Super Urban Wizard

Super Urban Wizard

Super Urban Wizard is a 2D side scrolling arcade shooter where you control a wizard with guns and shoot your way through various 2D urban scenes.

The game was written in Flash. Much like you can drive a car using only your feet, video game developers can make video games using Flash. But just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should, especially if it’s a terrible idea. There’s no working fullscreen mode, and the game is clunky as all hell, because it was written in Flash, so it’s garbage.

It’s OK if you like this sort of game, it’s just a left and right, shoot game, too simple, reminds me of the old Sega games, they become real boring real quick, for 79p meh maybe if you like this sort of thing, personally it’s like digging ear wax out…..you can only do it for so long before it hurts!

Death Road to Canada

Death Road to Canada

I discovered this game from a silly streamer playing it. It looked very goofy and also a lot of fun so I thought I give it a try also. Well I have to say I am rather shocked how many hours I ended up putting into it, it is honestly one of my all time favorite games. So here is a review from someone who has some “modest” amount of experience in the game.

Your goal is to reach this magical place of legend called Canada that for whatever reason is still safe in the zombie apocalypse. So it is up to your EXTREMELY COMPETENT AND TRUSTWORTHY characters to survive.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with this game, and I’ve been having trouble putting it down. Death Road To Canada is basically Oregon Trail in a zombie apocalypse with a quirky sense of humor that you can easily sink hours into playing. While RNG plays a big role in the game, your skill can turn a bad run around and make a good run last all the way to Canada.

Pros:

+The gameplay is well executed, and there’s loads of variety. While the game is somewhat difficult, you’re given many tips and pointers when progressing to help you improve your strategy and create characters that will get you to Canada. If you’re looking for a challenge, there’s multiple hard modes that push you to the limit, such as having the trip take twice as long or even having double the zombies throughout the entire journey.

! I will beat KEPA mode someday. When fighting zombies, the outcome is reliant on your skill and what you can do with the materials at hand - sure, the game’s much easier if you have an automatic weapon and a lot of ammo, but you have to use it wisely as not only is it quick to use up your stock but also you’re limited on how much you can carry for each gun. Being able to create yourself, family, friends, and characters from different forms of media makes the game a lot more enjoyable and leads to lots of different outcomes and situations.

The Escapists: The Walking Dead

The Escapists: The Walking Dead

Perhaps one of the strangest crossovers of the 2010’s. I didn’t even know this game existed until i bought it in a bundle that contained the original escapists and the walking dead version. So yeah, uhh. The game itself is good, the the world and items are more detailed than the original version, the game looks very nice. And overall feels more polished than the original escapists. Not that the original didn’t have polish. I have never experienced a bug/glitch in a escapists game or any other team 17 game. It’s just that the walking dead escapists feels more detailed. Anyone who has played both games probably knows what i mean. This game is much more story based than the original escapists. You are sort of in charge or something and you go through different levels completing missions, and doing your daily routine. Not doing something on time will make the zombie% rise. The higher zombie% is the more zombies spawn on the map. However sticking to the routine will give you less time to complete missions. You can use guns in this game. This works fine. It’s good but i never got through the 3rd level. I wasn’t that interested. I also played the survival mode. It’s just like a survival mode in any other zombies game. " Use guns to kill waves of zombies that get harder as you go on " You can play as 3 different characters each with their own difficulty in this mode. This was ok. I enjoyed it. The “survival” format just dose not work as well in an escapists type game. It’s still good though! So this isn’t a bad game. I still had fun with it. Worth the money. If you enjoyed the original escapists consider getting this.

I’m only putting this as not recommended for the current build (As of October 6th, 2015). While the game has good points, right now there’s some flaws that make it so that you would be better off waiting for a while to get the game. Hopefully in a few months all the kinks are worked out.

That said, I DO enjoy the game! The game still feels super Escapist-y, you have a schedule, you do chores to keep down the zombie meter (Replacement to the Heat meter), there’s a lot of crafting in this game, but with being ported into the ‘Walking Dead’ world, there’s also a story, that follows the comics more closely than the tv series. I’ve not seen the comics, so I can’t confirm how close it is myself. Other reviewers might though. The levels are short, but it doesn’t feel unnecessarily short, as long as you take the time to explore each level without rushing through to the next.

IN A WORD: COMPELLING

Dead Pixels is a side-scrolling survival/shooter with some lite-RPG elements set in a zombie apocalypse. You take control of a human survivor making their way to safety through undead filled streets of a city. The basic aim of the game depends on the game mode.

There are three game modes; The main mode is your standard Escape the hordes. Survival is an arena mode where by you have to survive countless waves of hordes. Timed attack is a variant of Survival where by you must last as long as you can. You need to either; get from one side of the street to the other until you reach the end or kill as many zombies as you can. The number of streets to traverse depends on the difficulty setting.

its fun if you like the way it plays out. every zombie you come across was not meant to be killed. as the ammo count shows. the decisions you make with your ammo and your upgrades are a major game changer. With little ammo you have to find ways to let that ammo help you get to the next store. for the first few streets you could easily just walk through, though this is a good thing as it lets you stock up and sell the loot for more money and prepare for the real issues like the faster zombies which chip away at your health and the hordes that spawn when the rats run past. the extremely fast zombie is one that may seem impossible to beat but remember its not about beating the zombies its about surviving. so its best to just throw down a firework and run as fast as possible to the next road when he spawns, so save your fireworks.

latest edit I posted this review on March 1st, and It’s July 16th. The only update has me being banned from the forum.

I got the game at launch back in September. It was in a really poor state, but I decided to give them a grace period on a review because they personally promised me and others that a big update was coming in a few weeks to a month or so, (these statements are as early as october)

biggest thing they promised was achievements, but also more content.

Survivor: The Living Dead is an incomplete game with too high a price (at least for what it offers today …)

NO Options , no support for the gamepad, no resolution or even full HD (16:9)

In terms of gameplay I found it a bit slow .. In short, today I have to give him a vote NEGATIVE, but I’m curious to see the full game so he can re-evaluate the review.

A very well rounded action game that gets better as you learn your way around.

Your first playthrough will be confusing. You will die quickly. But you will pick up the game again and again and after numerous tries master the house and feel the joy of surviving the 7 minute mode…only to find out you have to beat 12 minutes now.

This is an “old school” game in the sense that it is unforgiving, difficult, but very fun to master. You will die because of one slip up, you will die because of unlucky timing, you will die because you lost focus. But you will also feel great after executing an awesome combo, you will feel great after setting fire to dozen zombies at once, you will feel great when you get an S-rank on all levels.

Zombie Night Terror

Zombie Night Terror

Zombie Night Terror can be summarized in two game titles: Lemmings and Left 4 Dead. And yet it manages to be its own thing.

For once, the aim is not to prevent the apocalypse but to make sure it happens. In order to do so, the player guides a horde of zombies that walk in a straight line (Lemmings) by giving them specialized Zombie powers (Left 4 Dead).

Lemmings had a very cool concept and it was a gaming landmark, but it did not exactly expand into a fruitful genre. The reason why is that the core gameplay loop ended up being quite repetitive after a while, because on one hand only a select few Lemmings acquired a power that allowed them to survive, and on the other hand the higher difficulty levels ended up being a tedious chore of bridge building.

If you want the pros and cons skip ahead, but first I want to address some of the complaints I’ve seen about this game (and why you should ignore them).

“Difficulty ramps up too quickly” - Now there are definitely some levels that are significantly harder than the ones before it, but isn’t that kind of what you want out of a game? You might fail a level the first or second playthrough, but then you squeak out a win, and that’s much more satisfying than just blazing through every level. Some of the bonus challenges are very hard, but it’s none of them are required to actually win the game.

Seven Bullets Zombie Apocalypse

Seven Bullets Zombie Apocalypse

Searching for a cure for cancer, scientists suddenly invented a virus that they hope will help to rid the world of this terrible disease. But the virus suddenly began to resurrect the dead and turn people into zombies.

Now the world is overwhelmed by a zombie epidemic. All inhabitants of the Earth have become the aggressive dead cannibals. You are left all alone but you have your trusty rifle and a clip with several bullets. Try to survive in the ruins of civilization, infested with the zombies. Run as far as possible, kill enemies along the way, collect coins to expand the clip to seven rounds and customize your hero. And try to survive as long as possible.

Seven Bullets is an endless side scrolling zombie shooting game in which you blast multiple types of zombies, from runners to tanks to even Pogo Stick zombies. It’s a fun, colourful game with upbeat music to keep you energized, It can be slightly repetitive, however by having many different enemies, each with their own quirk, a three part customizable character, and slightly different gameplay each time I start, this game is well worth the money.

The only annoyance I have is that the game doesn’t tell you how much you get from coins or if you even get coins when killing zombies. That and the 300 death achievement. That thing took ages, it’d be nice if there was a death counter telling us how many times we’ve died.

This game has been getting a bit of hate lately, but it’s really a pretty fun little roguelike RTS.

  • RTS-style combat (move your people and they will fight on their own)

  • RPG-style character development

  • Base building

  • Strategic exploration of world map

  • Charming retro visuals

  • You will recognize some of the characters in the game

  • Game is too easy to beat if you play carefully

  • Base building options are limited

  • Characters max out at level 5

  • No hotkeys

Here are some tips for struggling players. But beware: the game becomes super easy if you play this way.

I played the flash version, loved it. I was excited for this early release and have not been disappointed. This game is simple, addictive, and (surprisingly) thought provoking.

Pros:

-Weapon range

-Character builds

-Random events

-Research system

-Characters actually loose life when they don’t eat

-Weapon knockback feature

-Replayability

Cons:

-Reloads and/or heals not completing on level transitions

-Map navigation makes portion of the game slow and tedious

-Level length (would love to see some 3 or 4 transition buildings to add to difficulty)
