This game plays brilliantly with the concept of time. You play as Shade, a little guy created by the King to be a servant of his underground kingdom with only 2 tasks: waking him up after his 400 days hibernation and to not leave the caves.

The 400 days countdown starts when you first open the game and is tracked in real-time, even when you exit the game. One thing to know though, is that just like in real life, time goes faster when you occupy yourself so you don’t have to literally wait for 400 days to see the end of the game.

Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals

Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals

A decent game for fans of the Enki Bilal’s Nikopol trilogy, and his works in general. But ONLY for the fans or people at least knowing either the graphic novels or eventually the film “Immortel (ad vitam)” (the best - both; the movie is/or was free to watch on YT). I think that only then the player can appreciate the content by entering this dark future sci-fi, enjoying original designs and nice pieces of Bilal’s characteristic graphics from the trilogy.

People not knowing what the Nikopol trilogy is about - should be very careful about the title. I suppose those are majority of the negative reviews here. You will just not get the point here - like it or not, but this particular game can be only treated as an extension to those other works. There are many unexplained references to those, so you would probably miss half of joy.

It’s unclear whether something important is either lost in translation, or just expected to be found in sources outside of the content of the game, but either way, the events in Nikopol feel like a drug trip; nothing that happens ever seems to make much sense, and everybody who inhabits its world operates on some inscrutible, Lynchian-esque, fever-dream logic that never reveals itself to the player over the course of the game.

To further complicate things, the game’s frequently frustrating and obtuse puzzles are presented—visually and mechanically—in a manner that would have seemed quaint in a game 10 years its senior; as difficult as it may be to tell at face value, Nikopol was released contemporaneously with titles like Dead Space, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2 and Mirror’s Edge, just to name a few.

Paper Shakespeare: Cthulhu Coriolanus

Paper Shakespeare: Cthulhu Coriolanus

BECOME A LEGEND.

General Caius “Coriolanus” Martius is one of Rome’s most feared warriors. So, you know, as this is a war story, that’s gonna have a happy ending. As a war story in Shakespeare Times™, it will 100% have a happier ending than any other happy ending.

Yes, that’s sarcasm.

Enemies are around every corner. Old vendettas lurk in every shadow. War is never over. Navigate Caius through this poorly-drawn (boy, that joke is really overused by now) visual novel of battle, betrayal, and choices that you have to make every so often that may or may not throw the story in a new direction. A direction that Shakespeare never intended. Scary, right? Total Death of the Author right here.

Navigate a weird lil' adventure game of war and more war, and sometimes politics. The politics of - wait for it:

Modern Warfare.

  • As Caius, the choices you make in how exactly to respond to certain situations may open up other paths down the road

This is totally not a parody or a satire of anything.

50% of all sales go towards the Wounded Warrior Project and Feast of Crispian.

About the Wounded Warrior Project

Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military.

About Feast of Crispian

Feast Of Crispian is a non-profit organization that brings professional actors and veterans together to strengthen the emotional resources they need to overcome trauma and reintegration issues.

Purrfect Apawcalypse: Patches' Infurno

Purrfect Apawcalypse: Patches' Infurno

I would honestly recommend this game so much. It’s so well made along with having a 3-Part Game Series already (this being the 3rd). I’d recommend playing if you like Visual novels in general. I’d also recommend you’d play the last 2 games first before this one since they deserve some love and also add up to the story into this one so everything makes sense. It’s kinda sad for how underrated this game series is and yet it’s made and done so well. Hopefully this gains more attention!

Real player with 43.9 hrs in game

Patches' Infurno, oh boy, oh boy is it a long one, 2 hours with breaks and a fail to complete with the first try, half an hour later with skipping, but the thing is, it’s the most linear. After getting the worst and best endings you are left with nothing much left to explore besides maybe a mixed path. You can also see in this one the bias towards the best endings in the series, with them getting extra scenes and text if followed even though the game is literally called Patches' Infurno, with the name visibly meant to mimic Dante’s Inferno from where you only go deeper so a little more content for the worst path would be nice if ever planning to actually pick the game up again or make a similar game in the same universe but with different characters or in a different genre.

The Adventures of Bluke Bifton

The Adventures of Bluke Bifton

The Adventures of Bluke Bifton is a bizarre point-n-click adventure game set in a world of complete absurdity. Journey across a once-peaceful land, allying (or making enemies) with a cast of strange, fully-voiced characters. Boldly forge your own path with a focus on player choice, all while trying to solve the mystery behind the chaos invading your home.

Explore the Isle of Flungo in a side-scrolling, point-n-click perspective

The Isle of Flungo is open to explore, whether it be on foot, or by (extremely run-down) vehicle. Either way, you’ll take control of Bluke in a side-scrolling, point-n-click perspective, able to click on any object or character of interest to engage with it.

Make unpredictable choices and be met with equally-unexpected consequences

Want to take on the role of a pacifist? Achieve your goals through violence? Maybe you just want to keep everyone alive… with a heavy emphasis on player choice, it’s up to you to decide how to navigate Bluke’s chaotic journey.

Engage in genre-shifting minigames and hone your skills

Saving the Isle isn’t all work! Genre-shifting minigames are sprinkled throughout Bluke’s journey to spice things up. Try for a high-score in the Arcade, and compete with your friends on the leaderboards.

Erica

Erica

Erica is a beautifully designed and well performed movie choice style video game. The cast, story, and production was all executed superbly, leaving my only complaint being that I would like to enjoy more of it. This is more of a compliment that a complete game has that reaction, but here we are.

The story has a lot of twists and turns, despite being about as long as a motion picture film (approximately 130 minutes). The writing was well done, giving the cast a good structured story to work with. The acting was brilliant, and definitely performed a very believable and enrapturing experience. Upon reaching the conclusion, I am left with many questions. I will not go into spoilers, but I am hoping for more to come, and to include some elaboration on the events that transpired up to this point. I am also going to enjoy taking all of the other options available in follow plays through, and seeing if that clears up any of those questions. I will be taking every single option that I can.

Best game I have ever played. This is just a next generation of FMV games and even more impressing is the fact that only 6-8 people were making this masterpiece without actors included. Great job Jack, Pavle and Holly. Hope we will see more games from you.

My Dear Frankenstein -English Edition-

My Dear Frankenstein -English Edition-

A very cute and fun puzzle game from NUMBER7 and Moonchime. I played this for the spooky season and the atmosphere was perfect! (Not to say you can’t play it at any time of the year)

The main character is a boy named Adam who has been given life by a reclusive and wealthy man rather obsessed with pushing the boundaries of science and technology. After being warned about leaving the mansion due to his startling appearance, Adam receives a mysterious visitor who wants him to do the exact opposite. As it turns out, pieces of Adam’s heart have been scattered throughout the town and he must explore to get them back.
