Orbals

Orbals

Orbals is a fast-paced, rolling adventure puzzle game with wonderful graphics and sound. Quickly solve puzzles to master the Mojometer, find new Orbals characters and unlock special abilities.

The player controls a spherical character called an Orbal through a series of traps in order to break all of the colored Mojo Crates in a level. There are over 100 levels included in the game and all stages are timed. Players can only smash Mojo Crates of the same color, requiring the player to roll over special color infusers to change the Orbal into the correct color. To succeed, players must quickly plan each move in advance to efficiently navigate and clear the stage. Orbals characters have unique special abilities fueled by Mojo to help the player complete each stage faster. Abilities can only be replenished by collecting Mojo Essence from Mojo Crates. The player must smash all of the Mojo Crates and Bonus Ice Cubes to advance to the next stage.

REDITUM

REDITUM

Forget everything you know. This place is a very different place.

You are in a simulation. Although you are able to go anywhere you want, you can’t actually go.

REDITUM is a short first-person puzzle platforming game.

You can change the gravity. You can walk the walls. You can swap the boxes. You have to solve puzzles and pass levels.

Walls: If you press (E) to a wall, you rotate the simulation.

Boxes: There are 2 kinds of boxes. On the arrow, they fall on the wall they show. You can open the doors by moving them.

Empty boxes are not affected by gravity. You have to use them to overcome obstacles.

Lasers: You can reflect the lasers by placing the Reflectors in appropriate places. You must carry the power and open the doors.

Portal: You must activate the portal by finding the Pieces of Power in the simulation.

Skyraine

Skyraine

This is one of my favorite indie games. The gameplay is very interesting and took a little while to figure out. After a bit of playing and watching the videos posted by the developers I started to get the hang of it. The developers definitely have a sense of creativity.

Ancient looking strategy platformer that got released for some reason in 2017.

Tower Offender

Tower Offender

This game is all about stopping the Hero from getting to the tower to do what heroes to best. You will have some time to prepare and then can continue your efforts as he progresses.

A twist on the traditional tower defence genre, in this game you can run and jump around the level and place traps and obstacles that should hamper the progress of the hero. Once the hero arrives you can continue to move around and adjust the placement of traps, either by placing more, or by moving the ones you have already placed.

ASTROVITY

ASTROVITY

This game has been in my wish list for a while and I was so excited to finally be able to play it! It’s welcoming to play a game for once that is actually challenging at times and requires you to think about how the level can be completed. It is very satisfying when you figure out how to complete it and move on to the next stage - i feel smarter since playing it.

It keeps your interest as new game mechanics are introduced throughout the levels. There is so much detail within each level and I look forward to reading notes and speaking to humorous characters that contribute to the intriguing story and immerse you into the world. The art style of this game is stunning! I could use the background to every level as my desktop wallpaper. Also the soundtrack is subtle and positively adds to the atmosphere of the game. Although i’m only 6 hours in I can’t wait to replay it so I can find all the collectables and secrets i may have missed. Would definitely recommend this game and I’m excited for what they are going to do next!

I can say with 100% certainty that this is a buy!

I was sceptical because I have never played 2D games prior to this one, and I’ll be the first to say that I will be purchasing more games like this!

If this was on IMDB, it would get an 8.8/10! It is Christopher Nolan level.

Having only played just under an hour of this challenging game, I have reached a sky-rocketing death-count just north of 100, and I am excited to gain more and see how the story unveils!

Disparity

Disparity

This game looks good, it plays well (though some hitboxes are larger than the sprite, which means occasionally you die without hitting them), and has great music. Great speed game as well, except for the fact that it occasionally locks at 50 or 55 fps, making you noticable slower and making speedrunning this impossible. Definitely worth the 80p for a single playthrough though.

A fun and challenging platformer with 2 Endings and Replay Value.

Pros: Multiple Ends, Interesting Machanics, and it’s not too easy nor hard.

Cons: My only con is the game is kinda short and I wish this game got a sequel and more praise.

Divine Stone

Divine Stone

Divine Stone is a simple 2D platformer/puzzle/riddle game where you must solve riddles and other puzzles to pass each level. There’s hand drawn art but it’s not badly done, and there’s some clever ideas in the puzzles.

Some of the puzzles are a bit too vague/unclear, and on a technical basis the game is a bit clunky. Resolution is locked and can’t be changed, so the game doesn’t meet basic standards for a contemporary PC game. The translation is rough, too. I think the developers do deserve some kudos for a genuine attempt at making an interesting video game. There’s too many poor quality asset/template flips and construction kit games on Steam, so it’s refreshing to see a real game for a change.

Feeling Square?

Feeling Square?

Written for 1561’s Thoughts - Honest reviews, for busy people.

Feeling Square? is a difficult platformer where you need to move multiple squares over to the exit, but the death of one means restarting the entire level. It’s more frustrating than challenging. 4/10

I can say that I’ve never been a huge fan of the rage genre, but this game was definitely one of the best rage games I’ve played. The level design is super well thought out while also very challenging providing the player with excellent gameplay. Even if you are not a fan of the die and restart type of game, this is one i can seriously recommend to all types of people.
