Interesting idea in platform perspective game play. Worth the $$. The game is relaxing and the design is nicely done. Generally fairly easy with some tricky obstacles. Easy to burn a some time and pick up a bit later. Looking forward to the finished game.

Not a new concept, rotating 3D scenes to align 2D platforms in order to progress, but this is the only bad implementation I’ve played so far.
The main issue is the inconsistency, the fact that I can’t ascertain what I can jump onto and what I can’t; what will constitute a solid floor and what won’t. Contributors are the weak level design, the cheap visuals, and the glitches. Hard to evaluate the extent of the latter, but I’ve had screens fully made of invisible objects with segments of horizontal black lines here and there. I’ve been stuck inside zones that weren’t how they were supposed to be, as confirmed when coming back from an earlier checkpoint and through cutscenes that hadn’t played the first time around.

Happily Never After
You’ll meet familiar characters from your childhood, but the reunion isn’t likely to be a happy one. The gingerbread men are out for blood, Sleeping Beauty seems to be a couple centuries behind on sleep, and the Little Mermaid looks more like a sea witch than an innocent child of the waves.

As it turns out, our hero is a jack-of-all-trades. He crafted a bow and melee weapons from a pair of scissors and uses needles as powerful arrows and grappling hooks. All’s fair in a fight against the forces of evil.

The Darkest Tales is a game with deep and mysterious lore. As you progress and defeat monsters, you’ll unveil the mysteries of this nightmarish world. How will this tale end? It’s up to you to decide.
Candleman: The Complete Journey
I loved this game and as you can see by my time, I really had to persevere to complete it. Candleman is a delightful, moderate platformer with difficult bits, much easier to play with a controller. I was on a keyboard, and being very clumsy and poorly co-ordinated, I died so many times it wasn’t funny.
Janner66 has already given a comprehensive review on the mechanics of the game. I agree that it can become repetitive if you have to play a section multiple times before you succeed. In some areas you have to be very precise and that can be rage inducing!!

What a great little adventure game. Simple mechanics done really creatively and its pretty long, even if you were to speedrun it would take you 2+ hours so you’re getting a good amount of content, but it’s not a very hard game. The story is a simple heroes journey but it leads you through a bunch of interesting environments with mini puzzles, new obstacles, and new gameplay features that keep it interesting. The levels are short, under 5 mins each, and each area doesn’t overstay its welcome. Candleman is above all else an interesting original platformer that’s done right. Dont expect fancy mechanics because the only controls in this game are space, control, and wasd, but there is some great level design and the art looks perfect for the style. There’s little poems for the level names and the story actually gives quite a bit of character to this faceless, nameless, legged candle. This game looks like something you’d see a preview of 5 years ago and never actually see the game come out. The only real bad thing I have to say about this game is that your character walks too slow. I thoroughly enjoyed this game all the way through. Give it a shot if you like platformers and adventure games, you won’t be disappointed.
