The classic of the gaming industry! A concept familiar to us from childhood. A stylish dark ball that has to jump from one platform to another and so on until the very end. It can get on your nerves, so be careful.

Quantum Project (QP) is a side-scrolling shooter / platformer hybrid set in a post-apocalyptic, war-torn future Earth. Players impersonate a soldier part of Team Alpha 3, that fights against an army of deadly robots and other enemies, while being assigned with progressively more difficult missions in each level, often behind enemy lines.

In general, a good platformer. You have to fight hordes of hungry creatures, to resist an army of robots. Quite good voice acting and musical accompaniment, the game has very good animation of movements, the gameplay is on the verge of tactics and action.

Tap Heroes
I recommend this game but, honestly, only just.
I read, in the other reviews for this game, about how the progression was slow and I thought “I bet it’s not that bad,” but BOY was I wrong. It’s, without a doubt, the slowest game I’ve ever played. After 6ish hours of “playing” (including auto-grinding while offline) your characters still feel weak and unprepared for most things.
Boss fights are not something you’ll ever grind (unlike other clicker games I’ve played - where bosses drop decent amounts of money for an only moderately harder encounter). These boss fights are essentially an attrition match - where you stand there spam-healing your fighter* (*your one reliable source of dps (because, as far as I’m concerned, the rogue is
! censored useless)) while you wait for either the boss to crit and OHKO you, or for you to finally whittle down the boss' HP and move on with your life (and your underwhelming reward for your last 5 minutes of play).

I might’ve recommended if the achievements worked but they don’t so I won’t. If you get offended easily this game is not for you I’m assuming it’s not meant to be offensive just low brow humor, but nothing amazing in this game. Basically the dino running game on chrome when a page doesn’t load that’s been improved slightly by upgrades and power ups. Game is still better than Dungeon No Dungeon and is 8 dollars cheaper so that’s a positive.

DARK AROUND YOU
Not a bad game, with nice graphics and pleasant gameplay. Played for a couple of hours and it was worth it.

Dark Around You is yet another 2D retro pixel platformer polluting the Steam marketplace. This one has a telekinesis gimmick where you can drag things around with the mouse pointer to help you do the platforming.
While this was built in Unity, it doesn’t seem like an asset flip as there’s a bespoke story and some pretty uniquely done mechanics and visuals. Kudos to the developer for that.
They chose to use obsolete retro pixel “art” as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It’s unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. There’s a really unpleasant screen filter/effect that makes the camera sway as you move around, it made me feel a bit queasy, and I couldn’t see any way to turn that off. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.

Slime Story
Edit: Jump mechanic has been fixed.
My not full play through here showing an absolutely annoying (possibly unintended mechanic in the game time stamp breaking it down and showing it at 1:03:05:
I like the game the music is nice and the stages for the most part are difficult but fair (For the most part) there’s a good bit of gotcha moments/patience check combos as you get farther in the game, but it’s not a ridiculous amount. What made me quit this game though is the fact the blob absolutely will not jump if he doesn’t have the full platform underneath him. This reinforces terrible platforming mechanics in a platformer to make longer jumps you want to get as close to the edge as possible before jumping. The Slime will do a half jump to absolutely no jump if you’re even a little bit hanging off the edge this is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING especially at the part (time stamp starts here: 32:14) with the wall where you have to go up and the moving platforms are timed at the same speed so by the time your jumping to the other side the platform is already halfway from underneath slime resulting in a half jump. I wanted to beat the game, but I A. don’t have the patience for that continuously B. Don’t want to get used to not being as close to the edge as possible to beat this game. I also don’t like when games have achievements for ridiculous amounts of deaths either that’s just a personal preference though as I feel like that shouldn’t be something required to 100% a game I’d rather the developer put something in game vs making that an achievement. Definitely worth the price, but the developer should really fix that jump mechanic. Another thing I thought of is when you hold the space key he consta jumps as well which isn’t the biggest deal, but would be nice if one space bar press =’d 1 jump, but that again may just be a personal preference/minor complaint compared to the half jump/no jump.
