple enough, and allow you to focus on the atmosphere.
Speaking of the atmosphere, it was great! Love the setting and the colours used, as well as the style of the artwork and imagery used. I especially enjoyed the ambient music and soundscaping, top notch and certainly helped create built the mood, so hats off to those in charge of the sound!
